Here now and I’m pleasantly surprised. After reading some bad reviews I was slightly anxious about coming . On arrival there was a mix up with our rooms. ( fault of the booking agent). I booked two apartments. Unfortunately only one was available but it was a duplex so for the first night we shared a duplex. Second day the other apartment was ready so two of us moved into that one. Rooms nice and clean and do have aircon. Pool towels available at reception and apparently in your rooms but yet to find them. Pool area is nice and lots of sun beds. Hotel staff are pleasant. Breakfast is Served 8-1030am, lunch 1230-1430 and dinner 1830-2100. Plenty of choice and really nice food. Some nights are themed bbq and Mexican and again really good. We like to eat out some nights but I found myself wanting to eat in the hotel mostly as it is good. Snacks in between main meal times( burgers and hot dogs) all local spirits available. Plenty of mixers and fresh juices. All in all a good hotel. Two happy adults and two happy teenage boys . I can only imagine the people complaining are the ones booking a 4 star and expecting a 5 star plus. Taxi to Puerto Rico 8 euros max. Cheaper through day. Europe centre is a bit rubbish but the Irish bar after 930 is great

Had a really great time at altamadores. All the staff are really friendly and plenty to do locally. Big mention for the animation team/man, not sure on his name but a Scottish guy who does not stop working! The food was exceptional. We've been on many all inclusive holidays and this is one of the best. Rooms could do with a overhaul as a bit dated, but they were cleaned regularly enough. Also, thanks to the receptionist (again not sure of her name) who ordered us a taxi to the airport with a baby seat at short notice. Thanks for a great holiday!

Me, my 3 children and my mum stayed here and had an absolutely lovely time. I emailed the hotel in advance to ask if my mum's room could be as close to ours as possible and they managed to put her right next door to us! The food was lovely and had something for all of us, breakfast was especially nice and we don't usually go for breakfast everyday on holiday but we made sure to as it was so nice. All the staff were exceptional, from the cleaners to the reception and restaurant staff. Special shout out to Jamie the entertainer who is nothing short of a legend! And Joseba (Bobby!) in the restaurant who was hilarious and lovely to us all week. Already looking to return! Thanks Altamadores!

Fantastic holiday again. Our 9th visit. All staff brilliant, food great. Jamie was awesome as normal. Bingo most nights and good entertainment. I am disabled and have breathing issue, can cope on the flat but have trouble with steps, and slopes, Hotel accommodated us near to lift. We got taxi,s (very cheap) down to beach etc because hotel is high up. But wow the views are brilliant. Accomodation was great and very clean. We look forward to returning in 2025. Thank you all for a great holiday 😊 😃 😀 xx

Returned after 8 years. What an amazing time we had. Stayed in a junior suite, fantastic view. Room cleaned daily by Isobel. Food has got more variety since last visit. Always soup and salad bar. Fish and meat choices. Drinks self serve bar. Has a slush machine. Snacks morning and afternoon. Federico, Diego and Joseb restaurant staff worked really hard. Entertainment is ran by Jamie G from dance acts to singers nightly. Andriana has a beauty salon. Poolside fashion show by Sarah. Out of hotel turn right up to top you can watch the sunset over Tenerife. €5 to Europa centre with good bars and restaurants. Would i return. ......absolutely

There is no getting away from the fact that the whole of Puerto Rico and Amadores is very hilly and this hotel is on top of one of the highest ones. That said I am 72 and my wife is not far behind. We both have heart problems and arthritis but managed and enjoyed walking down to the beach. It is is steep decline but we managed it in 20 minutes. A further 20 minutes walking takes you to Puerto Rico or Playa Tauro. Taxis are cheap and plentiful - four euros from the beach to the hotel. The local bus service is very good too. Being so high up you are rewarded with lovely views. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. The food is very good for the money. We loved the place with one but. There is live music from 9.30pm which goes on until 11 pm at the latest. I know not everyone is a miserable git like me but it is all very loud and you will have no peace on your balcony. After 11pm those guest leaving the live music make their way to their rooms. This is a noisy period too so don't expect to go to sleep before midnight. If you have noisy neighbours it can be tough. It is difficult to blame the hotel for this but sound insulation is poor and I think they could be more proactive in noise management. It is common is Spain. Would I go again? Possibly but would ask for a different room - one further away from the bar. To conclude. This is a lovely hotel and all the staff are cheerful and very helpful.

