It is joined to land by two bridges from nearby Tongyeong. Gohyeon is the largest town on the island. There are a lot of beautiful places to visit in South Korea, however, Geoje Island seems to be one that is most overlooked by tourists. There is a huge expat community in Geoje which makes it ideal for many retirees, English teachers, and visitors as well. We met many Koreans who spoke English quite well and were very welcoming to many foreigners in the area.
