The hotel is a bit run down, and needs updating. It was very cold throughout the hotel, except for the heat in our room (which made an awful noise). We were disappointed to find that the hot tub was closed during our visit, too. If we’d known that, I would have booked elsewhere.

This was a nice place, but nothing special. However, it was clean, comfortable and quiet, even though our room was on the highway side of the building. Breakfast was about what you would expect at a Quality Inn, but it was enough to get you on the road. I would stay here again on my next trip.

Very solid. Older property but well maintained and clean. Good AM breakfast with hot options 6:30 to 9:30. Right at the corner of M-28 and M-123 and great base for exploring the eastern U.P. Less than an hour from Tahquamenon Falls, Pictured Rocks, Grand Marais and an hour from the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum, Sault Ste Marie, St. Ignace. Fast food & gas stations right at the corner, grocery stores and more dining options 3 miles north in the town of Newberry. Would stay again.

I am shocked to read all the fairly good reviews. The only thing I can think of is that people have very low expectations or don't travel very much. I understand there are very limited options in Newberry - this may be the only hotel, but I wouldn't stay here again unless it was an emergency. To start with the good - the room was ready when we got there, the front desk staff was very nice, and the location was obviously desirable on our way to Tahquamenon Falls. However, the overall hotel was just tired and dingy. Our room smelled so musty I had to go buy Febreeze at the local dollar store. and the bed was not comfortable. I honestly just felt uneasy there. The people who work there are very nice, but if would highly recommend driving out of your way to get anything else that would be a step above!

Mattress were very firm but not bad for sleeping. The continental breakfast was good. They may want to replace some windows that have broken seals. The room smelt like Indian food, this was very strange.

We stayed for a few nights on a recent trip to Pictured Rocks and Tahquamenon Falls and the Shipwreck Museum. Was a great central location, about an hour or less to everything, and right on the main highway. Comfortable room and bed, mini frig and microwave. Bathroom small, but shower was great and was fine for the two of us. Great breakfast with lots of hot and cold options ie biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, waffles, cereal, toast, yogurt, fruit. We did need to get a park pass printed out, and learned there was no computer with printer for guest use, but front desk staff kindly offered to print what we needed . Hot tub/sauna out of order when we were there, just FYI, but this wasn't an issue for us Great stay!

We were pleased to be able to get this room, since our plans had changed and we needed to find something, "last minute". The room had a Queen size bed, a refrigerator, and offered a breakfast with great offerings. Staff was friendly, and free cookies and popcorn are offered.

Reserved a room here for only one night as we kicked off our UP trip. Not the most updated motel, but very clean and well-staffed. Lobby was very welcoming and all decked out for fall. Generous hot breakfast. Would recommend!!

The room was small as well as the bathroom. Could barely turn around in the bathroom. The air conditioner was noisy even on low setting. The hot tub was not operable. Price for the room was quite high considering the room size ect. The breakfast buffet was very good. They do have complimentary coffee,cookies, and popcorn daily.

We spent one night here while on a quick trip to the Upper Peninsula. We had never stayed here before and didn't know what to expect. We were very happy with our choice and would stay here again. Check-in was great! The lady at the front desk was genuinely friendly and super helpful. She was also dressed very professional and represented the hotel very well! The room was very comfortable. The cleanliness was well above average. Beds were very comfortable, and while the room was a little dated, it was practically spotless. I had a little trouble getting the air con unit to work, but I figured it out after about 10 minutes. The free popcorn in the lobby was a great touch! Continental breakfast was great!!! I travel a lot and ever since COVID breakfasts at hotels have been awful. This one was excellent. We ate about 1/2 an hour before breakfast ended and the food was well stocked and hot/fresh. Eggs, sausage, waffles and all the cold items were great! We would definitely go back! Thank you!!!