Check in - we arrived late at 10pm but was a prompt check in which we were great full for, with two young children. They also provided a “picnic” of sandwiches and a big bag of fruit 🍉 Rooms - are comfortable and seemed to have been renovated recently. Bathrooms need to be next on the list thought. The rooms higher up have a balcony with table and chairs and two sun loungers. The lower down ones have a comfortable outdoor sofa also. I’d go for the upper floors for privacy and the lower ones are directly on the walkway. We had room 513 and was great. Food/Drink - decent for all inclusive. Food was always varied and the BBQ nights are 👌. We’ve been to Caribbean all inclusive that was worse! Drinks always available and are decent. Pool area - it’s what you see in the pictures quite small but exactly what you need. A smaller shallow one for kids, both are ‘cool’ but not freezing. Kids room - area could do with some more things to occupy them. Daytime entertainment was non existent, apart from Liz the sun care advisor and a 10 minute fashion show to sell clothes. Park - my biggest gripe. The flooring was uneven and the slide unusable for anyone under 5/6 due to the steep ladder. My opinion is that the hotel should invest in a better park for kids of all ages, and sort the flooring out please, we had many accidents! In summary this hotel is great value and very comfortable for a 7 day all inclusive holiday, thanks Altamadores 😀🏖️💪✈️🇪🇸🛫

Food choice was excellent, if you can’t find something from the vast choice then you should stick to self catering. plenty of sun loungers. All the staff went above and beyond special mention to Jamie G, Evelyn and John. We will definitely be returning

I wanted to leave a review, since I read so many before our holiday and I rely on other peoples reviews to help me decide where to book. Firstly, we arrived at midnight and we were greeted by a lovely gentleman on reception who checked us in quickly and efficiently and handed us each a bag containing a sandwich and some fruit, the sandwich was as dry as a flip flop but we appreciated the gesture. On arrival to our rooms we found them spotlessly clean, plenty of wardrobe space and pool towels which you could swap any time at reception for €3. They had also left us a bottle of water in the fridge, at this point I was really hoping for a cup of tea, but there was nothing else to drink other than the water - a few teabags and a few milks would have gone down a treat. The following morning we were up with the larks and ready for breakfast, we were pleasantly surprised at the full selection of cooked items, pastries, fruit, cereals, yoghurts, pancakes and breads - my youngest son was in awe of the Nutella on pump! The coffee machine was mediocre, the fresh orange was nice but the other juices were not great! After breakfast, they pretty much serve snacks (usually hot dogs, burgers, chips and Ice creams) until about an hour before lunch, and then again shortly after lunch ends until about 30 mins before dinner - you definitely do not need to go hungry. The food was good but not excellent - 2 of my kids (19 & 15) are super fussy but managed to eat something every meal - even if it was mostly pizza and chips. We had a few themed nights, 2 bbqs while we were there, a Chinese night, a Sunday dinner and a Greek night - but each time they served up plenty of pizza’s chips and salad to go along with it. The staff were all lovely and worked super hard to keep the restaurant and terrace clean. The drinks let this hotel down, there are help yourself pumps available from 11am to 11pm which consists of Pepsi, 7up zero, soda water, fizzy lemon & orange, water, lager & wine/sangria. Soft drinks were all fine and the lager was Tropical which we liked but was definitely watered down (me, beer and sun don’t usually mix, but not even a head spin from this stuff) The wines were terrible, my husband loves a red wine and found it pretty much undrinkable and resorted to buying himself a bottle from the supermarket instead. I tried the red and the rose, both not drinkable for me - the Sangria was better but I would have liked a Prosecco. There were local spirits available to pour yourself also, but again, they were ok at best. There were plenty of sun beds, although people were still putting their towels out from 7am, the hotel give out announcements that they don’t allow sun beds to be reserved but they don’t stop anyone and after the second day we joined in to get a good spot - there were 6 of us and we always managed to get beds together. There is a small supermarket at the hotel which stocks pretty much anything you might need. We ventured out shopping a few times and to
