Pear Tree Inn

It smelled bad in the hallway areas, and the bed linen smelled like it hadn’t been washed properly. The accommodation area was quite depressing, and I wish I had stayed elsewhere.

The bed wasn't comfortable, pillows lumpy, duvet too thin. The shower overflowed, it seemed to be the drain rather than the shower tray The entrance to the room is via a fire escape, on a wet night with bags wasn't ideal

Mediocre food, not enough fish and vegetarian options just halal meat which doesn’t cater to all. Good customer service not provided and only bothered about taking the money. They add service charge for appalling service and when we pointed out it’s optional not mandatory to pay and upon informing the staff member this, he then got the manager to come over but he didn’t waive it but pressured my husband to pay it and said it’s compulsory to pay! Absolutely disgusting and appalling behaviour! I’m sure this isn’t allowed as all restaurants can charge service charge but it’s optional and customers are in their right to not pay if service or food is rubbish! They charge under £3 for a cucumber salad and can’t spell it properly on their menus. I’m sure they can’t legally pressure customers to pay service charge as it’s optional for customers to decide if they want to pay based on the food and service received. £145 later and the food wasn’t great, limited options. Stay away and save your money to go elsewhere!

Excellent location for our day at Hatfield House. Only one drawback was that we had to enter our rooms via the fire escape which had 2 flights of metal stairs which was quite difficult in the rain carrying suitcases. Otherwise everything else was good. The staff were lovely and very professional.

Highly recommend the Pear Tree Inn. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. They have combined a traditional British pub with an excellent Indian restaurant. The food is lovely. The rooms are clean and comfortable

I spent a night here in December, a bit before Chris**as time, during a business trip. The Inn is on top of a pub but, to my surprise, it is amazingly quiet. Amazing staff, very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well equipped, and it included standard hotel amenities. The bed was comfortable and the temperature was perfect: I slept better than I have in other more famous hotels. I also discovered that the Pear Tree Inn has appeared in 2013 movie The World's end. Overall I had a great stay and I can only recommend the Pear Tree Inn.

Me and my girl friend went yesterday to one of the nearest pub which serves indian cuisine. Ordered lollipop chicken and home made Somoza chat. Both recognized me home away from home. Especially I had requested for street style chicken fried rice. They don't have it in menu but we have one amazing guy ni****h who helped us to take order out of menu and it was simply recognized me the Desi street food . Special thanks to chef and ni****h. The games over there helps you to engage with others.

The barmen are super friendly. Great Indian food , had amazing dinner 🔥 The prices for the food are also very reasonable Room was huge and cozy. Will definitely be back for a stay when in the uk..

We booked here as we were attending an event in nearby Knebworth, the pub and beer garden are both lovely and staff seemed welcoming, we didn’t spend much time here just had a couple of drinks before leaving for the event, pub seemed clean and well maintained, there was a BBQ going on in the beer garden for the jubilee celebrations, people seemed to be enjoying themselves, the room was fine for a one night stay, everything we needed for the stay and nice and clean, tea and coffee making facilities, shower gel etc included, the only downside was the size of the bed as it was on the small side but again it was fine for one night, I’d stay here again if I was back in the area.
