In this park there are also colonial period houses that house the house of the Secretary to the Resident. In addition, this park also houses the Taiping Zoo and is close to Bukit Larut.
History of Taiping Lake Park
This land was originally owned by Chung Thye Phin - a Chinese immigrant who was also the last Chinese captain in Malaya. After his death, the son of the richest man in Penang donated this land to be used as a public park.
The landscape of this park was designed by a British citizen, Charles Compton. As a result of his idea, the uniqueness of this park is often written about by many British citizens who visit Malaya. In short, many praise this park because this kind of atmosphere cannot be enjoyed in England.#my village##from Taiping with love#
