This hotel was a former Sheraton and Marriott just completed a major renovation. Pros: Staff, particularly in the restaurant were very nice! Beautiful hotel. Nice restaurant and good service. Nice breakfast (a la cart is better than buffet). Very comfortable bed. Beautiful bathrooms, fully supplied. Pool was beautiful (also note con below) Nice location if you want to explore EUR for a day. (also note con below) Cons:. Long distance to Rome city center, 30/45 minutes (walk to station, train, etc. or expensive cab in traffic) Somewhat difficult to depart hotel on foot to train station or surrounding areas. (Note: do not follow maps, go through the park and walk around the opposite way to entrance. Maps will take you straight down a busy road with no sidewalk) Air conditioning in my room would not cool the room very well I asked if I could pay to upgrade to a suite for my stay and was told there was no availability. I looked on line and suites were available. Spa was closed. Pool is not heated and very cold, the concrete deck has no shade or umbrellas. There is an odd fence separating deck chairs to pool that is not visually or functionally appealing Summary: This is a very nice hotel that is still working out kinks from new opening. This is definitely a nice location if you want to be away from tourists and explore EUR and different sites. This is not a great choice if you are coming to Rome for a short time and want to visit all of the monuments. There are much better locations in the center. I work in Rome every year and will probably return for a night, just to get away from the hot, tourism in the City Center. I rated this stay a 3, but would easily change to a 4 if AC worked and communication about availability of suites was better. The price is just too high for those issues. Again, very nice and the potential is definitely there to be wonderful. May be a much better experience in the coming weeks and months.

Very Good

This is a beautiful hotel with modern updates. I believe this property was previously a Sheraton as we learned during our stay that it was only their second day being open. The staff was very friendly, lobby and halls smelled great, restaurant has an amazing food selection, and the gym is great (one of the biggest during our stay around Europe). However, there are a couple of cons: the location is not great as it is isolated and away from the main city center. The taxi drive is at least 30 minutes and the charges are astronomical. Secondly, the hotel had issues concerning the shower temperature, while showering the water frequently fluctuated from hot to cold during our entire visit. My husband notified the front desk and was told they would look into the issue, but unfortunately it was never resolved during our stay. Other than the two cons listed, I would recommend this property!

I booked a last minute trip to Italy and this hotel is part of Marriott, new, and was the best priced Marriott hotel for my available dates. The hotel is new and aesthetically pleasing but the customer service definitely needs improving. I checked in May 11 so likely one of the first patrons. Location: - Depending on traffic, it's about 25-30 minutes from the city center. I knew that before booking and proceeded since it was decently priced. What I didn't know is taxis and Uber will definitely cost you at least $30 USD each way so that can be expensive. - The Metro (called EUR Magliana) is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. You can purchase a 48 hour ticket for 12, 50 EUR. The walk to the station is a bit sketch. You have to cross the busy street and then walk on sidewalks full of bushes and trees or doesn't have much sidewalk at all. It's a bit dangerous so you have to pay attention. I did that walk one night from the station to the hotel and didn't feel safe so I made sure to only leave and return during daylight. Staffing/Customer Service: - The staff are really nice but they need better training. - I booked a room with a King bed. Since I have Gold status I was supposedly 'upgraded' but the room I was given had a double-sized bed so it seemed more like a downgrade. There was no fancy view, not on the top floor or anything so not sure how they thought that was an upgrade. - One night I attempted to dine at the restaurant. I was seated quickly and sat there about 10 minutes or so and no waiter ever came by. They were tending to other tables and just kept walking by. I told the lady at the entrance that I'd prefer to just order room service and she said I couldn't order at the podium because she doesn't have the room service menu. We walked to the front desk and they said they don't have the room service menus and they would print one and bring it to my room in "5 minutes." 20 minutes went by no one showed up. I was tired and frustrated so I just I downloaded deliveroo and ordered McDonalds to be delivered. About 20 minutes after* I finished eating someone called me and said they can't bring me a room service menu but they could take my order over the phone. Which I thought was weird because I clearly asked could I just place my order while I was there in person. I declined and told them I already ordered and ate McDonalds - which was disappointing because I didn't travel 6,000 miles to eat McDonalds in Italy! - I actually requested to check out early because I didn't like the service. The first person I spoke to said they would let me know the next morning if I could check out without needing to pay a cancellation fee. I asked why so long and he said he was busy with other customers at the desk. He then said he can have his supervisor contact me. They contacted me within 15 minutes and said I could checkout early but would be subject to a $300+ USD fee. I agreed to pay the fee and said I want to check out in the morning and want to process the pa

Outstanding

We were among the first guests to stay at this newly opened hotel, and we were incredibly impressed with every aspect of our visit. Despite being a new establishment, there were no teething problems; the dining options from breakfast to amenities were excellent. I was particularly struck by the exquisite design of the hotel. Each of our rooms, though different in category, was beautifully designed with meticulous attention to detail, offering comfort and luxury. Traveling with my wife, our four-year-old daughter, and some friends, we found the service to be outstanding and the accommodations top-notch. Highly recommend for anyone looking for superb service and exceptional stay

Astonishing that such a high profile brand feels that a booking for a "twin bed room" is fulfilled by putting a child's single into a room with a king sized bed. When complained another small sent up

Close to the airport, so was an easy stress free rental car drive to the hotel after our flight. For people without a car there is a bit of taxi ride (10km) to the famous Roman sites downtown in the city. Hotel check-in speed was the main complaint, and not being recognized as a Marriott Gold member with no upgrade. The room was nice, clean, and at the correct temperature (however in-room safe and door keys did not work) we had a good nights sleep. The shower was one whereby you stand in the bath. The executive club lounge was not manned at the time we went, so we ended up at the bar which was excellent and the pizza restaurant by the pool which is as good as any above average restaurant in Italy. The carparking area is great and check-out was smooth. I would stay here again as a Rome airport hotel option, we all felt safe and there is nice sunset view, Suggestion - Have a couple more staff on Front desk and I would give 4/5 and if the room and features were slightly better 5/5. All staff friendly and helpful.

Total rubbish when it comes to cuisine, it's sad to see jars of all kinds opened with ready-made foods passed off as really cooked express dishes, I've worked in this hotel for more than twenty years and I've seen all sorts of things, for breakfast everything is frozen, croissants, sausages and bacon, juices are not all fresh in the bag...

Do you want to organize an event, a birthday party? Run away from this place! After visiting the room with the sales manager, asking for some photos of the setup, a quote and the IBAN for the deposit they simply disappeared, without responding to reminders even via email. Terrible experience, which also jeopardized the feasibility of an important birthday party. Never again!

They pass it off as 4 stars but it only looks like that in the photos dirty corners air conditioning that doesn't work there is no light in the rooms the only positive aspect are the girls at the reception super kind otherwise it's inconvenient even for the center there is no transport to get there except by taxi for around 100 euros

closed .. in a state of abandonment, it was sent to ruin by the managers with the excuse of covid, taking the support of the government, and firing the staff, with reopening in January 2023 with the name cardo Roma hotel, and then in turn trying to resell it.😒

Not a solution I would choose again, too much carpet, too many corridors, too much indifference. Not in optimal conditions from a maintenance point of view. Breakfast difficult to decipher; some of the things offered are excellent and others are terrible.
