From the time of the arrival to end of our one night stay I can not fault the reception young ladies. Very pleasant, friendly and helpful. The room my friend and I was in was a deluxe twin bed, (private own bathroom). A lovely room with pleasant views and windows that can be open. (even though it was on the third floor. Regardless of that, it certainly was worth the money & stay :) We can not fault the room it was pefect for location our stay and we most definately would stay again, if we had too, in the near future . The room was small, the corridors and windows were not well soundproofed, not worth the price. The location is great, not far from the seaside.

We had a room in the cottage behind the hotel itself and it was a lovely room. Bed was comfy and the room was spacious. It was nice to he within walking distance of so many sites. It's by no fault of the hotel, but the people who stayed below us came home drunk at 1a and were really loud - keeping my husband and me up when we had a bit of an early morning.

This place meets the requirements of Hong Kong people. The most important thing is that it is clean and sanitary. The staff service is very good. The only problem is that the sound insulation is a little bit poor. You can hear a fart every minute. As the saying goes, it costs a penny. For what it’s worth, I personally don’t think this is a problem. Whether you go to the beach food street, you can get there in about 5 to 15 minutes! ! ! !

Quite cold on arrival,took until the morning to warm the room, noisy neighbour till after 12 but otherwise fine, solo traveller away for work & an excellent price so I would still stay again.

Tiny room and paper thin walls, so could hear everything that was going on the next room, e.g., was woken up at 5am by someone being sick. Unlikely that I would stay again.

I would highly recommend anyone looking to stay in Portsmouth to look elsewhere. The room we where placed in was situated at the back of a restaurant that is not affiliated with the hotel. You have the luxury each morning of the listening to the bin men and/or restaurant workers emptying the rubbish right outside your front door. You also have the pleasure of having two parking spaces right on your doorstep. During our eventful stay, we had 2 random cars parked outside our door and often heard them coming and going in the early hours of the morning. Each night, you can also hear people walking up and down the alleyway as there is ZERO soundproofing in the unit. By reading other reviews, I'm not the first person to have an issue with this. The hotel tried justifying calling this a "room" by saying its beside a cottage that is associated with the hotel. So basically, they placed a bed in the garden shed of that cottage and called it a hotel room. Along with it being a tiny converted shed, there is little to no natural light that enters the room, and there is an smell in that room that comes from the radiator. The genius who designed the room decided to place a clothes hanger right above the radiator, making sure the smell sticks to any clothes or jackets you have to hang there (we had to dry clean two jackets to get rid of the smell as a result). Lovely hotel for the price, was very clean and comfortable. Parking was difficult to discern at first but was explained as soon as I got in

On arrival at the property I was extremely disappointed at my choice, particularly after the issues I experience arriving there from Portsmouth & Southsea station, since it seemed far more “low rent” than suggested by the photographs. However, the property was warm & within east access of all the local amenities my son & I wished to access.

Convenient for heart of Portsmouth & sites. Was awoken by a fire alarm 6.15am with no obvious cause. Possibly the 'shared' shower produced steam tgat set the alarm off.
