Shade Hotel Manhattan Beach Reviews

This is a nice hotel in a phenomenal location. The staff was friendly & helpful. Unfortunately, we stayed in one of the older (non-renovated) rooms and there were several issues with the room itself: Sliding glass door to the balcony was rusted shut & wouldn't open, the room was pretty dark (odd lighting & multiple switches that weren't near the lights) and rocks were missing from the shower floor. The bed was very comfortable but the pillows were like rocks. The renovation appears to be being done room-by-room so there were cabinets & construction materials in the hallway - and it's been going on for awhile. We will stay again but will DEFINITELY request a renovated room on the second floor!

Where should I begin...? What an amazing experience!!! I booked a staycation at Shade Manhattan Beach for surprise birthday and from beginning to end, it was a 5 star experience. The rooms have been recently renovated and are just beautiful. The staff made us feel like we were VIPs. You can't beat the location! Located in the heart of manhattan beach, we were in walking distance to some of the best restaurant's in Los Angeles. Such a memorable time.

In the heart of Manhattan Beach where everything is walking distance. The renovated rooms are amazing, modern and classy. The beds are also comfortable. The customer service from the front desk lived up to everything I read on here. Definitely will come again!

Oh man, this place is wonderful! We stayed in the Napa Suite and it was so luxurious! The bed was so comfortable, the shower was so relaxing, and the heated toilet seat was such a nice touch! ;) It has a huge bathroom with a separate, gorgeous tub, lots of great lighting for doing makeup, and an epic television in the living room! So many lovely details. The entire staff is SO sweet made us feel so welcome and taken care of. It's overall such a chill, happy, calm, fun atmosphere! We got to have the brunch and a dinner there and both were delicious, with great service! Can't wait to come back!

Excellent atmosphere. Staff are attendititve and pleasant. Restaurant are near by and food is delicious. The room was exceptional. Definitely coming back. Lots to do within walking distances. We enjoyed our stay and if your looking to getawayfor a weekend it's a must do.

The gentleman who checked us in surprised us with an upgrade to the executive suite. Quite a way to spend the night. All of the staff members were pleasant, helpful and provided excellent hospitality. We have absolutely nothing but compliments for them and enjoyed our stay.

Stayed here during a family vocation for a couple of nights. Very happy with rooms beds and service. very walkable area. It's literly a block from the beach in downtown Manhattan beach. close to the airport and nice restaurants within walking distance.

I was really excited to stay here. We were put in an older room though. The floor was cracked, carpet coming apart, tv broken. I wish it had been disclosed upone booking- we would have stayed elsewhere

This place is amazing, I can see why it has a 9.0 rating. Not sure where they lost a point, seems like a 10 to me.

Perfect location in a great environment. Can walk everywhere in MB. Great dining options all around the property.

The most exquisite and welcoming boutique hotel I’ve stayed in! A five star experience all the way around. Will stay much longer next time and plan to bring additional couples for a perfect staycation

Fabulous weekend visit at The Shade! Top notch hospitality and friendly staff. Bar and restaurant are amazing with tasty food and yummy cocktails. Our newly renovated room was very modern, tricked out lighting, smart TV (Apple TV and all the usual apps), and very comfortable bedding. Walk to town, pier and all the restaurants and bars at your doorstep.

This is one of our most favorite places! Everything about this hotel was perfect. Gustavo was great for breakfast. He helped us with brunch with our nephew and his daughter!! It worked out great. Of course Matty was the best bartender ever. We felt welcome and we had a lot of laughs and fun with him!! Everyone at the front desk was helpful and friendly!!! And the champagne was a very nice touch upon our arrival 😊❤️

Great quiet location considering right in the heart of everything and where else can you have a beer keg in your bar❤️
