I like the open-air bath very much, and I often go there with my family. The transportation is convenient, and there are pastures and amu*****t parks nearby, allowing the children to have a good time.

We stayed in the forest villa building of the hotel. Many buildings for this hotel. Oriental Garden seems to be the nicest. Forest Villa was pretty good. Room view was forest, and we were right down the hall from the onsen. There are 3 onsens you can visit; Main building is the biggest unfortunately many of their saunas were closed, Forest Villa was small however very nice and Oriental Garden's onsen was the most relaxing. Try all three! The pool was closed when we went. Room was clean. Hotel is clean. We ate the buffet at Forest Villa for dinner and breakfast. It was good. Service in this hotel is great. Very friendly. Good place for families to stay. Beautiful place to stay if you are in Nasu.

I went there for the first time in a long time. Perhaps because it was a weekday, only the main building was open. The baths are large and the quality of the spring water is rich, so you can soak in a variety of hot springs in one place, and there is also a sauna. The temperature of the shower in the washing room was low, and at this time of year, it was very cold when I was washing my body. The dinner buffet was Hokkaido Fair. The boiled crab was delicious and not salty. The breakfast menu was also interesting, including the melon-flavored soft serve ice cream that was served at dinner, which was also available for breakfast, as well as black bean natto and farm coffee milk.

We stayed here in October. Due to the bad weather on that day, there were not many guests staying at the hotel, so I think it was quiet and comfortable in a good way. There are some parts of the facility that are showing signs of age, but it has been kept clean and there was no discomfort. The room was spacious enough and there was a sofa. The bath in the room was nice, but the open-air bath had a sense of freedom and was even better. The temperature of the hot water seemed a little low due to the rain, but since the source is said to be a living thing, this can't be helped. The meal is a Chinese buffet. There were many children's menus and the children were very happy. I would like to stay here again when I go to Nasu.

I think it was because of cancellations due to a typhoon forecast during the Obon holiday, but it was quiet and I was able to relax at the hot springs and buffet. The room was well-cleaned, and there was coffee, tea, and buns, so I was satisfied. I did not go into the pool.

I decided to choose a smoking hotel from the beginning, but there was no ashtray in the room. When I asked the staff, they said "Smoking is prohibited in the entire building" and it has been like that since March of this year... I'll let them know... but there was no response, and there was no word when I checked out. What do you think about this?

I visited again after about half a year. Learning from my mistakes last time, I made a reservation after confirming that the main building's large public bath was open. The room was the same as last time. The source of the outdoor bath in the guest room was a mixed spring, and I thought it might be a sulfur spring + something? But it was an alkaline + magnesium spring, which was disappointing. And it was hot. I thought the previous lukewarm sulfur spring was much better. It's harsh in the winter, but it's still better than the current mixed spring... However, even with a lot of water added, there is still a slight smell of the hot spring, so it's worth using to wash off the sweat. Is there a small number of washing places in the main building's large public bath? The sulfur spring is very effective, but even the lukewarm water in the outdoor bath is only 40 degrees, which is disappointing. I was hoping that it would be the same temperature as the previous outdoor bath in the guest room. The outdoor bath and the sulfur spring in the indoor bath are not much different in temperature. The alkaline spring, set at 37 degrees, was also close to 40 degrees, which is disappointing. Perhaps because it is often used by elderly people, this is a hot spring that has no connection to lukewarm water. This time, I went to the Sky Hall in the main building. It felt like a resort hotel meal + α, and it was not as good as the previous Chinese food. However, I was satisfied. The dishes and desserts using dairy products were especially delicious. I could eat several cups of milk in the morning and coffee milk. This time, there were many negative points compared to the previous time, and the distance to Nasu is far, so I felt that it would be difficult to repeat.

