Sheep & Pig (Tin Hau)

Just by looking at the name, it’s hard to tell that @sheep_n_pig is actually a small cafe in Tin Hau serving up innovative yoshoku (Western-influenced Japanese 🇯🇵 cuisine) 😂 When we came for a weekday dinner, the 💛 diner was nearly full, so it’s best to make a reservation in advance. Upon being seated, the friendly waitress walked us through the chef recommendations and seasonal dishes written on a blackboard near the entrance 🤓 [ᴘʀᴀᴡɴ ꜱᴀʟᴀᴅ] The two plump prawns were lightly seared and thoughtfully peeled 🦐 The tangerine dressing was quite refreshing and not too sour, making this a nice appetizer to start our meal. [ꜱʜᴇᴇᴘ ᴀɴᴅ ᴘɪɢ ʀᴏʟʟ] The food plating was impeccable and it tasted just as good as it looked 🤤Crunchy fried shrimp, raw smooth tuna and soft buttery avocado wrapped in pink soy paper and dipped in mayonnaise - this was the main highlight of our dinner 🥳 Kudos to the chef for accommodating our non-spicy request! [ᴊᴀᴘᴀɴᴇꜱᴇ ꜱᴛʏʟᴇ ᴅᴏɴʙᴜʀɪ] The iron steak slices were perfectly cooked to medium rare, so the meat was quite tender but still fleshy 🥩 The only drag was that there could have been more sauce - be sure to mix the shredded lettuce, slow cooked egg and rice thoroughly for more flavor! [ʙᴇʟɢɪᴀɴ ᴡᴀꜰꜰʟᴇ] After seeing this dessert being served to another table, we were super tempted to order the limited dish. There are 3 ice cream flavors available: Fuji apple, tofu and chocolate 🍎 We chose the first one, and the fruity flavor was so prominent that it felt like we were eating a real apple!
