The new theme of Gibson House Museum - Counting Sheep!

The history of Gibson House Museum can be traced back to 1850. Stepping into it, the old-fashioned kitchen, old piano, and old carpet are still there. On Halloween 2023, a new activity was introduced here: finding sheep. Search all over the kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms, there are many corners where sheep are hidden, and each sheep has its own story. ❇️Why find sheep? There are some data on the big table in the kitchen: Once, the farm around the house raised 25 sheep and produced 70 pounds of wool. 1 pound = 0.454 kilograms. ❇️What is the use of wool? ❕Spinning and weaving. There are spinning wheels and looms in the room for you to try. There are staff to guide you for free. ❕Weaving carpets. In the past, the carpets in the old house museum were woven in this house with the wool produced by their own farm. The carpets that you step on in the old house today still retain the popular patterns of that year. ❇️Other old items in the old house: Old-fashioned toys. Original wood color, a large pile, for you to use. It tests your hand-eye coordination ability. ❇️Play cost: Gibson House Museum is one of the several historical museums under the jurisdiction of the Toronto City Government. Free.
