Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Guizhou | Minority Ethnic Group: Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village
The Chinese culture integrates various ethnic groups, and one interesting destination during travel is the settlements of minority ethnic groups, such as the Tibetan, Miao, Yi, Qiang, Korean, etc. These are generally located in border areas and indeed have quite different living habits from the Han nationality.
Guizhou is one of the main distribution areas of the Miao nationality, and Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village is the largest settlement here. It takes about four hours to get there from Guiyang. The entrance has a large sign that reads 'Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village', and the back of the ticket has a complete tourist map of the scenic area ❤️
A half-day cultural journey might look like this: Take a leisurely walk and snap photos all the way to the highest point for a panoramic view of the entire village. You can change into Miao ethnic clothing for beautiful pictures. After descending, sit in the central square of the village. The square has regular activities such as Miao dance performances or rice drying. If interested, you can also join in the dance 💃, enjoying a leisurely half-day 👍

You should visit Guizhou at least once, and experience the day and night of the Qianhu Miao Village!!
It turns out that the off-season is the correct way to visit the Qianhu Miao Village of Xijiang❗️||🏠Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village
🚗About transportation:
Take the high-speed rail to Kaili South Station!
❗️There is a bus ticket office on the left side of the high-speed rail station: 18/person (but there is a timetable, it seems to be one and a half hours)
❗️If the departure time is close to the departure time, then I strongly recommend taking the bus! There is really no need to take a black car, the bus can directly send to the west gate or north gate, both gates will stop
-
🚪About which door to enter:
Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village has two gates, west gate and north gate
I sincerely recommend going in and out of the north gate
Because the west gate must go through a commercial street that lasts for seven or eight minutes,
The commercial street is really really very⬇️ Head
If you are dragging a suitcase, it is even more difficult
-
🚌About sightseeing car:
After entering the scenic area, you have to take a sightseeing car to enter the village
I can only say that the money that should be spent still has to be spent
-
🏘️About accommodation:
Accommodation is not recommended! The best view is with a balcony
If there are not too many requirements, it is enough to suggest halfway up the mountain
Living too high is really really hard to climb
-
🍽️About eating:
For friends who come to Guizhou for the first time, I recommend sour soup beef or local stir-fry
-
📝Note tips:
There are really few people going in the off-season
Accommodation and eating are relatively convenient
It is best to find a sunny day to go
The experience on a rainy day should not be too good
The village is quite commercial, but I personally think it is very beautiful and worth it! The stilted buildings are very beautiful and the photos are very good. It is a good choice to go on a sunny day for a weekend. It is not as unbearable as the Internet says
There will be some performances at a fixed time
Try to bring as little luggage as possible. It is really hard to walk with a suitcase on the road in the village. If there is really a lot of luggage, try to choose a homestay that can help with luggage
Remember to wear a pair of comfortable shoes

The best place for a three-day and two-night summer vacation study tour with kids—Wujiang Village||Brother's kindergarten graduation trip
||Brother's kindergarten graduation trip.
If you take a late flight from Xiamen to Guiyang, stay at Guiyang East Station (Mediterranean Hotel)
I must say this hotel is really cheap and clean, right next to the East Station
It's a 20-minute drive from Guiyang Longdongbao Airport
The next day, take the 9:17 am high-speed train, arrive at Zunyi South Station in half an hour, and take a taxi to Wujiang Village West Village Entrance (20 minutes by car)
This time we booked the Qian Shuyuan Hotel (highly recommended for families) Arrive at the West Village Entrance to check in and arrange for luggage to be delivered to the hotel
You can also take the shuttle bus back to the hotel with your luggage
(We carried our luggage back to the hotel ourselves because the luggage arrived later than us) We arrived at the hotel around 11 am
That's when the performance programs start
Every day in the village, from 11 am to 10 pm, the schedule of each time slot is very tight You can follow Wujiang Village's official WeChat account
to check attractions, hotels, food, leisure and entertainment, and more, all with navigation included, which is very convenient
It's recommended to watch all the shows on the first day you arrive so that you don't have to rush the next day
The performances that are really worth watching include
Bamboo drifting (an intangible cultural heritage project) where kids are amazed, the Bafang Banquet folk performance (not recommended for dining), the Lantern Ceremony, the Music Water Dance Show, the Drone Bonfire Party
Honestly, the quality of the programs in Wujiang Village is very high, kids can experience various folk cultural performances during the day, wander around the village
Feel the traditional artistic aesthetics between the mountains and rivers in a stilted building
At night, the night view of Wujiang Village and the drones will definitely make your trip worthwhile

