This is a hotel with many problems. First of all, it is better to stop those with heavy luggage. Even after getting off the elevator, there were many stairs to the room. Since it is a carpet, it is difficult to roll the suitcase. There is no problem for the strong man. I couldn't see the sea from the room I was addressed to (I could see it a little if I looked through the window), and it was a land view under construction across the street. It may be because check-in was late. Ideal for those who do not have UV allergies. The room was full of dust. I was coughing with dust. I think that there is no problem for those who do not have house dust allergies. But the biggest problem is that security is too loose. You will not be required to show your passport to verify your identity at check-in. There is always a cheap hotel in any developing country. There is no password on WiFi. The plug converter I brought from Japan didn't fit, so I was told to go out to the town and buy it if I couldn't rent it. Great for walk lovers. I didn't sell it in my neighborhood, so I took a taxi to a supermarket. It was fun to see various foods, but only the type B cable is directly connected to the plug, and it costs £ 10 (about 1650 yen at that time), so it is a ridiculous expense, so it corresponds to the old type BF in Japan. You had better buy a plug. It happened that the mobile battery was compatible with B, so it was pretty good, but C and lightning were sold out, so it is dangerous. I couldn't use the multi-type BF that I brought with me to the hotel of the previous night and the hotel of the next night, but this can also be used when traveling by train. Unlike Japan, there are no USB outlets everywhere, and instead there are many outlets so you can charge your mobile from there. The area around the water is beautiful, but the shower head is 159 cm in a place where I can stretch out and take it, and it is strict for short people. not. Tedious. And although this is completely self-sufficient, I was exhausted and forgot to put the carry-on case in the room because there were many stairs. The man at the front desk was struck by the fact that such a thing had not arrived by phone or face-to-face, so I asked the housekeeping woman because I was suspicious, and then I tagged the hotel photo and lamented my stupidity on Twitter. After posting, it became a topic about security cameras, and I found it 15 minutes later! Was contacted to the room. I found out just 10 minutes ago that someone found it first and put it away! It was brightly conveyed as if it was attached. Is this because ... I noticed the tagging and translated it? I doubted. When I checked out the next day, when I checked in my luggage, I confirmed that there was a clear luggage space right next to the front desk, so I was even more suspicious. Also, when I checked in, I didn't have to confirm the voucher, name, room number, etc. As an aside, when I needed scissors, I asked the same man at the front desk if I could lend them, and he said, "It's not possible due to security issues." It seems that if you go to the bottom, it will cut it, but I gave up first and stopped thinking what is security. After that, he had decided to ignore me with a good attitude, which made me more suspicious. There was evidence that the case was about to open. I chose it because it was the model for Agatha Christie's work, but except for those who are physically and mentally tough, there are a lot of dust and stairs, a shower that is too dangerous if you are not tall, and serious security problems. So I can't recommend it at all. Housekeepers are friendly and helpful.

Fantastic views, clean bedroom , comfy good quality bedding, reasonable breakfast buffet. Poor infrastructure - scruffy, heating on timers, pool broken plus charge for parking!

The staff were more than helpful in all respects. Accommodation just what we needed - spectacular view across Torbay, comfortable bed, spacious bathroom. Room service (for our arrival lunch) was good, as was the afternoon tea. High quality in lots of small ways - all of which add up to a great stay, even for just one night.

Fantastic hotel. The room with a sea view was fabulous. Good facilities that were clean and tidy. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Had a spa treatment that was fantastic. The breakfast was the best we’ve ever had at a hotel, so much choice. Bar food was vary nice. Will definitely stay again.

Just a one nighter to chill out, booked what was stated as a cosy room but it was far bigger than expected. Pool is a nice bonus but staff in leisure club could be a bit more cheerful. Only issue encountered was the shower ran scolding hot at around 9.45am, it was ok 15 mins later so probably just down to high usage across hotel. Not great if you are travelling with children. Also paid parking is a bit of a con as it never used to be chargeable. Hotels ok, not what it was in its prime but clean and better than a lot given the low cost (55.00). Overall a decent one nighter!

Staff lovely and checkin easy. Great sized room but couldn’t go out on balcony because of maintenance. Room service limited and no menu in room. Very old fashioned tired hotel and definitely needs a revamp. My whole group for work stayed so not just my opinion. Room service quality was good. And room view incredible. Also the bed was comfy. Bathrooms look like something out of the 1980s

Comfortable feel to the hotel. Lovely big room with sea view across the bay. Very convenient for walking down to the Marina and local Restaurant's.

Lovely hotel only 5 minutes walk from the harbour area. It's on the hill above the harbour, so there's an incline to get to it, but that means the views over Torquay are amazing. Staff were very nice and super helpful. Spa facilities are a little bit dated, but it looks like they are currently being updated. Breakfast buffet was amazing.. I'd definitely recommend this hotel.

A lovely hotel. Our room was brilliant, tastefully decorated and a great view of the sea. The breakfast room overlooks the sea and there is so much choice.

When we first got to the hotel ,I was kind of asking my self I went was at the right place , as the outside seemed quite out dated , but then I guess the hotel has history , but the inside deco was nice , sometimes it felt like you was going in to Titanic, I found the food to be ok , but limited , the best thing about our room was the view to be honest , the balcony door wouldn't lock at all and doesn't looked like it's ever been fixed like the handles was ready to drop , TV was pretty small considering the size of room , the bed was two singles put together , the table to eat and drink was wobbly that we had to hold one leg with our feet , the bathroom was ok , I guess I expected a lil more , the gym was very small and very limited, but what i will say is the staff was lovely and very polite , for views it's great , only a few minor things need adjusting

Stayed in a sea view room. Sadly it was on the ground floor and had a limited sea view from a building right on the waters edge

Excellent experience from arrival to departure - especially considering the price we paid. Will return for another short break.
