The Britannia Inn & Waves Restaurant

A fantastic room. Huge and clean. Bed was comfy and shower powerful. A big mirror and a decent hair dryer. What more can you ask for! Staff were very friendly too. We also ate in the restaurant and the food was amazing and plentiful. Would definitely stay here again.

This is an amazing place for service and food. I talk often about Customer Service v Experience Customer Service is reactionary. It is what you need to spend money on because your customers have a problem or they are unhappy. And it’s the customers who aren’t happy who will utilise most of that resource through complaints etc. Customer experience is proactive. It’s about understanding what their journey and experience of interacting with you is like. The closer you get to creating an optimal customer experience, the less you’ll need to spend on traditional customer service. I saw Customer experience very much in evidence during our dining visit. The table next to us had small children and is as apt to happen, the kids spilt their drinks on the table. One of the staff, saw this out of the corner of her eye. She served the other table she was at, then went out to the kitchen and got some cloths to wipe away the spilled drink. This without being prompted or asked for. AMAZING And to cap it off the garlic bread is to die for. It is beautiful. We also had a great steak and a great fish meal. All served by amazing staff who left us feeling as though we'd landed on another planet. it is not often we see this sort of service in England, so it really stood out. Whatever you are doing guys, bottle it, and sell it to other business owners so they too can have service standards you exhibit.

On the way to Penryn in pouring rain we came across the ' Brittania' and pulled in hoping to get lunch. A busy bustling pub there was very little room but the staff went out of their way to find us a table. The food was excellent and the service prompt. Wifi and plenty of parking space.

Booked on a recommendation and it did not disappoint. Lovely food, we had steak and it was cooked to perfection. Desserts were the highlight for us, couldn’t decide between all the choices so bought extra to share. Lovely ambience. My only criticism would be that it was extremely hot in there. Will be returning.

VERY expensive for standard Pub Grub. 2 x Steak and Chips (not big steaks and no additional sauces) and 2 soft drinks (half pints) came to over £50.00. They also allow dogs in the eating areas. Poor on every level. Never again.

We used the Motorhome parking facilities which were great. Level pitches, toilets open all night, water and waste available. Met up with family for dinner in the evening, food was lovely and staff were very friendly, would definitely stay again and highly recommend it for anyone looking to stay in the St.Austell area.

the brit was just awesome! we were greeted by a nice waitress Kelly where she found us a table in the restaurant as we hadn’t booked. we were sat down and were offered drinks with a big smile. we got checked on every so often by kelly and asked if everything was okay with our food!! thank you so much Kelly!!! xx

Our second visit to the Britannia, the first being in the lockdown when we were only allowed in the beer garden. This time we ate in the wave’s restaurant which is very nice, it’s casual enough to call in for pub grub but stylish enough to enjoy a special occasion. Two of ordered Vegetable Madras curry, one had Chicken Tikka Masala and my wife ordered a fish special, all the food was excellent and so was the service. We recommend the Britannia.

This place has the appearance of one of the big chain pub/restaurants, but is actually much better. The room we had was fantastic, being large, modern and extremely well equipped. The service was helpful and friendly and the breakfast very good