🚗Highlights:
National 5A level scenic spot, there are two original stone steles at the head of the bridge, one is the 'Repair Monument', inscribing the merit of building the bridge; the other is the 'Everlasting Prosperous Bridge Monument', engraved with the couplet 'Thousands of years of mountain rocks and waves, ten thousand years of Resounding River Bridge'. The bridge has seven holes, commonly known as the 'Small Seven Holes Ancient Bridge'.
🎫Ticket Information:

✨Travel Suggestions:
It is recommended to drive by yourself. It takes about 30 minutes to drive from Libo County to the Small and Big Seven Holes. When you arrive at the entrance of the scenic area, take the scenic bus on the left to the Small Seven Holes, and the Big Seven Holes is on the right for walking. There are small electric cars to shuttle between the various attractions of the Small Seven Holes, or you can walk, but it is quite far. It is recommended to take the sightseeing car at any time. The most famous is still the Small Seven Holes Bridge, of course, there will be a lot of people taking pictures on the bridge.

Places you must visit in your lifetime
If you have been to three, you can show off in front of your friends; if you can go to more than half, then you are the king of the travel industry.
1. Mount Laojun: Located in Henan, Mount Laojun is a real palace in the sky. The mountains here are green and the temples are solemn, giving a mysterious and quiet feeling. It is worth mentioning that it is not open to foreigners.
2. The Forbidden City: The glory and shock of the Forbidden City are indescribable. Walking in this former royal palace, you will deeply understand the profound cultural heritage of the Chinese nation.
3. Jiuzhaigou: After returning from Jiuzhaigou, you will not look at water, and after returning from the Five Mountains, you will not look at mountains. The lakes, waterfalls, and colorful forests of Jiuzhaigou make people feel like they are in a fairyland on earth.
4. Changbai Mountain: You must bring your loved one here, the whole Tianchi and water monsters are confessing to you. In winter, Changbai Mountain is covered with snow, like a beautiful painting.
5. Libo Xiaoqikong: The emerald left by God in the world. It combines the mountains and waters of Zhangjiajie and Jiuzhaigou, which is very beautiful.
6. Wuyuan: Half mountain mist and half mountain yellow, better than the living paradise on earth. The rural scenery of Wuyuan is simple and elegant, intoxicating.
7. Enshi: Go to Xianbenna in China, cross the Pingshan Grand Canyon, and stay in the cliff glass house in the heart of the earth valley. The landscape here is so beautiful that it makes people's hearts move.
8. Hulunbuir: Here, you can ride a horse on the grassland and feel the freedom of the wind. Blue sky, white clouds, green grass, constitute the unique magnificent scenery of Hulunbuir.
The above 8 places, both the natural wonders and the treasures of the world. Walking through these places, you will gain a unique travel memory. In the future, why not include them one by one and become the king of the travel industry.

