The location is a bit far from the metro, though it's just two bus stops away. The apartment itself is quite clean and tidy, and the room is very spacious. It's equipped with a desk and cooking facilities, and offers nice mountain views. Across the street, an alley leads directly to the local market.

Having stayed in many 5 star hotels across the world, I had high hopes for the Sofia Balkan Palace, that unfortunately were only partially met. First let’s cover the good points! It feels historic without being old, and you feel like you’re really in Sofia. The best thing about the property is easily the location; it’s close to all the main tourist attractions, and there are good transport links right by the hotel, as well as access to some fantastic restaurants, coffee shops, and stores. The hotel rooms are modern and relatively clean, with the usual amenities. However, I was disappointed that housekeeping kept forgetting to replenish the complimentary daily water, as well as pay attention to the ‘Do Not Disturb’ light that I had selected for my room on a few days during my visit. I would say that one of the downsides is the customer service; although staff aren’t rude, I wouldn’t say they’re polite or overly helpful. The hotel has average soundproofing, and I was far too aware of the music outside, my neighbouring guests talking or listening to music in their rooms, as well as guests in the hallway (which is in part due to the layout of my room, which did not have an additional door between the bedroom and front door into the room). The noise outside does lessen and stop by about 11:00 PM, and sometimes by 10:00 PM (depending on the day). Overall, I’d still say it’s a good choice for your stay in Sofia. Especially if your priority is staying in a historical boutique hotel in a good location.

The hotel is located in the core area of ​​the city center, which is very convenient for travel. Parking is convenient downstairs and there is a 24-hour convenience store not far away, which is very convenient for shopping. The room is relatively old, and many Chinese people choose to stay here, but the hygiene is acceptable. There are no free toiletries and drinking water in the room, so you need to bring your own

The hotel was fully self-check-in with auto-locking doors, and no staff were present! Great value for money. There's a hairdryer available. However, the Wi-Fi wasn't working well, so I couldn't use it. They said it was under repair, so I recommend checking its status before booking! I booked a room with a window, but it couldn't be opened, and it was dark even during the day. The photos were taken at check-out, so it's a bit messy, but it was very clean when I arrived! This hotel is recommended for those who will be out and about all day, from morning till night!

Honest version: as a hotel it's a solid 3/5 — basic room, nothing fancy. But it costs about half of anything comparable nearby and the location is probably the best in Sofia, right in the center. For one night that combination is worth an extra star. One thing that annoyed me: you have to leave your key at reception every time you go out. Fine if you're leaving for a full day of walking, less fine when you just want to pop out for a bottle of water. Manage expectations on the room and you'll be happy.

Everything was good. Breakfast is in the cafe. İts not normal breakfast. You can choose and sandwixh or drinks or coffes. They give you a card. And you have limited.

Situated in the heart of Sofia, it is just steps from the Central Sofia Market Hall and the Sofia Synagogue. The Serdika Metro Station (direct link to the airport) is only a 5-7 minute walk away.

Very affordable stay within walking distance of top sights, the metro, and the airport night bus. Just a few practical tips: towels aren't provided, and you must bring your own lock for the lockers if you have valuables. There’s no elevator, so carrying heavy bags up to the top floor (where reception, kitchen, and common area are located) is a workout. The nearby street is also quite dimly lit at night, so solo female travelers shouldn't wander back too late. Great budget option if you come prepared!

A lot to love but some big problems too. Amazing location, great big room, and very easy check-in. Love that there's a sofa in the room and a fridge. Problems: - A/C (Or a pump of some sort) extremely loud from 6am in our room (3) and made sleeping impossible, extremely annoying. It lasted hours. - Bathroom had a bad smell like sewage, constantly. - No shower curtain turned the bathroom into a lake every time we showered, even when trying to be careful.
