Day trip to the city of Bruges
It’s a very chilly and rainy morning but we still made it to the city of Bruges!
There’s a long walk of beautiful greeneries before you can actually reach Bruge. And before that, there’s the Lovers’ Bridge!
Bruge itself is a huge circle, so it’s easy to walk anywhere. It has many canals here lined up with medieval houses and it’s also dubbed as the “Venice of the North”.
Due to the amount of canals, there’s also many “canal tours” one can partake in, there will be a guide to tell you about the history of Bruge as you traverse from canal to canal.

The Church of Our Lady in the ancient city of Bruges, Belgium, was built in the thirteenth century and is the tallest brick church in continental Europe. The towering towers are majestic and can be seen anywhere in the ancient city. There is a famous art treasure in the church: Michelangelo's "Mother and the Holy Child", this is the only Michelangelo statue outside Italy. At the central altar there is also a statue of Charlie Charlie and his daughter Burgundy Mary, which is also very beautiful.
Basilica of the Holy Blood Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Basilica of the Holy Blood
A stunning piece of European culture, beauty, and history. Be sure to visit both the ground level and the first floor; they are both interesting and impressive in their own distinctive and different ways. In the church on the first floor, you can see a vial holding a piece of cloth with the blood of Jesus Christ on it. Free to visit the church, small fee to visit the treasure room. I didn’t do the latter so I can’t comment on that part.