May Day holiday is over, we avoided the peak travel season and signed up for a group tour to Guizhou that we had been longing for on Ctrip. Some experiences: 1. The cheap air tickets booked on Ctrip, the outbound flight of 9 Yuan Airlines was delayed for three hours, and we arrived at the hotel after 11 pm. The return flight of West Air was delayed for more than an hour, and we arrived home at almost 1 am. The seats could only be at a right angle, which was uncomfortable for me with protruding intervertebral discs, neither standing nor sitting. 2. Very tired! Average of over 20,000 steps per day, mostly climbing mountains! The first day at Huangguoshu Waterfall was okay, the waterfall was quite magnificent, but we, in our seventies, were deterred by the Water Curtain Cave. The second day at Fanjing Mountain, it was cloudy at the foot of the mountain and raining on the mountain. After hearing from young people who came down from the mountain with strong bodies, "I didn't see anything!" we took the cable car back without hesitation. None of the people who continued to climb the mountain reached the summit, and most of them returned disappointed after reaching the Mushroom Stone. They regretted it and were fortunate for their foresight. 😄 (It is said that there are 300 days a year when you can't see the scenery). In the morning of the third day, we visited the ancient town of Zhenyuan, which left a good impression. There were few people, it had history and heritage, and the commercial atmosphere was not too strong. No need to climb mountains, suitable for the elderly. In the afternoon, Qianhu Miao Village had too strong a commercial atmosphere, and the commercial street was full of humanistic landscapes created for tourism. There were photo studios everywhere renting Miao costumes for taking pictures. We experienced the long table banquet and had a good time. The night view was lively, suitable for young people. On the fourth day, we visited the Seven Small Arches, with the small arches as the main attraction. It was indeed a bit like what the tour guide said: looking up to Zhangjiajie, looking down to Jiuzhaigou, and enjoying the pleasant scenery of small Guizhou in the middle. Guizhou Province is not small, but Jiuzhaigou is more magnificent and colorful. If you can't go to Jiuzhaigou, go to Seven Small Arches. 3. The accommodation was okay, especially for the first three days. Qianhu Miao Village was the worst, with a slight smell of sewage, and we could still hear people talking in the corridor at one or two o'clock in the middle of the night. I don't know if it's because the room faces the corridor and has bad feng shui. 4. There are many Guizhou snacks, some of which are delicious, such as the pie with meat filling. Some people like to eat sausage and intestine noodles, but most of them don't suit their taste, especially the folded ear root, which is absolutely delicious for Guizhou people. 4. Our tour guide was quite responsible and attentive, and the young driver's service attitude was funny and cute. I have selected a few photos of Seven Small Arches and Zhenyuan Ancient City. In short, avoid the peak travel season for tourist attractions!

Zhaoxing Village Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
High-speed trains reach the edge of time, where villages heal with the warmth of human life
Liping County is a mountainous area, and Zhaoxing Dong Village is located in a narrow valley within these mountains.
Due to the terrain, the buildings in the village are densely packed, and the terraced fields are built along the slopes.
Standing at the entrance of the village and looking out, the green rice fields in summer reflect the simple and robust village gate, which is very picturesque.
Zhaoxing Dong Village is divided into five major clans, each living in five different areas, locally known as 'tuan'.
Naturally, there are five drum towers, five flower bridges, and five stages. The drum tower is the architectural and cultural center of the Dong Village.
After dinner, I happened to catch the sunset. The entire Dong Village, whether it's the upturned eaves of the drum towers or the flower bridges over the water, was covered in a warm hue. In an instant, the village came to life, as if the little figures on a music box had been wound up and started moving.
Even the ordinary fruit and vegetable stalls, with the blessing of the sunset, looked even more fresh and inviting. And at dinner time, the smoke from the cooking fires, or the snack carts being pushed out, along with the lively cries of vendors, were not noisy but lively.
Such endearing scenes of everyday life are forever etched in my heart, the most beautiful moment of Zhaoxing Dong Village.

