[Akita Snow Festival you should visit at least once❄️] Come to the Yokote Kamakura Festival on February 15th and 16th!

This time, we will introduce the Yokote Kamakura Festival, which is held every year on February 15th and 16th. First of all, as the name suggests, the Kamakura Festival is an event where many kamakura (snow igloos) are made out of snow. At the Kamakura Festival, kamakura of all sizes are made all over Yokote city. You can enter a kamakura and interact with local children, or enjoy the view of the lit-up kamakura. The Kamakura Festival is a Little New Year's event to worship the water god, and is a traditional festival with a history of over 400 years. The festival venues are roughly divided into five locations in Yokote city. ⭕️Main venue① Yokote City Hall② Yokote Park ⭕️Enjoy mini kamakura③ Yokote Minami Elementary School④ Hebi no Saki Kawahara ⭕️Enjoy taking photos with old thatched houses⑤ Kido Gorobei Village Children can enter the large kamakura at the main venue, and they will treat you to sweet sake and rice cakes while saying "Haiittanse" and "Ogandantanse" 🍶 Mini kamakura are made all over the city, but the one I would most recommend at the festival is the mini kamakura at "Hebi no Saki Kawahara" shown in the first photo. The sight of about 3,500 small kamakura lined up and lit up is a spectacular sight...! If you take a photo with a telephoto lens from the bridge, you can take a photo like the first photo! 📷 I used public transportation to get to the "Kamakura Festival"! 🚃 First, it takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes by train from Akita Station to Yokote Station. Then, it was a 10-minute walk from Yokote Station to Yokote City Hall, the main venue. From Yokote City Hall, we took the Kamakura Shuttle Bus to visit each of the famous spots. ▼Kamakura Shuttle Bus [Operating Area] Yokote City Hall → Yokote Minami Elementary School → Yokote Park → Futabacho → Yokote City Hall [Operating Hours] 9:00-21:00 As I experienced, the bus was crowded and sometimes you couldn't get on... There were many places where it was about a 10-minute walk between each section, so please consider how crowded the bus is and try to get around well!!
