Hotels near Silom, Bangkok

I had a very disappointing stay at this hotel. The staff were very helpful and polite, but unfortunately, everything else was a bad experience. On the first day, I was assigned room 706. The bed was extremely soft and felt like the springs had collapsed. When I informed the staff, I was told there were no other rooms available. On the second day, a different staff member kindly helped to change my room to 307. However, it was located right next to the staircase, and there was a strong sewage smell as soon as I opened the door. It was very unpleasant. On the fourth day, after housekeeping cleaned the room, they left the window open and didn’t close it. As a result, I was bitten by mosquitoes during the night, and even worse, I experienced what seemed like bed bug bites. My whole body became very itchy with multiple bites. Although the hotel is conveniently located near the BTS, the overall condition is old and outdated, and cleanliness is not up to standard. Overall, this was a very uncomfortable and disappointing stay. I would not recommend it.

I stayed here ten years ago when I first visited Bangkok, and it's still great! The room is huge, and it's incredibly quiet at night. There's a bus stop right downstairs, and it's not too far from the Sala Daeng BTS station. The breakfast menu changed daily, which was a nice touch, and overall it was a very comfortable stay. My only minor complaint is that they didn't change the bedsheets during my 7-day stay. The hotel is right next to the Mahanakhon Pixel Tower, and the 20th floor offers a fantastic spot for photos.

This time I stayed at the Mercure Bangkok Surawong and had an excellent overall experience. The value for money for Bangkok is truly outstanding. When checking in, the front desk lady was very friendly and communication was smooth. There was absolutely no discrimination against Chinese guests, as some online reviews had suggested, which made me feel very respected. What pleased me most was that, contrary to online rumors, they didn't put Chinese guests in 'tail' rooms or corner rooms. The room they assigned me had a great location and plenty of natural light. The room didn't look huge, but the layout was very practical and didn't feel cramped; it was comfortable to stay in. The toilet and shower were separate (wet and dry separation). I had mentioned to the hotel beforehand that it was a birthday trip, and I was pleasantly surprised as soon as I entered the room. It was decorated so thoughtfully with rose petals, a towel elephant, a small cake, and a handwritten greeting card – full of celebratory touches. The staff also proactively helped with my luggage. Toiletries like toothbrushes, toothpaste, and razors were readily available upon request from the front desk, very well-stocked. I also visited the rooftop bar; it's not very big, so it's best to go early. From 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, it's buy-one-get-one-free on drinks, and the view is decent, you can see the King Power Mahanakhon Building. The hotel's location is also quite convenient. It's about a 30-minute walk to Chulalongkorn University, and very close to shopping areas like Siam Paragon and Siam Park, making it easy for getting around and shopping. I've been to Thailand five or six times and stayed in many hotels, but this one's overall performance was genuinely the best. It was clean, practical, great value for money, had attentive service, and the birthday decorations were especially thoughtful. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip to Bangkok. Highly recommended!

The hotel is nice and clean, and the location is convenient, near parks. However, it feels old and overpriced, and the breakfast was disappointing for the price. It’s very touristy—you have a taxi stand, English-speaking staff, and excursions available right in the lobby. Overall, it’s just not my style. The best part was early check in.

This hotel offers decent value for money. The fridge in the room was broken and didn't cool at all, but since I only returned to the hotel late every night, I didn't bother asking for a new room or a replacement fridge. Although the hotel is a bit old, for 500 baht a night, you can't really complain! There are lots of massage places nearby, and there's even a Thai cooking school next door, which I highly recommend.

The staff who helped me check in were all very friendly. The room decor was quite new, but the soundproofing was a bit lacking. The service was excellent, and the downstairs restaurant was a great spot for a drink in the evening with a lovely atmosphere. There was a really sweet male waiter in the restaurant; every night when I was working late and ordering food on the first floor, he would encourage me. Thank you!

Reception made arrangements for me to be able to check in earlier than normal. They are friendly and helpful. The room was larger than expected and very pleasant with good amenities like a good size fridge. One morning we had a problem with the water heating for the shower and they came immediately and fixed it. The same happened when the toilet was not flushing properly. They can immediately and fixed it. I noticed after check out that I had accidentally left a couple of items in the room. I have emailed asking if they would save them for me until my return in June. The place was a very pleasant experience and I'm very happy that I stayed there.

Good location. Just few minutes by walk to get BTS station. And there is many good restaurants and 24h supermarkets are located in walking distance. Even there is one restaurant which located in ground floor “Lon Lon” is one of very popular Thai restaurants in Bangkok. You must try.

I chose to stay here mainly to visit the King Power Mahanakhon building. The hotel is right next to the MRT station, and directly across from King Power Mahanakhon itself. The ticket prices have gone up; it's now 1100 THB for a non-sunset ticket and 1200 THB for a sunset ticket, which is sold after 4:30 PM. Previously, non-sunset tickets were 888 THB and sunset tickets were 1088 THB. If you want to experience Bangkok's city views and nightlife, I highly recommend staying here. There's also a small alley nearby with convenient dining options, and Patpong Night Market (which is essentially the heart of Silom) is just a few hundred meters away. The room was decent. The rooms facing the road have balconies and double-glazed windows, so there's absolutely no noise. Definitely recommended!

I received the room I've requested such as quiet room, non smoking and child-free. The location is close by BTS which is convenient to travel around. There's no disturbance in term of sound and malfunction devices. Everything works perfectly. Moreover, there's restaurant nearby if you're hungry.
