Reviews of James Blue Hostel

The owner/manager provide good service to us as customer, he/she would ask where we would go and tell us the easy way. The counter might not had staff there, but they would come from the room behind and give support whichever necessary. This provide us the chance to sightseeing much more easy. This is a good place for hotel accommodation.

Very friendly stuff, they have breakfast with toast & jam, coffee, juice . Clean room, good location near the bus station.

Perfect place 

I chose this place based on location and price, but I was surprised by how old the facilities were. The room key was also old-fashioned. However, there are many foreign guests. The location is good because it is close to Sokcho Tourist Market.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hostel!! Spacious room, comfortable beds, comfortable shower!! They provided three towels per person, toothbrushes, and even a washcloth. The staff was friendly, and James spoke excellent English – he gave us a tourist map and told us which places to visit in Sokcho. There's a bus stop nearby for buses to Seoraksan. Breakfast at the hostel includes coffee, tea, bread, toasters, milk, and cereal. We only stayed for one night, but we had a wonderful rest, and if we come back to Sokcho, we'll definitely stay with James again!! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The owner was kind, the room heater worked well, and it was close to the city center, making it convenient for traveling. I would like to book again next time.

I was satisfied with the ample parking space and the cleanliness of the accommodation. I was secretly looking forward to the breakfast, but it was so lacking that it hardly deserved to be called breakfast. I think it would be much better if the room key were changed to a combination lock or a card key. It was a fun trip with my friends.

I was traveling alone, and the owner was kind. However, it was a rainy day, and I slipped and sprained my ankle because of the wet stairs.. ㅠㅠ

Hotel at the beginning of the main street. Close to the intercity bus station and other bus stops. Room with two comfortable beds. En-suite bathroom with soap, towels, and a hairdryer. There is a shared lounge and kitchen for guests.

Great hotel. Very hospitable owner, although we did not see each other, but was always in touch in the chat. Nearby bus stop, minimarket. Not far from the embankment, all kinds of snack bars. Everything you need in the hotel. On the ground floor there is a dining room where you can use a microwave and a kettle, here in the morning breakfast (cereals, milk, toast, tea, coffee). In the room there is a large bed, shower gel, disposable toothbrushes with paste, many sockets, towels. If I am in Sokcho again - I will definitely stay here!

They are very professionals, we did not have to wait long when we checked - in, they directly gave us the key of our room, the fastest process we have ever experienced. Although the room is a little bit small, but it's very clean with a flat TV, the staffs are very friendly and helpful although they cannot speak English. We must clean up our own room once we check-in. The shower room - toilet is spacious enough and clean equipped with liquid bath soap and shampoo, towels, toothbrushes. They provides breads, coffee, tea, orange juice and free - flow drinking water. We can use the dining room anytime we want. The location is close to a convenient store, Fishery Market, Sokcho Lighthouse observatory, and the Intercity bus terminal. We would definitely stay here again in the future.
