Depart from the South Gate and it's a 40min journey! A hidden gem with few people, perfect for camping and playing in the water

I recommend a treasure spot for a trip around Chengdu, just 40min from the South Gate! You can reach the Xinjin Bamboo Forest, a great place for summer walks, avoiding the heat, camping, and playing in the water with kids. Address: Xinjin Bamboo Forest Admission: Free Parking: There are North and South Gates (recommended to park at the Bamboo Forest South Gate, it's close to the big lawn and there's a shallow stream nearby) Recommended Reason Here you have a huge lawn, lakes, a secret bamboo forest, a large banana plantation, and it's super photogenic. There's also a shallow stream that kids love to play in. You can fish and catch shrimp, and crabs here (For a detailed guide, refer to a previous post about the Yangma River outside the Bamboo Forest) There are also many snails, which provide a great experience for the kids. The shade coverage is quite high here, so it's not too sunny, and if you go early, you can pick a good spot to walk with the kids. Tips1!! The weather is getting hotter, so pay attention to sun protection, especially for kids with sun hats. The vegetation coverage in the park is high, so there are many mosquitoes. Remember to bring mosquito repellent. Prepare water play tools for the kids, like water guns and fishing nets, and bring an extra set of clothes. Be safe when playing in the water! Outside the Bamboo Forest park, there's also a river where you can play, catch crabs, camp, barbecue, and fish.
