I was traveling and working in several European countries, rushing around, and arrived at the Vitorford Hotel at 10:30 PM, only to find it closed! I checked Ctrip, and there was a small note saying the hotel was open until 10 PM! I called the hotel, but no one answered. I called Ctrip, but no one answered either. I'm a foreigner, pushing my luggage and carrying a bag, arriving at the hotel in the middle of the night and not being able to get in, especially since it was drizzling. I tried to find several hotels, but they were all full. Finally, I found a hotel and stayed in their presidential suite to avoid spending the night outside. I've been a Ctrip customer for over ten years and have never given a bad review to any business. Today, I demand a refund! A refund! A refund!

Modern hotel located in an ideal location in central Nijmegen, less than 5 minutes on foot from the central station and the busy quarters. The room was spacious, quiet and comfortable. I was a little surprised at the inclusion of a small kitchen but no utensils or other equipment to actually use in cooking - who's it for? That said, it didn't impact my stay in any way. There is no AC, but a fan was provided and the room didn't get uncomfortably hot. I would recommend this hotel and would be happy to stay here again.

Well situated, 2 minutes from Nijmegen station, and a stone throw away from the historical centre, restaurants and a Park. The room was well appointed, and the breakfast was good value for money. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Has a lift and also storage facilities for baggage after ckeck out.

I recently stayed at Vertoef, drawn by its promising location and amenities. Unfortunately, the experience fell short due to the unsettling atmosphere and the owner's approach to human interactions. Despite the convenience of parking and the allure of it's location, the environment within Vertoef felt tense, with staff seemingly on edge. This tension was exacerbated by the owner's demeanor; witnessing him raise his voice at people was discomforting. My interactions with him felt disingenuous, particularly when I observed a preferential treatment towards guests who appeared more wealthy. For instance, a few years back, when I visited with my family, who may at times adopt an appearance that could be interpreted as more affluent, the treatment we received was noticeably warmer. It's worth noting, however, that the accommodations themselves were quite basic, underscoring that the establishment isn't necessarily targeting a higher-end clientele. All of this contrasted starkly with a previous stay at an Airbnb in the building next door (similarly colored balconies), where the relaxed atmosphere and fair treatment made for a much more enjoyable experience without sacrificing the benefits of location. In sharing this, my hope is for Vertoef to reconsider the importance of genuine hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere, ensuring all human beings feel valued and respected.

Unusually spacious rooms for The Netherlands. Bigger than the much more expensive Mercure Hotel. Also, kitchenette available, but plates etc cost EUR 11. The gym is only partially available, one bench and a few weights … Location 350 m from Central station.

Fantastic location near the station and near the main area. Everything is on your door step! We booked the larger room as we were there 5 nights. It was spacious, clean and good basic furniture. Decent size bathroom for Nijmegen. I loved the kitchenette to be able to prepare healthy food when we wanted to. A really good restaurant and bar for breakfast and simple lunch. Great gym! Efficient staff. Modern and stylish ambiance. I have booked to stay there again in early September.

We chose this hotel because of its sustainable vision. We paid €308 for 2 nights (including breakfast) – not cheap, but we were willing to pay that for a good hotel. Unfortunately, the price-quality ratio turned out to be very skewed. For instance, Vertoef is an extremely noisy hotel. As in: you literally hear every cough. This also meant that on the first night we were woken up at 6:30 by 'the neighbors', and on the very last night even at 4:30. The fridge also makes a lot of noise – we turned it off. Additionally, there is a lot of disturbance from outside traffic noise (especially on Saturday night, which is busy with nightlife). (We were already sleeping on the 'quiet side' of the hotel in room 215 at our request). Now, I don't like being kept awake for any amount of money, but for this price, it feels very sour. The room itself was furnished very basically – with very bright lighting directly above the bed. There was also a lack of maintenance: the towel rack and a coat hook were starting to come loose from the wall. The positives were the comfortable bed and the friendly staff. When we indicated on arrival that a few minor things needed repairing, they were noted immediately. However, regarding my comment about the noise disturbance, we were told that the rule is that one is not allowed to cause noise after 10 pm and that they would speak to the people next to us. It seems to me that good insulation would work better for everyone. The offered discount voucher for a future stay therefore did not feel like an appropriate solution.

Fijn hotel, we verbleven er 1 nachtje van 26 op 27 april. Geen drukte mbt koningsnacht.Gratis parkeren en een fijne kamer. In de ochtend een goed ontbijt en vriendelijke medewerksters. En in nog geen 500 meter, midden in het centrum.

Alles klopt hier gewoon: van de kamer en medewerkers tot en met de publieke ruimte. Prijs/kwaliteit zijn dik in orde, de parking prima en mocht je hier komen om te werken, onder de lobby zijn een fitnessruimte en een kantoor waar heel wat mensen jaloers op zouden zijn.

Wat een leuk en budgetvriendelijk hotel. Heel fijne locatie vlak bij het station. Schoon, heel fijne bedden en prima douche. Verwacht geen strak zakenhotel. Sfeer is uitstekend.

Het personeel bij Vertoef is helemaal toppie. Ik heb een maand verbleven bij dit Guesthouse, maar ik voelde mij geen guest, maar heel eventjes gewoon in een thuis. Echt geweldig fijn. Niels heeft een top team.

Foto's van de website zien er mooier uit dan de daadwerkelijke kamer die wij hadden. Gebouw zelf oogt ook grauwer en mindee hip in het echt. Personeel erg vriendelijk. Prima accommodatie maar erg basic (persoonlijk). Daarnaast kregen we een kamer pal naast de lift en aan de straatkant, helaas was ruilen ivm de rust niet mogelijk omdat het huis volgeboekt was. Zeker even vermelden bij de verzoeken bij een boeking!
