Between Yunshuiyao and Chuxi Tulou, I choose…

Adults don't make choices, I want both, haha! This is a weekend trip to Fujian Tulou (Hakka earthen buildings). Friday, we rented a car in Xiamen and drove to Zhangzhou, which took a little over an hour. In Zhangzhou, we explored the ancient city and tried some local snacks. Saturday, before setting off, we went to "Sun's Mochi Youth Road Main Store" near the ancient city to get some mochi to eat on the way. We bought traditional mochi for 2 yuan each; the traditional ones are the classics—crispy inside and coated with different kinds of powder—one bite was amazing! Then we headed to Yunshuiyao, an hour's drive away, with tickets costing 90 yuan per person. The Tulou (earthen buildings) here are quite far apart, and the scenic area is large. There's a 10 yuan fee per person to go up to the top of a Tulou. Yunshuiyao is a small village with water and large banyan trees, very much in the style of a Jiangnan water town. We stayed at Huazhu B&B in Yunshuiyao that night, and had a hot pot of earthworm and chicken for dinner—so delicious!! Super flavorful!! On Sunday, we departed from Yunshuiyao to Yongding Chuxi Tulou, a one-hour drive. Tickets were 65 yuan per person. Chuxi Tulou is more authentic and unspoiled; there were no tour groups, only individual tourists. When we visited, there were very few visitors. After arriving at the parking lot, we chose to walk up, which wasn't too far, and the walk was manageable. We first went to the viewing platform, which was great for taking photos. The largest round tulou can be entered with a ticket, and you can go upstairs for free. They were still drying autumn leaves there! It was a great place for photos! So we decided to take a set of photos similar to those in "Big Fish & Begonia" (●v●)📸 and they turned out great! Around 4 PM, we started our return journey to Xiamen. Overall, this Fujian Tulou trip was relaxing. We slept in every day before setting off. Taking photos and relaxing in the small village was very pleasant, and it was another enjoyable weekend.
