On the second day of the trip, we arrived at Xingping Ancient Town around 1 pm. The time was not too late, and the weather changed from overcast to partly cloudy, with the sun occasionally peeking out. The weather in Guilin is indeed fickle. The rain these past two days was not heavy, so the Li River water was green, with clear waters and green mountains, lush bamboo forests, everything complementing each other beautifully. We rented electric scooters to enjoy the scenery along the Li River, then crossed the river to climb Husband Mountain on the opposite bank, overlooking the first bend of the Li River. The weather really did us a favor, and soon, a ray of sunlight shone between the mountains and on the river, as if giving this place a spotlight. Morning Misty Li River That night, a thunderstorm broke out, but fortunately, we had already seen the sparkling Li River during the day, because once there is a heavy rain, the water of the Li River will turn yellow. Listening to the thunder and pouring rain at night, I felt an unexpected sense of security. The thunderstorm that night seemed like the heavens were sentimental that we hadn't seen the misty Li River. On the third morning, we got up early and walked out of the homestay to another visual feast. There were already tourists coming and going on the road, and the locals had started doing business early—renting electric scooters, making fruit juices. We went down to the Li River from a free dock and strolled along the riverbank. On the morning of the third day, we had a Hanfu photo shoot. Tips The ferry car to Husband Mountain is very fast, we called the driver "Autumn Mountain Racing God", hold on tight during the ride; There are many snakes, rodents, and insects in Guilin, we encountered a cobra on the road, so be careful and ensure your safety. The locals say if you don't provoke it, it won't attack you; To visit Husband Mountain, you can choose a foggy morning to see the misty scenery, or the afternoon, because the morning is backlit, and the afternoon light is better; The Hanfu studio we went to is called Lanting Xu, and their service attitude is particularly bad, judging by the accent, they are from the Northeast. The rainy season is suitable for viewing the misty Li River, but if the rain is heavy, the water will turn yellow.
