Donna Nega Alojamento Local ★★★

📍 Av. Joaquim Maria Portela 199, Seixas, Lanhelas

"Such a unique and period stay, stunning river views, amazing walks nearby and so many market towns and villages nearby with the beach a stone’s throw away by car. Would definitely repeat."

Pousada de Valença

Pousada de Valença ★★★★

📍 Largo de Santa Maria dos Anjos, Valenca

"There can be no better location within Valença. The hotel offers breathtaking views of the river and Spanish Galicia. The staff were friendly and attentive: assisting with my onward travel and kindly offering me a coffee on the way out. Breakfasts were rich and had something for every taste."

Inatel Cerveira Hotel

Inatel Cerveira Hotel ★★★★

📍 - Vila Nova de Cerveira, Lovelhe

"- Hotel well located near the town to go by car, with free outdoor parking. - Breakfast is good and plentiful. - Be careful when you are leaving, because the pool may not be available or be under construction and the hotel does not warn you on its website. - The air conditioning does not work as such, since it is programmed to only come out hot or cold, that is, the client cannot set the temperature they want in their room. - At reception there is some unpleasant person to serve the public."

Hotel Lara

Hotel Lara ★★★

📍 Av. Bombeiros Voluntarios, Valenca

"Stayed here for several nights and found the rooms adequate with a comfortable bed and place to sit. It is located just outside the old town and is an easy walk from both the bus and train station. It is also near a good supermarket and there are several restaurants nearby. Breakfast was adequate, although there was no plain yoghurt on the last day and the hot selection was not in Bain Marie's so went cold quickly (the bacon and scrambled eggs were nice). Rooms could be improved with a small fridge and kettle and I don't like this habit in Portugal of providing paper cups individually wrapped in plastic. It was good to see that they didn't provide bottled water (the tap water is perfectly fine to drink or, if you must, but your own). Staff were not overly friendly, especially the older male on reception. That said, would I stay there again, yes as it was good value for money (I booked direct, which is unusual for me) as the price was much better."

Hotel Vasco Da Gama

Hotel Vasco Da Gama

📍 Av. José Pereira Troncoso, 18, Sabaris

"This place is a treasure and such a great/lucky find for us. We had no recommendations and didn’t know what we were going to but this was our favourite place to stay so far on our Camino journey. It was really clean and spacious, warm and hospitable! The owner is so accommodating and friendly and the breakfast was perfect for the day of walking ahead. I would recommend this place to any pilgrim that wants a comfortable homely stay. There’s also lovely places for food/drink on the road right by it and we had a great conversation with a family in the bar just up the road. Such a friendly and restful town that only adds to the excellent experience of our stay here!! Thank you so much for having us!!"

Hotel H4 Cangas 3 Superior

Hotel H4 Cangas 3 Superior ★★★

📍 Rúa Da Granxa, 34, Cangas de Morrazo

"Great hotel 1. Dog-friendly (we were with a big dog :). 2. Huge parking. 3. We took half-board — breakfast and dinner. Dinner is a la carte from 20:30 to 22:30. You choose starter + main course + dessert, plus a glass of wine/beer/water is included. Everything was very tasty! We also had lunch in the restaurant once — the food was always fresh, big portions, and very fast service. 4. Very friendly staff. 5. Clean rooms and common areas. We didn't hear the neighbors at all, even though the hotel was almost full. 6. The Deluxe room is very big. The photos only show the bathtub in the room, but there is also a shower. Also, the Deluxe room had a fridge. Minuses: only private houses nearby, no other cafes around, but we knew this when we chose the hotel :)"

Colón Tuy ★★★
"Good afternoon. While walking the Camino de Santiago, we stayed overnight at the Hotel Colón. The combination of a comfortable room, the warm welcome from the two receptionists, the precise and specific information about the city, and the generous, abundant, and delicious breakfast gives us the opportunity to congratulate the team. Greetings, The Four Canary Islanders, Antonio Arencibia"

Pousada de Valença ★★★★
"On arrival we discovered this pousada is a franchise and not fully part of the Pestana group. So, no Pestana points for a stay here. Hadn’t noticed that explained anywhere on the Pestana website. The location within the old fort is unbeatable with some rooms having views across the river to Tui in Spain. Our superior room with balcony was spacious and well decorated. Bed and bedding were both good. Bathroom was clean and spacious although it’s the only Pousada we’ve stayed at with a plastic shower curtain rather than glass screen. Also only soap, no body lotion or other toiletries provided, no bathrobes etc. Breakfast had considerably fewer options than other Pousadas and no staff regularly monitoring and topping up but there were very few staff and few guests. Reception and other staff were all friendly and helpful. The hotel is apparently in a transition phase so the bar and restaurant were also closed on some days. If these things are important to you, check before booking. Overall, the hotel seemed comparatively overpriced and very understaffed. Not a special stay"

"Terrible quality Year after year, quality drops. Cannot be assigned 4 stars. Flies around the food, poor breakfast, with little variety. Cold and poor quality dinners. It's a shame for the people who pay their dues. Anyway, nothing recommended."

Hotel Lara ★★★
"We checked into Hotel Lara after our 4th day of walking the Camino. We had experienced outstanding accommodation along the way with well trained staff. At Hotel Lara we were met (not welcomed) by an older male receptionist who seemed quite dismissive. The hotel is outdated and in need of a good clean and refurbishment. We were allocated a room on the first floor which was facing a busy main road. The room was spartan to say the least. No fresh/bottled water, fridge, tea/coffee facilities and two cheap plastic wrapped paper cups in the bathroom. The bed however, was comfortable and the breakfast room had a good selection food. We were not acknowledged or welcomed by the staff serving breakfast. This hotel is situated in the downtown area of Valença. If staying Valenca, search for accommodation in the old town or even Tui, which is approximately 1km down the road. We don’t recommend this establishment ."

Hotel Vasco Da Gama ★
"Most memorable stay on the Camino. Better than the Parador! If possible stay on a Saturday night when owner hosts a magical Queimada ceremony for guests including music, singing, story telling, and dance. Relax with a drink in the peaceful garden. Enjoy breakfast with local avocado, kiwi, yogurt, etc. The proprietor will do anything for you- his heart and soul are devoted to serving guests."
