Yuncheng | Guo Village Mount Tai Temple Main Hall

Once again encountering the Iron General guarding the door, I followed the wall to make a call, and in less than five minutes, a small electric scooter came from afar, arriving at the gate of Mount Tai Temple along the deserted country lane. Main Hall Introduction The main hall of Guo Village Mount Tai Temple is located in Guo Village, Shangwang Township, Yancheng District, Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province, and is a national key cultural relic protection unit. The main hall was built during the Yuan Dynasty, and the overall architecture adopts the traditional Chinese courtyard layout, surrounded by towering earth walls. The ridge beams record renovations and reconstructions in the seventh year of Yuan Zhi Zheng, the fourteenth year of Ming Chenghua, the twenty-seventh year of Ming Jiajing, the twenty-third year of Ming Wanli, and the fifth year of Qing Daoguang. The main hall faces south with a width of five bays and a depth of six rafters, featuring a single-eave hip roof. The central door is flanked by coiled dragon stone pillars replaced during the Ming Dynasty repairs. The 5-bay main hall is divided into three groups, with the central 3 bays dedicated to the Eastern Mountain Great Emperor, and the two side bays each have their own doors, separated from the central bays by mud walls, dedicated to Guan Gong and the Child Sending Goddess, with a unique design. The aunt leans against the door frame, basking in the sunlight, recounting the history of this temple.
