Jiangxi has gotten colder, and I'm missing Lushan's snow again. As a southerner, I've always had a strong longing for snow since childhood.

Jiangxi has gotten colder, and I'm missing Lushan's snow again☃️. Although I'm in Jiangxi, I only finally visited Lushan during a snowfall last year, and it was truly beautiful! Like a fairy tale world! Jiangxi's snow season is coming again, and for southerners, Lushan is still the most recommended place to see snow! I did a lot of research before going. 🎄The period around Christmas is Lushan's first snow season, and the snow accumulation is thickest in mid-January. To avoid the New Year's Day peak (snow + holiday, hotels are super expensive!), I chose to go up the mountain after New Year's Day, and sure enough, I encountered a snow-covered Lushan! ❄️I'm writing this to share my experience, hoping it helps everyone! 1️⃣You cannot drive up the mountain on snowy days! You can only park at the foot of the mountain and take a sightseeing bus or cable car (the cable car will be inspected at the end of the year, remember to check!). I chose the sightseeing bus, which cost 90r for round-trip and scenic area transfers, with unlimited rides for seven days. I think it's very cost-effective. On the mountain, I didn't strictly follow the guide; I got off whenever I saw a beautiful view. Oh, a reminder⚠️the winding mountain road can be a bit dizzying. If you get carsick easily, I recommend taking the cable car for a more comfortable trip, otherwise, it can be quite miserable... 2️⃣My snow-viewing route: After the bus arrived at the Yun Guan Suo station, I went to the hotel. Most hotels on the mountain include one pick-up and drop-off service. It seems there are fewer B&Bs, so it's good to ask clearly. After checking in and dropping off my belongings, I set off. I stayed near Xiaotianchi, and walked along Beishan Road from Xiaotianchi towards Jiexin Park. This section of the road was simply a snow-covered corridor, with rime covering all the branches. 3️⃣Sunset spot—There's a big tree near Jiexin Park. Check the sunset time for the day, and you can even catch the blue hour! Paired with the red and green roofs of Guling Town, what's the difference from Northern Europe! 4️⃣When doing my research, I saw many food recommendations and tried Lushan's local specialties: stone fish, stone chicken, and stone ear. The stone ear has a very unique texture, worth trying! For breakfast, I had a bowl of fermented rice soup with eggs at Ping'an Snacks, which also had small tangyuan (glutinous rice balls). After drinking it, I felt warm all over~ 5️⃣The Lushan Ski Resort was open when I went, so I got to ski in the south, even though I fell quite a bit... but it was a lot of fun! Isn't going on vacation about becoming a child again! 6️⃣Key points! 1. If you want to see pristine, untrodden snowscapes, you must get up early! After 8 AM, the main attractions are already crowded! 2. Crampons! Crampons! Many places on the mountain are quite slippery. I saw many people without crampons slip and fall! Spend a little money to save your life! 3. Lushan is mainly windy, so a windproof jacket is a must. You can also stick on some hand warmers. Warning of magic attack❗️ 4. I recommend hotels > B&Bs. Hotel facilities are generally better, and water pipes on the mountain can easily freeze in winter. Book in advance! Rooms will run out. Accommodation is very important when traveling! I was lucky; I found a friend before I went and got a discounted room😎 This trip didn't actually require complicated planning. Choose the right time, dress warmly, bring a good mood, and just stroll along. Snowy Lushan is very photogenic.
