Two beautiful bamboo groves in Dalian, the second one is little known

Bamboo is rare in large groves in the climate conditions of Northeast China, and thick bamboo is even rarer. Compared to other parts of Northeast China, Dalian’s climate is much warmer, so wild bamboo can often be seen here. Even in Dalian, bamboo groves of a significant scale are rare. Today, I recommend two relatively large bamboo groves that are great for photography, and many locals haven’t even seen the second one. The first bamboo grove is located in the Botanical Garden of Nanshan, Dalian. The Botanical Garden is well known, and hidden here is a bamboo garden. Some say it feels like Du Fu’s Thatched Cottage, so it is also called the Dalian version of Du Fu’s Thatched Cottage. Although the bamboo in the Botanical Garden is relatively thin, the area is still quite large. There are paths lined with bamboo on both sides, stone tables and chairs within the grove, and a grass pavilion. Overall, it has a very special atmosphere. According to reports, the Botanical Garden bamboo grove includes species suitable for growth in Dalian such as early garden bamboo, ruozhu bamboo, golden bamboo, luohan bamboo, purple bamboo, and jin zhen yu bamboo. Honestly, I can’t tell the species apart, but they look beautiful. If anyone knows, please share with everyone. The second bamboo grove features especially tall bamboo, probably the tallest I’ve seen in Dalian. This grove is located on Xinshidao Street, in front of the Dalian Heating Company, and it’s quite spectacular. To protect this bamboo grove from damage, visitors are not allowed to enter it. Although this is a pity, it is understandable. If people could walk inside, it might have already been destroyed. Even from a close distance, you can feel the charm of the bamboo. We have always had a special affection for bamboo, especially its qualities, which have inspired many poets and scholars. I’m sure many people can recite a few lines of poetry about bamboo.
