Hotel Laugarbakki Reviews

If you need a place to stay one night on the round trip of Iceland, from Akureyri back to Reykjavik, Laugarbakki is the choice. Hotel choices are limited. This one is probably a reasonable choice. Compared with other hotels of similar quality in other towns, this one is relatively expensive. The breakfast lacks choices, too. But the staff is good, as I lost a remote control of my selfie and found by the staff, lovely.

Basic hotel on the ring road. Amazing in so far that the hotel is a great location for specific itineraries that need a night there but for most, a basic room and breakfast.

Hotel is big and nice, as not really in a city centre, so the light pollution is not strong there, had the best northern light experience right in next to the hotel.

It's on the way to the West Fjord... There's a free hot spring, and the breakfast is delicious and pleasant.

The best hotel for our 2 week trip to Iceland. Spacious and clean rooms. Fully equipped with amenities such as amenities. friendly staff. Variety of breakfast. A restaurant serving delicious Icelandic cuisine. Relatively low cost of hotels. Highly recommend staying here if you are passing by.

Hygiene: The trash can in the bathroom was not emptied when I checked in, and there was still trash from the previous guest. Facilities: The shower water was very small, and the water volume was so small that it almost felt like the water was about to stop, making it very uncomfortable to take a shower. Service: Including morning service, but the variety is relatively small. Environment: The location is easy to find and the room is relatively large.

The room is big and clean, but there are too many lights at night, so we can only drive out to take pictures of the aurora.

We stopped here after our first day on the ring road. The staff were very nice and welcoming. Dinner was great. They had decent vegan options that we enjoyed including dessert. The jacuzzi was great even though it was -10 degrees outside. We slept great and didn’t hear other guests. Breakfast was good as well and had many vegan options.

Everything was very nice. The restaurant was very good. There was only 1 hot tub working, and the temperature wasn’t too warm, stayed at 32, so that could have been warmer.

This hotel is very convenient for a stop between two bigger towns that can be just too long of a drive in one day. There is dining there for all meals. They have hot tubs which were nice and warm, especially for the FREEZING cold day we were there. Rooms are good size. Food was really good. Perfect spot to see northern lights if it's a good night for it.

A former old school converted to a hotel. The staff was very nice and helpful. Dinner was very good. This hotel is recommended by my husband and me.

The staff was very friendly. Coffee/tea service in lobby was a plus. Breakfast buffet was well stocked with a variety of options. The rooms were a nice size.

Lovely stay. the rooms have been updated nicely. Good free cold breakfast.

This hotel was right off the ring road in the perfect place for us to stop for the evening. The outside did not impress but our room was very really nice! It was spacious, clean and the double sinks in the large bathroom were a surprise.The food in the dining room was excellent both at dinner and the included breakfast.
