Yangpu Riverside City Walk | A beautiful industrial style for a relaxed experience
Yangpu Riverside has transformed from an industrial relic to a living oasis🍀. With a broad view and pleasant river breeze, it is particularly suitable for walking🚶♀️ and cycling🚲. Beneath your feet, the river water rolls forward🚢, carrying the magnificent scenery of the Yangpu Bridge and the ferry, where the coolness of industry intertwines with the warmth of the surrounding greenery, creating the unique 'original texture' of Yangpu Riverside‼️
👉The rose wall at the Oriental Fisherman's Wharf complements the riverside scenery, but the flowers have almost withered🌸
⛪️The City Construction Planning Exhibition Hall🎪 has a unique design and a carefully arranged setting that showcases the entire process of transformation from 'old appearance' to 'new look'✨. Stepping into the exhibition hall is like traveling through time, experiencing the changes and development of Shanghai💫
🚴♀️For those who like cycling, Yangpu Riverside is indeed a good choice👍. Cycling along the riverside in the evening🌇, the sunset glow on your body and the river breeze on your face are refreshing.

The beauty of the architectural framing of 'Green Hills'
On the north bank of the Pujiang River, on the west side of the Yangpu Bridge, there is such a peculiar building with an alternative shape and smooth lines. It is the Yangpu Riverside Landscape---Green Hills.
The predecessor of Green Hills was a riverside warehouse of the Shanghai Tobacco Company, originally included in the demolition plan. However, in the context of revitalizing industrial buildings and reducing development, combined with the innovative transformation of the Pujiang Riverside Avenue in recent years, after inspections by urban planning and municipal construction departments, it was decided, after much deliberation, to preserve and innovate the warehouse. It has become an urban riverside complex that integrates municipal infrastructure, public green space, and public services, and a riverside landscape for citizens to relax and sightsee.
Originally, Green Hills was a rectangular six-story industrial warehouse. After the meticulous design by the Tongji Original Design Studio, a rigid industrial building was transformed into a magnificent work of art, which is truly admirable for the designers' ingenuity. Green Hills stretches north to south along the Huangpu River bank, and from an aerial view, it looks like a green giant wheel that is about to be launched and sail far away.
To reduce the oppressive feeling that the warehouse gave to the riverside skyline, the designers gradually reduced the building from the middle. This has resulted in what we see today: the first floor as office space, the second floor as exhibition space, the third floor as corridor space, the fifth floor as a steel-structured circular gallery, and the atrium designed with a soaring double helix staircase, with the beauty of its lines leaping to the eye.
Interestingly, because Green Hills was formerly the Shanghai Tobacco Company, the design did not forget to leave a place for the old employer: on the north side of Green Hills, under the green slope, a broken cigarette is specially designed, constantly reminding people, for the sake of health, please do not smoke!

Shanghai, the Magic City, is truly an earthly paradise!
The weather has been so nice lately, with few people around, good weather, and flowers blooming, I really love the feeling of early summer. You can roll around on the grass, and experience the unique beauty of the Magic City through citywork!
There are also many little romantic things to do without spending money... for example,
you can citywalk under the plane trees in the Hengfu Historical Area, visit a European-style castle to feel the beauty of being abroad, waste time in Shanghai's most beautiful parks, have afternoon tea on the rooftop of the Shama Building,
or enjoy the romantic sunset in the Magic City's version of Lalaland...
Hurry up and arrange a different spring trip to the Magic City for yourself!

Think Xuhui Riverside is crowded? Then you can take a walk along Yangpu Riverside
📍Yangpu Riverside stretches from Qinhuangdao Wharf to Dinghai Bridge.
🚇【Transportation】
✅Along the way, there are subway stations such as Line 4 Yangshupu Road Station, Line 18 Danyang Road Station, and Line 12 Aiguo Road Station.
✅It is recommended to get off at Danyang Road Station on Line 18, which is close to the riverside and is the Oriental Fisherman's Wharf. You can start from here and head north to kick off a vigorous walk along Yangpu Riverside.
✅You can also walk south to Hongkou Riverside.
🗺️【Route】
➡️Danyang Road Station is very photogenic with its black and white theme. After getting off the subway, you can start with a photo spree.

