Spacious room although the bathroom needs renovation. We were given the room on the ground floor and the hallway smelled damp. The views from above were beautiful but you could barely see them in the room.

The room smelled musty all day, plus there were ants. On the other hand, some of the major TV networks weren't tuning in. The orange juice in the cafeteria could be improved since it does not taste like orange. The positive part is the location and views, the pool and the friendliness of the workers.

Hotel is in a stunning position but that is about the best thing. If the free coach from hotel to the small town or beach is not running then you are stuck there. The food is really not good what was not eaten at lunch was served up for dinner most of the dishes were unrecognisable. Bar service was not good if you wanted a drink between 1pm-3pm there was no service as the girl was working in the restaurant. Same problem in the Beware no English spoken apart from 1 waiter. Housekeeping was the bed was made and a fresh wc roll that was it. What a shame could be so much better. So unless you are on b&b and have a car RETHINK your plans

Location of the hotel is mid way between salobreña and Almuñécar both towns are too far away to walk and the road is very busy . In first impressions the hotel looked and felt very clean , my room had a lovely sea view , the bar and pool area were very nice , tidy and quiet . The breakfast was very good and had almost everything you would want for breakfast.

Don't waste your money here! We booked thier best suite, water for the jacuzzi tub was tepid at best, the mechanism that emptied the tub was broken so we had to leave it full, shower water was equally unpleasant in temperature. The bathroom smelt so bad with a sewage aroma it woke us in the early hours and we had to open the bathroom window and our patio doors to rid the room of the awful stench. The reception staff did not seem surprised when we shared our concerns and offered nothing more than a shrug of the shoulders and a weak apology,we left early feeling dissapointed and nauseous from breathing in the sewage fumes from the bathroom.

The location of this hotel is amazing, overlooking the beautifully lighted fort of Salobrena on one side and the coast of Nerja on the other... however suite 201 wich we were in, and it is a nice very roomy suite, has the strangest separate toilet where your knees hit the door when you close the door!! Candela at the reception, who was most helpful and very nice, tried to give us room 103 which overlooked the top of the roof of the building, and another room in the tower, which had a bed that was not big enough for a mother daughter to sleep in comfortably. So we opted with the first choice. Once in the room we tried to turn on the heating as it was a cold and windy day and it was 18 degrees and damp inside the room, but we were told that they don't turn on the heating till later that night. But again, Candela told us that others had also complained and that the hotel would turn on the heating... ours was not working properly, but was fixed quick enough so we were able to take our showers and get dressed comfortably. They serve a good breakfast and the people serving are very nice. With its amazing location, vast areas with huge terraces overlooking the sea, the size of their rooms, this could become a fabulous 5 star resort.

It was a very nice resort with gorgeous views of the sunset and sunrise. It caters to tour busses, so the meals are buffet style. We ate dinner, which was good for a buffet. It's is up on a cliff from the beach, so there's no easy beach access and it's a10 min drive from the town. Parts of the property and surroundings are falling into disrepair, but the parts where guests are staying are nice and clean.

We got married here at Salobrena Suites last weekend and we had the most amazing time. The hotel staff were fantastic, the food was fantastic and the views were amazing (see photos). The sunset over the terrace on the wedding evening, and on most evenings, was surreal. The sea most days was like a tranquil pond and we were even lucky enough to see dolphins on 2 occasions. The hotel is reasonably priced which meant it didn’t cost a fortune for our guests and they could stay a bit longer than just 1-2 nights. Most of our guests stayed 3-5 nights and they all had a great holiday. It was nice to have everyone in same hotel, and it worked really well on the day of the wedding for people to easily pop back to their room in the case of the more elderly guests and children. The hotel catering was excellent and they can easily accommodate wedding parties or family occasions. They took care of everything from the flowers to the menus which had a picture of Salobrena castle. The rooms were all a good size and well presented, including the standard rooms all with nice large bathrooms. The beds and pillows were really comfy too. Our guests all said it was one of the best weddings they had been to. We were all slightly surprised at the 3.5 rating, given the overall experience and ambiance. Possibly it is because the outside of the building is a little tired but for us it added to the traditional feel and there are some beautiful plants and trees around the hotel. It’s a short drive out of town but you can get a taxi for about €9. The breakfast is well worth it, with so much variety and the quality of food and catering is very good. I felt we were in good hands for the wedding as the team are obviously experienced and worked hard to ensure it was a great day. I would certainly recommend the hotel to anyone. They especially excel in great catering in a perfect setting so fantastic for family occasions too. They have a plan B for if the weather is bad (probably very reasonably priced too) so for winter weddings I imagine it also could work well. Even the plan B is a great option with indoor restaurants with lovely views/balcony. We will certainly be going back for family holidays to Salobrena Suites.

This hotel is the last part of Saga Tiran Jewels of Spain. Absolutely horrendous, kids screaming everywhere until 12 at might. You can't get on the pool for unsupervised kids jumping in.Queues to get into the restaurant even for saga group.Would think twice before booking anything with Saga in Spain in June
