Is more for employees. Lots of people living here. Not somewhere you would want to sit with a family.

Basic room and amenities which was fine but the bedding had a funny smell which made us feel quite sick.It wasn't dirty at all i think it's the washing detergent they use.Shower was amazing but you have to keep your hand on the button to keep it on.

Cheap and nasty dirty carpets, no aircon, very hot shared toilets and bathrooms. We stayed in a smokers room with nicotine yellow walls really grubby. Yes it’s cheap but there must be a minimum standard. I saw no cleaners toilets and carpets are very dirty. 1 small redeeming quality it has a shared kitchen. Just a. Cheapskate place.

I was shocked at the standards in this hotel/hostel it was unhygienic , uncomfortable, depressing. The room had stains on the walls , the linen had stains on it , the sink in the room had not been cleaned Although the communal showers toilets were expected to not be as clean as private facilities the plugs were old and slimy and the hinges on the toilet seat had ‘matter’ around them I didn’t want to touch anything with my bear hands A budget hotel yes- prices akin to low prices at a Travelodge or Premier Inn but it felt like somewhere I’d be dumped if I’d just got out of prison

Over the years, I've been to a dozen countries and have stayed in budget accommodation in quite a few of them. Metro Inns deserves a place in my top 3. The staff are very knowledgeable about the local area and are all friendly and polite. The manager even loaned us a few hangers from his personal lodgings as the previous tenants of our room had either broken or stolen them. Communal toilets and showers were cleaner than expected and well stocked, as was the kitchen (which had plenty of fridges, kettles, and ovens for us to use). The showers were powerful enough to ***** off a day's worth of sweat and grime! Better than my shower at home. Towels were replaced daily for us, which I honestly wasn't expecting as we only paid £12 per head per night. Conveniently located smack bang in between Edinburgh and Glasgow park and rides, but there's plenty to see around the local area such as the Falkirk Wheel and Kelpies. The only downside was that our room only had two power outlets and could have done with a lick of paint, but the beds were surprisingly comfortable. There are also a couple of restaurants within throwing distance if you can't be bothered to cook. The coffee machine in the lobby that uses actual beans instead of instant rubbish was a nice touch. All in all, if I'm back in the area again, I'd definitely book this place again! Even if they raise the price, I would still consider it reasonable. Many thanks for a pleasant stay!

This was a basic hotel, but the room was OK and better than I expected for the very reasonable price. There was a decent shower in the en suite room that I had. There was a lounge containing a vending machine. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a very convenient location.

This “hotel” is a nightmare. Utter false advertising. No blinds on windows, dirty stained windows and mirrors, splodges of suspicious substances on the walls, window sills dirty. The whole room including the bed looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in about 10 years! The fact they can advertise this utter filth for £40 a night is atrocious. Do not dare come here, save your money you’d get a better / cleaner sleep on the bins outside.

Location - Look for the Travelodge sign on the main road as it is located next door Condition - The hotel probably hasn't been refurbished in 30 years. Some of the shower fittings were a bit rusty. However, the black out blinds work well. The bedding and towels were clean. Parking - Outside hotel Value - A Saturday night was £40. The Travelodge next door would be c£80 and central Glasgow would be £150. It really depends on whether you want newer better quality rooms and/or a Glasgow location.

Booked in on £40 per night deal for 4 nights. Knew it was cheap but we were expecting similar to Formula 1 & BB's in France, basic but very clean with en suite facilities. How wrong could we have been!! Only stayed 1 night then went else where. Cannot write more because we are in dispute with Metro through the online booking company.

I booked this hotel knowing what it was like and having read the reviews as I needed to be down here for 4 days for a training course. First impressions were grim when I was handed a key and a TV remote control but it wasn't as bad as I thought when I got into the room, although not having your own bathroom took a big of getting used to. I saw stickers for Formule 1 hotels which I had stayed at before. Manager helped me get a takeaway as I arrived late and guided me on which ones to avoid. Slept well every night but the only thing that put a dampner on my visit was my plug adaptor and charging cable being removed from the room, checked with reception as I knew I had curled it up and left it on table but nowhere to be seen. I checked the entire car and all my luggage and it wasn't there. Decent basic accommodation if that's what you require but don't leave too much stuff in your room.

Absolutely terrible Smelly and dirty place We tried to book another place to stay overnight as soon as we booked in as the place was dirty, smelly and tiny room had the extra paid for 'bathroom ' that was a toilet combined with shower in one dirty cupboard like space. Avoid at all cost.

Our excuse is that we booked last minute and had no other options nearby and already had tickets for Fringe. However, that being said, this place was horrific. Hygiene is not on their agenda, nor is general maintenance. We paid extra for an ensuite bathroom, and it was just a toilet inside a shower cubicle. We ended up at the nearest Asda buying our own pillows and bed linens as well as antibacterial wipes and sprays. From the entrance to the bedside, the carpet is threadbare and stained beyond description. The bedside stain was the most troubling..... as it was pretty obvious which body fluid it was! Thank god i had no black light! The mattress was paper thin even with the topper and you can feel every aspect of the box frame below. We get that it is a budget 'hotel', but there is no budget so low as to explain this environment. The shower head alone could spread legionnaires disease, and i really wish that I was exaggerating. Please, at all costs, read the reviews, do your research, and if you still choose to stay, bring your own linens and cleaning products. Not kidding. This is absolutely, without a doubt, the worst place we have ever stayed. A true cess pit. Rancid, grotty, and harrowing.

Absolutely disgusting rooms in very poor condition, stayed for about 30 mins while I desperately tried to book elsewhere ended up driving for two hours to the next hotel as everywhere near was booked up but would have driven across the world to get out of there
