It was an extended weekend family trip, so this hotel was a good fit since it was not all that far away from some interesting things, and it was priced reasonably. The room was spacious, with a plain design making it a little ugly, but it was clean and well cared for. Our view was of the apartments in the opposite buildings, but we got our views elsewhere. The bathroom was OK even if the shower doors did not close properly. They cleaned the room daily and left fresh towels, even if we did not ask for. What was really bad was the soap/shampoo that they offered. Not that it smelled bad or anything but it reminded me of the soaps hotels had in the 80s The common are was almost always busy, but the people were respectful and friendly, and left the place clean. The wifi was fast, even when using VPN like I did. Breakfast was nice, with a lot of choices and interesting flavors. But the coffee was really bad. You do not expect that in Italy, but it was from an automatic machine that made different kind of coffees, so the result was bad. The people that worked there were always smiling, were friendly and eager to help, which is something that always helps when you are staying in a foreign country. The hotel is next to a police station and the immediate area felt safe, even at night. There are homeless people close by but they never bothered us. There is also a metro station within walking distance. All in all, we had a pleasant stay and it is a great choice for a brief family vacation

I only had a short stay here but I enjoyed my time. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. It was a quirky place, easy to navigate round and I found it useful to be able to use the lockers before and after my check in/out. I found the price to be more than reasonable and would definitely recommend.

Nice friendly hostel. Late arrivals are free of charge, they hold the bed for you all night. 24hr front desk. The location is amazing. Everything is walking distance. Female-only rooms available. There is a safe near each bed and also a locker underneath for luggage (bring your own padlock or purchase one from reception for €2). The rooms are clean and the beds have attachable curtain for privacy. You also get a welcome drink at the bar for free. Recommended.

I stayed just one night in this hostel in a women's dorm. The check-in process was fine and the room itself was fine also. There are lockers to secure belongings which was good - but too small to fit a suitcase (even a small one). The bed and bathroom were clean, although no bathmat is provided so the floor becomes wet after everyone has a shower. I missed the breakfast because it only begins at 9am which is a little late if you want to get out exploring early (even an 8am breakfast would've been better, most other hostels I've been at start breakfast at 7am). There was no working AC and it was about 30 degrees so it was a very sweaty and unpleasant night. To try and cool down we left the window open - however Rome is a loud city so ear plugs were definitely needed. I felt safe within the women's dorm. However, the actual street that the hostel is on does not feel very safe - both in the daytime and certainly not in the dark as a solo young female traveller. There were a few sketchy people on the street and the street lighting was poor. There were few other businesses or people on the street so it feels deserted and made me feel vulnerable. Overall, the hostel itself is fine. The precise location didn't feel super safe as a solo traveller but would be fine in a group.

I was nervous about travelling alone for the first time, but the staff (Alessio, Flavio, Martina and Bianca) made my trip unforgettable. The team are so funny and friendly. Alessio (the bar manager) provides the most entertaining atmosphere and is a true credit to the hostel. My private room was clean and comfortable with beauty Italian decor. The guests were a mixture of solo travellers and groups (generally 20-40ish) but everybody was made to feel welcome and included. Thank you to Alessio and the team for a phenomenal experience!

The location is great because of the metro, shops and restaurants. The service is always helpful and I love talking to the Free Hostels team! The atmosphere is very good and it is good to go there when you are solo. I met a group of great people there, and I still have contact with them. :) Additionally organized events like a New Year's Eve or dinner with music is just a pretzel of fun. I personally feel safe there and always walked around by myself.

The location is very central for all tourist sites, there is no need to take any means of transport, as well as the airport bus route passes 5 minutes walking from the hotel. The hotel is very comfortable and comfortable, especially with a staff who took care of the rounds when I was present.

My 22 year old daughter stayed at the Beehive while she was traveling solo in Italy two summers ago. She loved it and can't wait to go back! Perfect location for sight-seeing, and for getting to and from the train station easily and safely. I booked this reservation for her, and was looking for a location close to the train station, safe, charming, and a place that would appeal to her without feeling stuffy, or too party-like. The Beehive met everyone of those criteria, and more! I knew she would love this hostel, and she did! The staff were lovely,so warm and friendly, and able to answer her questions. She shared her room and bathroom, all very clean, quiet, and charming. The food was delicious, and she enjoyed eating dinner with the group who was staying there. She made life long friends that summer, and once we can all travel again, she will return to Rome and is looking forward to staying at the Beehive. If you've never stayed in a hostel before, or if you're an experienced traveler, stay here! The Beehive has a cool vibe, a gracious and refined atmosphere, charm, great food, lovely hosts and staff. I think it would appeal to all ages. It is in a perfect location, in walking distance to the train station, shops, restaurants, and sight-seeing. I have enjoyed following the Beehive's Instagram and Facebook pages for a window into their world. I hope the rest of our family can visit the Beehive one day!

I was traveling alone and this hostel was in a convenient place to access the train. It was a little out of the way of most of the main sites but close enough to a metro station to walk. It was in a building with a variety of other hostels which was a little weird/confusing as the atheistic of our section (clean, modern) did not match the rest of the building (older, a bit run down). We had an issue with the door handle to our door. I reported it when I left so no idea if it was fixed or not. They had a great bathroom on our floor with individual toilet/shower stalls and lots of sinks to use. My group room was really large and had the bed was comfortable. Over all this was a good hostel but I think I could have found one that was a bit more centralized and with slightly better amenities. (Traveled Sept. 2019)

Un posticino davvero delizioso, situato in zona centrale vicinissimo alla stazione e alla fermata della metro. Camere pulite, ben arredate, silenziose e dotate di ogni comfort. Il proprietario Mabri è una persona gentilissima e disponibile, mi ha molto aiutato nell'itinerario di attrazioni da vedere a Roma. Molto consigliato, e spero di tornare presto :)
