Wuhan East Lake Cherry Blossom Garden

Wuhan East Lake Mo Hill Cherry Garden is located on the southern foot of the National 5A scenic area East Lake Mo Hill Scenic Area, near the East Lake Plum Garden. It covers an area of 260 acres and has 10,000 cherry trees. The first batch of cherry blossoms planted in the garden was given to Deng Yingchao by former Japanese Prime Minister Tanaka Kakuei, and then re-gifted to Wuhan East Lake by Deng Yingchao. The vast majority of the cherry blossoms were jointly invested and planted by China and Japan in 1998. Wuhan East Lake Mo Hill Cherry Garden, together with Hirosaki Cherry Blossom Garden in Aomori Prefecture, Japan, and the Cherry Blossom Garden in Washington State, USA, are known as the three major cherry blossom capitals of the world.
