The Deutsche Kaiser is an imposing building situated half way between the Hauptbahnhof and the Altstadt- ideal for Xmas market and day trips. Our room, 46, was to the rear and quite large, generally quiet and comfy. Tea and coffee are provided. Breakfast until 10:00 was a small buffet offering all we needed and the service was helpful and friendly. There is free WiFi but it was so weak that we tended not to use it. English is spoken if required. Would happily return.

We chose this hotel because in the hotel amenities filters it says it has parking. Things false and misleading. We arrived. Had to park in a garage far away as it is impossible to figure out how to access it in the pedestrian zone. When we got to the hotel, they said they didn’t have any parking available and sent us to a lot even Fathers’s away. We are on a multi destination driving vacation with large bags. This simply is not acceptable. The hotel is tired and need of refurbishment - decrepit carpets and the like. There is some kind of weirdness with the elevator. The location is not actually as good as advertised. I have no idea why it has the misleading high marks as it’s in one of the shabbier parts of the city center. I really can’t comment on anything else. I just hate that I chose this place for parking and it doesn’t actually have it.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this hotel. The location was perfect, walking distance from everything. The people working at the hotel were the nicest and most helpful ever. The bed and towels were great and the breakfast (included!) was delicious. It’s located in an old mansion, but the bathroom was modern, the room was huge, there were plenty of fluffy towels, there was a shelf in the bathroom, we had loads of storage, and the view from the window was beautiful. There’s even a small gym. .

This is a grand historic hotel. The location cannot be beat- right in the heart of Old Town and in walking distance to all the sites. It is just a 5 minute walk from the train station. The room was very clean and spacious with large windows. The breakfast buffet provided great variety and the lady serving the guests was always polite and welcoming. We arrived by train about 3 hours before check-in, but our room was available and we were able to get right in. The elevator is a bit tight, but really not a problem. I would stay here again.

The hotel has old school grandure, set in the heart of the Altstadt. From the ease of parking the car directly behind the hotel, to finding our lovely room on one of the top floors which had a double aspect of the historic centre, the stay was excellent. The room was really very comfortable and it was delightful to sit in bed and see the town below with the pleased aesthetic nature of the Altstadt. The windows were double glazed, so no trouble with noise in the evening. The breakfast was delicious, beautifully laid out and with a very good choice. The lady who served us, Alma was charming and her hard work had not gone unnoticed by myself and my husband. Thank you Alma. Also the front of house gentleman who checked us in was extremely helpful during our entire stay. If you want to explore Nuremberg from a central position and you want comfort in a grand setting, this is a very good choice of hotel. We would definitely return.

The good is the location is great. Right near the Hauptbahnhof so easy to transit from the airport or regional train lines. It’s a short walk to Hauptmarkt and anywhere in old town up to the north. The breakfast was also good with lots of selection. The bad: the customer service is significantly lacking comparing to other German hotels and cities. I arrived early morning to drop off bags, knowing that you can’t check in until 3. Called someone (male) down to the desk and before any greeting was abruptly questioning why I am trying to check in. I wasn’t, but their site says they offer luggage storage. I go off adventuring and come back at 3 and waited in an armchair. The receptionist (also male) ignored me. I left it about ten minutes as might be busy, no just ignoring me. So I ask to check in. He says he isn’t sure if the room is ready and leaves reception to physically walk upstairs. If you advertise 3, be ready for 3. PM his is one example of how the service was perfunctory and not warm and welcoming and customer focussed like so many other wonderful experiences I’ve had in Germany. Also while the hotel has some charm due to the history of the place, there is a difference between vintage splendour and vintage unkempt. This hotel is the latter. So much potential, but clear they are just trying to make a buck with as little upkeep as possible. Everything is threadbare. Probably wouldn’t stay again, for the price.