➡️Yangpu Bridge
After crossing the Yangpu Bridge, you can come out and ride a bike, as there's not much to see along the river. If you want to rack up your step count, please continue your vigorous walk.
Ride to Longchang Road and then turn to the riverside

➡️Shanghai International Fashion Center, formerly the Seventeenth Cotton Mill, now an urban outlet, where friends can shop for bargains.
✔️If you still have energy, you can turn right over Dinghai Road Bridge and set foot on Fuxing Island to continue exploring.
☕【Food & Drink】
🙃Very few....
📍Starting point: Oriental Fisherman's Wharf is a shopping mall with food and drink
📍Ending point: Shanghai International Fashion Center is an urban outlet with food and drink
In between...
☕Coffee shop: There is one at Green Hill, and there used to be a once-popular 'White Seven Coffee', which is now deserted.
🚶♀️Because it's less crowded, Yangpu Riverside is particularly suitable for walking, running, but cycling is average, due to many ups and downs, unlike the smooth Pudong Riverside.

The new landmark of Yangpu Binjiang in Shanghai, the Grey Warehouse Art Space, is now open to the public
🧚♀️I went to Yangpu Binjiang for a weekend trip and found the Grey Warehouse Art Space in the Yangshupu Power Plant Ruins Park nearby. It's now open to the public! It looks like it will become the next popular check-in spot in Yangpu Binjiang!
.
🏠Yangshupu Power Plant Ruins Park, once a high-carbon emission thermal power plant built in 1910, was once known as the first power plant in the Far East. The tall chimney standing by the river was once the tallest building in China, standing by the Huangpu River, and passengers from the ocean would know they had arrived in Shanghai as soon as they saw it.
.
♨️Now, after a series of unique artistic designs and building renovations, this idle factory area has undergone earth-shaking changes and has been transformed into a landmark building on the waterfront for ecological sharing and art appreciation.
.
🎨The most worthy of appreciation is the newly opened Grey Warehouse Art Space. The three giant tanks that were once used to store fly ash have been deconstructed and functionally overlaid to become the best place to enjoy the unbeatable river view.
.
🌀The entire art space looks super spectacular from a distance, with a beautiful spiral staircase on the industrial ruins. The spiral staircase spirals to form a sunken circular mini space, which is very design-oriented.
.
🧡There are also exhibitions here recently, which are the exhibition areas of the Yangpu Binjiang City Space Art Season, with the theme of 'Co-cultivation and Co-existence'. There are many digital arts, installation arts, etc. Walking in the space, you can really find surprises at every turn!
.
☕️Of course, hidden in the ruins park, there is another eye-catching building, which is full of industrial style and artistic sense from the outside. It was transformed from the ruins of a water purification pool.
.
♻️Now it has become a zero-carbon theme coffee shop called One Foot Garden. It is said that the power supply of this shop only relies on photovoltaic power generation, which makes it the most environmentally friendly 'unplugged' coffee shop on the waterfront.
.
💯'Ruins Park' & 'Grey Warehouse Art Space', rejuvenated on the waterfront, highly recommended for weekend walks, cycling, strolling with children, and visiting this city public space new landmark with both natural, humanistic and artistic temperament!
.
‼️Tips:
Parking needs to be at the 'Shanghai International Fashion Center', navigate to the '135 Dinghai Road' parking lot

Yangpu Riverside, Huangpu River wind, the rose with incomplete beauty, 90
Counting the time, if I don't go to see the roses again, they are going to wither, and I can't even catch up with the tail.
So, despite the gloomy weather today, as if a heavy rain is about to come, I still went out to see the roses.
The Huangpu Riverside is too far, and the Riverside Forest Park is even further. The one with high popularity and close distance is Yangpu Riverside. It takes 20 minutes by subway.
Get off at "Danyang Road Station" of Subway Line 18, both Exit 2 and Exit 3 are Jiangpu Road, but they are just the left and right sides of Jiangpu Road. In the south direction, passing Yangshupu Road, you can see the "Oriental Fisherman's Wharf", which is considered as Yangpu Riverside.
Turn left, and you will see the popular "Green Hill". Turn right, and you will see another more popular "Rose Wall".
The "Green Hill" has a unique shape, and the side is full of roses or roses or roses, I can't tell, it's very beautiful, attracting many tourists to take pictures. I also found that there is a sea of flowers hidden in the nearby woods, which is not easy to be found. The under-construction high-rise buildings and Yangpu Bridge are used as the background, and the photos taken are very beautiful.
The most popular part of this "Yangpu Riverside" is naturally the rose wall by the river, which is a popular figure in the media. On the web page, I have seen many photos and videos taken by others. Today, I also took enough photos myself.
Unfortunately, the roses have passed the blooming period, and more than half of them have withered and wilted, revealing the incomplete beauty.

