Accommodation not far from the boat boarding point to Similan, Surin. We stayed here for 1 night, soft bed, clean room, hair dryer, TV, refrigerator, dining table. the room price is less than 600,the quality is very good,there is coin-operated laundry

Hotel was beautiful and very peaceful but it did not feel like a 5 star. Upon arrival i was greeted with a cold towel and coconut water. I was taken to my room and helped with my luggage. Once i arrived at my room I was initially happy as the decor was beautiful but after having a closer look i was not too satisfied, i opted for the deluxe private pool access room but the location of the pool was not very private at all, it was right next to the entrance of the building and only slightly covered by some plants. The pool had loads of bugs and the light was flickering. I informed reception, who quickly sent someone to clean the pool and repair the light. I already asked to change my room which reception were very helpful and sent someone to show me other rooms. I found another room which initially seemed better but was in the process of being cleaned. I waited around 20 mins and i was told my room was ready. When i arrived to the new room there was a strong smell of mold/mildew but i tried not to make a fuss and simply asked for some air freshener. After inspecting the room i noticed the toilet seat had stains and was of a low quality. The pool area was not clean and had many stains, also the table outside was stained. The floor felt dusty and the windows and mirrors had multiple marks. The shower leaked each time we used it and created a pool of water covering the bathroom floor, i reported this to reception who quickly sent out engineers. Unfortunately they did not fix the problem and simply rolled up a towel next to the shower door. Although staff responded promptly to any complaints, nothing was actually rectified. Breakfast had a large selection, although a bit pricey it was worth the cost. The hotel offers a free shuttle service to khao lak centre and bang niang market, we were slightly late back but the bus was still there, i attempted to get on the bus but the driver drove off which was pretty dangerous. The drivers of the shuttle bus were very rude to my partner and told him if we were late again they would not wait for us. Unfortunately the drivers were not very friendly to us and made us feel unwelcome after this. We attended the Tin terrace restaurant for my birthday which i made a reservation for and a request for a good seat for the fire show. Upon arrival the restaurant knew nothing of my reservation, luckily we managed to find a good seat. The service was very slow and the food was terrible but presented well, we sent the food back and decided to eat elsewhere. The manager of the restaurant was apologetic and took the food off of the bill so we just paid for drinks. The fire show was phenomenal but the food was trash. There’s much better places to eat in Khao lak centre for a fraction of the cost. The spa was beautiful i had a 2.5 hour package for 2890 Bhat, although there are much cheaper options elsewhere this was worth the costs for a birthday treat. The hotel has its own beach, the bridge to the beach felt old and dangerous, the beach itself was small but peaceful. They also offer free kayaking in the lake. Over all my stay was ok, The hotel is beautiful and has potential to be a 5⭐️ but due to the issues stated and the cleanliness i would not say this hotel is 5star. This was my 30th birthday trip and i expected more, the service and most staff made it slightly better the For the money i spent i wish i booked elsewhere, i would not stay here again.

Absolutely loved this hotel! The design and views perfectly matched my aesthetic, and it was incredibly photogenic. The hotel beach has super fine sand, and swimming in the ocean felt very safe. There are also lots of small animals around the hotel. I highly recommend the deli cafe, I couldn't stop at just three cups a day! The only minor drawback was the service, which was a little slow, but I noticed there were only a few staff members who were clearly overwhelmed. However, all the service staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. There were two particularly nice ladies at the front desk who helped with every little detail. The hotel also arranged taxis very quickly. Overall, I'm very satisfied and would definitely visit again.

Great resort - large complex, huge rooms. Amenities were perfect for what we wanted.  And the location close to a pleasantly bustling street really made our trip special.  A selection of pools, generally enough sun beds, well kept gardens.  Breakfast was really nice.  Would recommend

The hotel was clean. The grounds are quite spacious. However, the actual beachfront belonging to the hotel is rather small. A big plus is that the hotel is located right on the beach, and their sun loungers are complimentary. Monitor lizards roam the property, which I found charming – they keep to themselves and don't bother anyone. Unfortunately, the room's shower had a damp smell. Breakfasts were standard fare; nothing particularly noteworthy.

I recomnend this place to stay! If you want to plunge into the nature it is the Best place ever. It is the right place to linger and marvel at the beauty of its surroundings.

Avoid Seascape Rooms Entirely - Lighthouse Works (If Upstairs!) Our initial ”Seascape” room was uninhabitable:** overpowering mould/must smell caused breathing difficulties (tight lungs) within 30 minutes. Combined with noisy transformers outside, we fled immediately. Staff moved us *free* to their ”Lighthouse” hotel across the road. **Beware the ground floor:** our Lighthouse room had the same severe damp/mould issue. **After one awful night, we paid extra to upgrade to a 3rd-floor sea view room.** **This saved the stay:** The upstairs Lighthouse room was fresh, clean, comfortable (great beds/linen) with lovely views. Free water on each floor was appreciated. We extended from 5 to 7 nights here. **Serious Issues Remain:** 1. **Seascape Building:** Avoid entirely - severe mould makes it unfit. 2. **Lighthouse Ground Floor:** Same mould/damp problem. **Only higher floors are acceptable.** 3. **Pool:** Excess chlorine on Day 1 bleached my wife's black leggings brown. Check levels before swimming. **Bottom Line:** Only stay if you can *guarantee* an **upstairs room in the Lighthouse**. Never accept any Seascape rooms or Lighthouse ground floor rooms. The hotel must fix pervasive mould issues.

Our stay at Merlin Khao Lak was pretty great. We had a week there, and sincerely enjoyed the feeling of staying in a contained and nicely taken care of rain forest by the beach. The location was nearly perfect, but the beach itself wasn't very swimmable (beginning of rain season, to be fair). Fortunately, there were other beaches on the same coast that were nicer during the same time of year, so we did get time in the sea water. Even without sea swimming, the ambience from the waves and the sunsets made the beach plenty nice for us at Merlin. There is also a variety of nicepy kept pools to enjoy, though I typically don't enjoy pools personally. Service/food were both nice as well. The staff was pleasant enough, but it did feel weird that an ecologically minded resort had the least meat/dairy alternatives of any of the several resorts/hotels we stayed at. I found ordering curries with no seafood or meat simple though, and they were mostly still good. The massaman curry was a miss, but everything else I tried was quite good for resort food! We really loved the touch of the room's default tv channel being an info channel about the resort's wildlife and maintenance. That, plus the several info booklets allowed us to have a more guided and knowledgeable experience while sightseeing on the exceptional grounds. It was really fun running into others who were also just having a look around and waiting to see a different animal pop up. We enjoyed our stay. Next time we'd likely come back, while also spending some time up the coast a bit.

Had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The grounds are very clean and green. There's a Michelin-starred restaurant and a spa. Highly recommend.

We had a pleasant two-night stay at a reasonable price, booked via Trip.com, even during Thailand's dry season and the peak Christmas week. After five nights of camping at Mu Ko Surin, our two-night stay at Reef Oceanside before heading home provided some much-needed rest. However, there were a few minor downsides: the somewhat dated room condition, the sluggish drainage in the bathroom, and having to specifically request bacon at the breakfast buffet.