I have been staying at this hotel every June before the summer vacation for almost 10 years, but this year (2023) I booked a two-night, three-day stay with check-in on Friday and check-out on Sunday, and stayed in a double room at the Oriental Garden Hall. Normally, it is the beginning of the rainy season, so Nasu Highlands has many cloudy and rainy days, with temperatures of 20°C during the day and around 15°C in the early morning, but this time, the weather was good for all three days and the temperature around the hotel was 29°C, as high as midsummer. I finally checked in around 5:30 p.m. in the evening to match the time of the local bus from JR Kuroiso Station. At this time, the check-in procedure was completed smoothly without having to line up at the front desk, and the first day's dinner was a buffet at the Chinese restaurant "Banri" on the first floor of the Oriental Garden, and the second day's dinner was a buffet at the Italian restaurant "Mori no Table" on the second floor of the adjacent "Forest Villa Hall". Also, if you ask for no cleaning on the second day when you check in, you will receive a 1,000 yen coupon that can be used at the hotel's shops (in this case, only towels will be replaced on the second day, and mineral water will not be replenished). The breakfast was buffet-style at the Oriental Garden "Banri" both times, just like the overnight stay. Check-out on Sundays is early, at 10:00, so we moved to the main building, a little further away, and had the front desk leave our luggage until the evening. The purpose of this 2-night, 3-day trip was to go to "Nasu Animal Kingdom" on Saturday and "Nasu Ropeway" on Sunday, so after checking in, we purchased discount tickets for each at the shop in the main building, as well as a 1-day bus pass valid for 2 days (we used the 1,000 yen coupon we received at check-in). As we have used this hotel many times, we were always satisfied with the hot springs, meals, and the attentive service of the hotel staff. We were also blessed with good weather, making this the best Nasu trip we have ever had.

The hot spring is small, but the quality of the spring water was good. The food was a buffet, and was neither good nor bad. Some of the dishes were so bad that I couldn't eat them, but overall it was sufficient. The rooms were awful, and although they were old, I can't help it, the smell was unbearable. It smelled like sewage. I woke up in the middle of the night because of the smell, and the smell drifted all the way to my bed, so I couldn't sleep. Was it backing up from the sewer pipes? My companion said it smelled like a cheap apar**ent, and it was a terrible experience. Even when I opened the window, bugs got in, so I wish they would clean the sewer pipes. There were also bugs in the room, and although they didn't bite me, it was unpleasant.

I visited this hotel because the open-air bath in the room with sulfur (hydrogen sulfide) was unusual for me. When I arrived at the hotel, the staff's reaction was good, and there was a welcome drink, but I was shocked to hear that the large public bath in the main building, which I was most looking forward to, was closed. Perhaps because I applied through an OTA, I didn't know that each large public bath had an opening day, and when I later checked the official business calendar, I found that it was closed almost every day except Saturday this month. I didn't know that there was a hotel like this, so it was a good learning experience. The room was a twin room with an extra bed. To be honest, it was small. In particular, it was a little irritating to get to the balcony where the open-air bath was. There were some black spots due to hydrogen sulfide, and the room also smelled a little of sulfur, but if you are not comfortable with that, you should not choose this room. (I didn't have any problems.) The TV is a little small, so you can watch YouTube and Abema. However, there is no CS button, probably because of the remote control from another manufacturer, and you cannot access it from the TV itself. There is a Nescafe Dolce Gusto. The bathroom and toilet are separate. There is no changing room when using the open-air bath in the guest room. You can either change outside or in front of others in the room. In winter, it is very difficult to do it outside. The hot spring only trickles. The temperature of the hot spring itself is a little hot. However, if it is all hot spring and it is stored in a pot, it takes all night, and when you get in, the top is warm and the bottom is cold. Even for me who likes lukewarm water, it is hard in this cold weather. Since the large public bath in the main building cannot be used, I sincerely thought that it would be nice if they could increase the amount of hot water a little. So, you have to add hot water to the shower, but the hot spring water is diluted, which is very disappointing. I think that you can only enjoy the hot spring water in the open-air bath in the guest room in winter and midsummer. By the way, the large public bath in the annex, Yudokoro Hinoki, can be used on this day, but it is cold and it is troublesome to move by bus, and it seems that it is far to go from the annex to the large public bath, so I decided not to go. There were three buffets to choose from for meals, but in reality, I could not choose and went to the Chinese buffet at Banri in the annex. More than half of the food was Chinese, so I was glad to be able to try food that I don't usually get to try. The number of dishes was average, and the taste was appropriate for the hotel price, and I think it was better than the food at an average resort hotel. However, the dinner meal time was 75 minutes, which was a problem. I'm still shocked that I couldn't use the large public bath in the main building, but if I were to visit again, I would check the business calendar carefully and try to visit outside of midsummer and winter.