In Shanghai! A predicted popular industrial architecture art exhibition!
📍Grey Warehouse Art Space - 2800 Yangshupu Road
🚗If you drive, you can park at the 'Shanghai International Fashion Center', and walk about 100m from Gate 6 to see it.

⚡️The Grey Warehouse Art Space was originally transformed from the Yangpu Power Plant. The three circular buildings now are dry ash coal ash tanks, hence the name!
▪️The collision of industrial relics transformed into art spaces gives a sense of cyberpunk future, and great photos can be taken casually!
🔹There is currently an art exhibition themed 'Co-growth and Co-existence', which includes a lot of digital art, installation art, etc., telling the development history of Yangpu Riverside, energy-saving electricity and other technological concepts!
‼️Recommended nearby attractions

It could be the next internet sensation by the river
Another art center transformed from industrial relics has opened! The Grey Warehouse Art Center, originally a coal ash storage tank. You can stand on top of the tank and overlook the Huangpu River
The Grey Warehouse is located in the Power Plant Relic Park on the Yangpu Riverside. Yangshupu Power Plant was once the largest thermal power plant in the Far East and one of the earliest power plants in the world, with a history of more than a hundred years. The Power Plant Relic Park retains the remnants and foundations of the original coal processing workshop buildings, as well as a large number of industrial relics and production process lines outside the flood wall, leaving indelible historical traces.
Among the power plant's operating facilities is a set of water storage and purification devices. One has been transformed into a purified water cafe, which retains the texture and industrial relics of the entire site to the greatest extent. The cafe is built on the original foundation pit with a split arch, and the point-like thin columns fall on the outer ring formed in a concentric circle, which is very special in shape. Sitting in the recessed purified water pool cafe, you can glimpse the rainwater garden made by the purified water pool next to it through the columns, and you can look up to see the towering chimney.
On the dock at the east end, the original dry ash coal ash tank has been transformed into the Grey Warehouse Art Space. The use pattern of the entire space is imagined as a set of completely public roaming paths, from the concrete frame at the bottom all the way to the top of the Grey Warehouse, which is level with the Yangpu Bridge.
The '2023 Shanghai Urban Space Art Season' is currently being held, with the theme of 'Co-cultivation and Co-existence', featuring three exhibition areas: Low Carbon Future, Low Carbon Technology, and Green Vein Co-existence.
Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, free admission

Yangpu Riverside Scenic LineOccasional Pink
Yangpu Riverside Scenic Line is the newly-renewed net red punching place. Here, you can look at Pudongs three-piece set across the river. This is the full length of the Yangpu Riverside scenery. 416 meters, with industrial boat, gauze gallery, Luchishan Trail, fishing port reproduction and other landscapes, retaining the old industrial elements as much as possible, to create a waterfront landscape area and public activity space with Yangpu's own advantages and characteristics. .
In the flower beds of the riverside scenery (to the direction of the Yangpu Bridge), there are some pink grasses that are planted, which is very suitable for taking pictures with the camera this season.
, a pink cloud-like tidbit, is a very prosperous plant in the last two years. There are not many pink and white grasses in the urban area. Although we have not encountered a large pink sea, even if it is a small cluster, we have to make it into a large piece of confidence.
wear guide:
is pink, not very deep when it is open, if it is a small cluster, the color will not be very deep. It is recommended to take a picture in a light pastel top, preferably white or similar pink.
Photo Guide:
Powdered grass has a little fog, it is recommended to shoot it as a foreground without destroying the plant.
Because the pink grass here is planted in the flower bed, you can take a good photo by leaning on the edge of the flower bed, and will not step on the flowers and plants.

When it comes to the color of autumn, the first reaction of people is the golden autumn, but the most popular in Shanghai today is the pink autumn. A new kind of net red grass, pink grass, and a Shanghai autumn.
In the past, in Shanghai, to see this kind of net red grass, you need to go to the suburbs of Shanghai, such as Jinshan and Songjiang. However, this year's Yangpu Riverside, one of the new banks on the Pujiang River in Shanghai, citizens can also enjoy this new net red grass at close range. The
Yangpu Riverside coastline is about 15.5 kilometers long and is the longest in Shanghai's downtown area. The old industrial heritage left over from history is perfectly integrated with modern architecture and greenery, forming a beautiful landscape on the banks of the Pujiang River.
The fall of this year's pink stalks has added a lot of autumn colors. The flowering period of the scorpion grass is from mid-September to mid-November, and the golden autumn season begins to bloom. The flowers are cloud-like, making people seem to enter a pink sea.
Autumn sunset, the sun is soft, the setting sun sets, the whole riverside is full of vitality
