Well situated, 2 minutes from Nijmegen station, and a stone throw away from the historical centre, restaurants and a Park. The room was well appointed, and the breakfast was good value for money. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Has a lift and also storage facilities for baggage after ckeck out.

I recently stayed at Vertoef, drawn by its promising location and amenities. Unfortunately, the experience fell short due to the unsettling atmosphere and the owner's approach to human interactions. Despite the convenience of parking and the allure of it's location, the environment within Vertoef felt tense, with staff seemingly on edge. This tension was exacerbated by the owner's demeanor; witnessing him raise his voice at people was discomforting. My interactions with him felt disingenuous, particularly when I observed a preferential treatment towards guests who appeared more wealthy. For instance, a few years back, when I visited with my family, who may at times adopt an appearance that could be interpreted as more affluent, the treatment we received was noticeably warmer. It's worth noting, however, that the accommodations themselves were quite basic, underscoring that the establishment isn't necessarily targeting a higher-end clientele. All of this contrasted starkly with a previous stay at an Airbnb in the building next door (similarly colored balconies), where the relaxed atmosphere and fair treatment made for a much more enjoyable experience without sacrificing the benefits of location. In sharing this, my hope is for Vertoef to reconsider the importance of genuine hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere, ensuring all human beings feel valued and respected.

Only thing we didn’t was the traffic noise all through the night; for the rest everything was really perfect.

Had a wonderful stay. Room was clean and staff was always friendly. Room was large with kitchenette and Wi-Fi connection was perfect. Draw backs, no staff after 8pm, not that we needed it as the other guests were quiet and respectful and the breakfast buffet could use some variety. But would definitely stay again.

Fantastic location near the station and near the main area. Everything is on your door step! We booked the larger room as we were there 5 nights. It was spacious, clean and good basic furniture. Decent size bathroom for Nijmegen. I loved the kitchenette to be able to prepare healthy food when we wanted to. A really good restaurant and bar for breakfast and simple lunch. Great gym! Efficient staff. Modern and stylish ambiance. I have booked to stay there again in early September.

I had a great stay here. Big room with a small kitchen, dinnertable and a sizeable bathroom. Everything clean and tidy. The room has a guesthouse feeling and not a bland hotel room appearance. Very helpful and nice staff. The guesthouse is in the middle of the city centre. 4 mins walk to the train station and 2 mins walk to the concert place Doornroosje, which was my purpose of the stay. One thing to note is that the reception is not staffed during night. If you need to check in or out after 18:00 you need to contact the staff beforehand. With your room card you can enter and leave the guesthouse at your will 24/7 so I had no problem with this arrangement. I will certainly book here again if I ever find myself in Nijmegen again.

A 3-minute walk from the train station. It's a little hard to see where to enter the building; appears to have been an office bldg previously. In May the room was a bit chilly; there is no thermostat but a little space heater is in each room.

Really nice and clean. It was a nice surprise. Beds were comfortable even though it was two singles put together. Breakfast was very continental but nice. Especially the 🧀 cheese. The hotel is 5mins from Nijmegen train station. Staff are super friendly and attentive. Room was a good size.

Your information is very missleading. The front desk is meant to be open until 10pm, I arrived at 7.30pm and could not get into the building. A small note says that they close at 7pm and gave an emergency number. Apparently I should have been sent a code, which ********** did not send me. When phoning, I got an answer machine! It was a cold night and after being on the road since 6 am, I needed to get to a warm room. It was only through the help of some guest that I could finally enter and make phone contact with the management, who gave me a the code after 'trusting' me to pay upon check-out. The guesthouse put the blame on ********** All in all, very disappointing!

We stayed at Guesthouse Vertoef for two nights on a recent visit to Nijmegen. Our room was quite large and simply furnished, but comfortable and functional. The bed was very comfortable and we appreciated having a table and chairs and the ability to boil water for tea. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was simple and good. The common spaces are welcoming - the lounge seemed quite lively when we checked in. The guesthouse is very close to the train station and is easy to reach by car if you are driving. Parking is very easy and convenient. I believe laundry is available in the basement, though. we did not use it.

Unusually spacious rooms for The Netherlands. Bigger than the much more expensive Mercure Hotel. Also, kitchenette available, but plates etc cost EUR 11. The gym is only partially available, one bench and a few weights … Location 350 m from Central station.

Pros : Free parking on the premises, rooms are fairly large and you can open the windows. Cons: You have to check in before 7PM if you want to interact with someone. We requested an extra pillow which was promised but never arrived. One of the twin beds in our room was so close to the window that access was difficult. Limited choices at breakfast include terrible coffee.

I stayed at Guesthouse Vertoef on business for 2 nights in June. The location is excellent. I arrived by train into Nijmegen station and the hotel is a very short walk over the road, opposite the station. The sign of the hotel can be clearly seen from the walkway. The place is quirky and immaculately clean and well presented. The corridors are a bit office like and the stairwells are an unfinished concrete render which felt a bit industrial, but my room was large (even though classed as small). It was comfortable and had a dual aspect which was nice. It did however feel a bit as though I was sleeping in an IKEA room display, particularly with the dark grey/black ceiling. The bed was VERY comfortable. There was a bit of noise outside in the early hours but perhaps not surprising considering the city location. The external window blinds also rattle a bit in their tracks but not so as to disturb too much. The only down side to this venue in my opinion is the very early closing time of the reception, and therefore bar/café and lounge area (7pm). This meant that returning to the hotel after dinner or a days work felt a bit daunting as you enter via a secluded black door on the side of the property. Due to (probably) good sound proofing I did not hear anybody else inside the hotel at all on the first night (when I was staying alone, awaiting the arrival of colleagues the following day). This did feel a bit daunting, coupled with the fact that the lights only come on on sensors, so you had to venture inside before seeing much. There also seemed a lack of information about who if anyone you could contact and how if there was a problem (no night porter etc). Breakfast was good and plenty of it. Unlimited buffet style. Good choice, all cold continental offerings. All the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, if they were there all the time this would be perfect.

Great location 5 mins walk from the railway station and 10 from the centre of the city. Friendly staff, big entrance lounge dinning area, excellent breakfast and comfortable quirky rooms. Car parking off road and on-site.. would stay again if in the city.