I like going to Nasu and stay here 2-3 times a year, but this time I stayed here for 2 nights and 3 days during the 3-day weekend in October. There are 9 accommodation buildings on the hotel grounds, but I stayed in the "Annex Building" which is a little away from the main building. It is the only single room and I can stay here casually, but due to the recent spread of infectious diseases, it has been closed for a while, so this was my first stay in about 3 years. When I made the reservation online about a month ago, the extension of the "Prefectural Resident Discount" had not yet been decided, and the accommodation fee was quite high because it overlapped with the autumn leaves of Mt. Nasu. However, later, the extension of the "Prefectural Resident Discount" was announced on the news, and when I called the hotel, they said they would handle the procedure for the Prefectural Resident Discount, and the discount (5,000 yen per night) was applied to the accommodation fee as it was in the online reservation, which was very helpful. Also, after making the reservation, I had several phone calls before the stay, and was informed that starting in October, the bus ticket would be free but would be charged (500 yen round trip), and that the annex building is not entirely non-smoking, so an air purifier would be placed in the room. Then, when I checked in on the day of the stay, the air purifier that I had been informed about by phone was not placed, and some room amenities (towel hangers, yukata, blankets, etc.) were missing, so I inquired at the front desk and they immediately took care of it. At other hotels, I would hesitate to inquire at the front desk, but at this hotel, the staff are very friendly at all the accommodations, so it is very helpful to be able to inquire immediately if I notice something. If you stay for two nights or more, if you declare that you do not need cleaning on the second day at check-in, you can exchange it for a 1,000 yen coupon, although it is only available within the hotel, and I received a 5,000 yen coupon together with the "Prefectural Discount" coupon (2,000 yen per night) this time. There are three buffet-style restaurants (Japanese, Chinese, and Italian) on the hotel grounds, and if you stay multiple nights, you can choose the dinner venue from the second night onwards, so we went to the Japanese restaurant for the first night and the Chinese restaurant for the second night. As always, both the Japanese and Chinese buffets had a good taste and each dish seemed to be carefully prepared, and there was a wide variety of dishes and desserts, which were quickly replenished, and it was also great that we were able to enjoy the new rice grown locally this fall. There are also four large open-air baths (two separate for men and women, and two that alternate between men and women in the morning and evening), which would normally be difficult to explore in one night, but since we stayed two nights this time, we were able to take our time exploring all four. There are three types of natural hot springs in the facility: sulfur springs, magnesium springs, and alkaline simple springs, and guests can enjoy the hot springs as well as day trips. There are also several types of baths with different temperatures, even though they are the same quality, and there is a sauna and a cold bath, so the bathing facilities are as comprehensive as those of a super public bath in the metropolitan area (some accommodations have rooms with open-air baths). I have stayed here nearly 20 times, and always try to avoid busy periods, but this time it was a three-day weekend, and it was the first time that all the accommodations were crowded. As expected, when it's crowded, it's hard to enjoy the food and hot springs at your leisure, and it was unfortunate that the weather during our stay was not good, but even though it was so crowded, the hotel staff were very accommodating, so we were able to stay without confusion, which was a relief. For access, there is a free shuttle bus (reservation required) from JR Nasu-Shiobara Station, where the Tohoku Shinkansen stops, as well as a local bus that runs about once an hour from the nearest JR Kuroiso Station, which takes about 30 minutes and stops at "Shin-Nasu." There is also an express bus from Shinjuku, which takes about four hours, and from the "Shin-Nasu" bus stop, it is a 3-5 minute walk to the hotel front desk.

It's a wonderful sulfur spring. My body feels warm even after I get home, and my back pain is greatly alleviated. There are large baths in several facilities, and you can freely go between them. If you are staying in a building that does not have a large bath, a bus will be provided to pick you up, but the rooms with hot springs are incredibly comfortable. The buffet-style meals are varied, so you won't get bored even if you stay for several nights.

I stay at this hotel 3-4 times a year because it is a rare hotel in Nasu that accepts single-person reservations even during busy periods such as 3-day weekends. I was upgraded to a Hollywood Twin room on the 3rd floor corner room of the Forest Villa building, and ChromeTV was added to the TV in the room (I wonder if this service is common to all buildings...?). In addition, the hotel offers a buffet for dinner and breakfast, and the breakfast croissants are especially recommended. They are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, and because they are mini sizes that are easy to eat, you can eat several in the morning. The hotel has a reputation for good customer service, but when using the bath in the main building, it gets crowded, so guests other than those staying in the main building and the Queen's building are advised to use the Aqua Venus reception desk, which is the same as for day-use baths, at check-in. Thanks to this guidance, the changing rooms were relatively uncrowded.