Departing from Guangzhou | A spontaneous 2-day trip to Zhaoxing Dong Village
| A spontaneous 2-day trip to Zhaoxing Dong Village. Departing from Guangzhou | A spontaneous 2-day trip to Zhaoxing Dong Village || Inspired by the cloud sea sunrise at Tang'an terraced fields, I impulsively started this weekend trip to Zhaoxing Dong Village. It was my first time buying a high-speed train ticket without any travel planning, and unexpectedly, it turned out to be a pleasant and happy journey.
🚄High-speed train travel
After exiting the station, turn right and follow the signs to buy a minibus ticket to the Dong Village. The driver will stop along the way for us to buy tickets (Guangdong residents can get free admission with their ID card), and the minibus drop-off point in the Dong Village is also where you catch the return minibus to the high-speed train station. It takes about 10 minutes from the Dong Village to the high-speed train station, and it is recommended to allow 1 hour for the return minibus trip, as the departure times are not fixed, with buses approximately every 20 minutes.
💃Entertainment
1⃣️ Watch the sunset at Tang'an terraced fields
✨ Minibus posters to Tang'an terraced fields can be seen everywhere in the village, with a round-trip cost of 20 yuan. It's better to find a chartered car, especially during peak times when there may be long queues.
✨ After the minibus arrives, you still need to walk a bit to reach Tang'an terraced fields. A private car costs 5 yuan, but it's recommended to walk as the scenery along the way is beautiful and the distance is short. (It's suggested to take the car between 4 and 4:30 PM, so you can stroll around the village)
✨ Many people recommend watching the sunset at the first dessert shop after entering the village, as the view is indeed good, but there are too many people queuing. It is strongly recommended to go to the shop next door, which is almost empty and the view is nearly the same. The owner is very laid-back and won't say anything even if you don't buy anything, although there's not much to buy in his shop, haha.
2⃣️ Cloud sea sunrise at Tang'an terraced fields
Ask the hotel owner to arrange a chartered car, 30 yuan per person.
My travel luck always seems to be about queuing, and this time there was neither a cloud sea nor a sunrise, just a bit of fog.
3⃣️ Zhaoxing Dong Village
✨ The scenery at the entrance is the most beautiful, I think. The next day I spent a long time in the pavilion enjoying the beautiful view, feeling the breeze, and waiting for the minibus to the high-speed train, so happy. Across the road from the entrance is the viewing platform, where you can overlook the entire Dong Village.
✨ Besides the main commercial street, you can enter from the left side of . It's very quiet here, with only riverside homestays and nice scenery. It's recommended to stay here for the quietness and the nice decoration of the homestays (this is my lesson). There's a batik museum at a turn.
4⃣️ Tie-dyeing
Picked a random shop, the price was not very expensive.
🍜Food
✅ Bayberry soup Loved it, wanted to drink it all the time.
Tried many places, only recommend two. The difference in taste is really big. One is the one that shares a stall with Yang Meimei BBQ (10 yuan a cup, their sour plum soup is also very good). The other is the one under the banner of 'Add a Pair of Chopsticks' (8 yuan).
✅ Liao Pangzi Fish King
Tried crispy pork rice noodles and beef rice noodles at both places, Liao Pangzi's portion is smaller but tastes better, Fish King has better value for money, both are good.
✅ Chen Beibei Yogurt
The yogurt is thick and has a different taste from regular yogurt.
✅ Pumpkin cakes
Very tasty, just a bit oily.
❌ Zui Di Yi Lou
The tofu is acceptable, but the glutinous rice ribs are hard to eat, and the bayberry soup is also bad.
⭕️ Indifferent: Green Headscarf Auntie's glutinous rice, Yang Meimei BBQ.

Huangguoshu Waterfall Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
🌈 Rainbows and Waterfalls 🌈
#chasingwaterfalls
Huangguoshu Waterfall is a real spectacle! If you hit it after recent rainfall its at its most beautiful but even without that it remains an incredible waterfall! Work your way around to experience the rainbow at the bottom 😍
Be warned, the queue is crazy! My advice would be to go there as early as possible and make your way straight to the majn waterfall. You can spend the rest of your time exploring the surrounding the area which is also very beautiful and has many smaller waterfalls and walks for you to enjoy.

Huangguoshu Waterfall 🏞 (3rd Largest)
Huangguoshu Waterfall or 'Yellow-Fruit Tree Waterfalls' is one of the largest waterfalls in China and East Asia located on the Baishui River in Anshun, Guizhou province.
It is featured ranked as the largest waterfall cluster in the world in the Guinness Book of World Records!
There is a Water-Curtain Cave named "Shuiliandong" (水帘洞), a 134 m (440 ft) long naturally formed cave located in the back of the waterfall. It is believed that this is the habitat of Sun Wukong aka the Monkey King 👑

Huangguoshu - the biggest waterfall in China
The waterfall is amazing! Especially when you are going through the tunnel under it.
But gosh, it was sososo crowded this July: in the line in the tunnel people almost didn't move... So I have mixed feelings from the trip...
Still glad we saw that beauty and power.
To get there we took a hello taxi from Guiyang
