Trip Moments Recommendations
Hong Kong Hotspots | West Kowloon Cultural District | Embracing the Moment of Bubbles Day and Night.
On the second afternoon of the Easter holiday, we went to the West Kowloon Cultural District.
The giant art installation 'Embracing the Moment of Bubbles' on the eastern side of the West Kowloon Cultural District's waterfront lawn is one of the recent hotspots for photo opportunities.
'Embracing the Moment of Bubbles' is one of the activities of the West Kowloon FUN Art Festival.
The giant 'bubbles' reach up to 9 meters high and are on display at the West Kowloon waterfront from now until April 7th.
'Embracing the Moment of Bubbles' was created by the Australian Sydney art team Atelier Sisu and has been exhibited in cities such as Sydney, London, Singapore, and Brussels before, with Hong Kong being the 44th city to host the exhibition.
The 'bubbles' are made of glass filter materials, which show blue and purple colors under the sunlight at different angles during the day.
In addition to the three giant 'bubbles', there are also more than fifty 'small bubbles'.
We also encountered the 'Duckling' promoting 'Art in Hong Kong'.
We went to West Kowloon again on the evening of Ching Ming Festival, and 'Embracing the Moment of Bubbles' offers different visual effects during the day and night, making it worth visiting more than once.
The illuminated giant 'bubbles' are too beautiful.
'Night Fun West Kowloon' was an unexpected gain.
Tasty Western Cuisine in Tsuen Wan.
Today, I made plans with a friend to dine in Tsuen Wan. My friend recommended a hidden gem cafe located on the 3rd floor of the Love & Peace Mall. To my surprise, the food was quite delicious🤤
The restaurant started us off with a complimentary bread roll. The roll was warm and soft, and it tasted amazing with butter😊
We first ordered an appetizer, fried onion rings with cheddar cheese sauce🤗. The onion rings were fried to a perfect crisp and were deliciously hot.
For the main course, we had the black truffle and mixed mushroom pizza. The pizza was covered with cheese and a variety of mushrooms, and the flavor of the black truffle was top-notch.
We also ordered the Japanese squid ink spaghetti with garlic🍝. Both main dishes were fantastic😊 and definitely worth trying.
Of course, we had to end with dessert. We chose a molten chocolate cake with ice cream to conclude our meal🤗
Great Places to Visit in Hong Kong | Hong Kong Bicycle Pavilion Park | Lantern Festival in the Year of Jia Chen.
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department is hosting the 'Lantern Festival in the Year of Jia Chen' from today until February 25th at the outdoor plaza of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Hong Kong Bicycle Pavilion Park, Tin Shui Wai Park, and Ginza Plaza. Among them, the lantern display at the Hong Kong Bicycle Pavilion Park is themed 'Children's Fun Fantasy Land', which lights up every night from 6 pm to 11 pm.
A pair of adorable dragon babies welcome everyone at the entrance of the Bicycle Pavilion Park.
'The Prosperous Delight' is the largest lantern set in the venue, with a dazzling carousel in the middle. Underneath the carousel, flowers bloom profusely, accompanied by koi and butterflies. The lanterns, along with their reflections in the water, are truly beautiful.
Another set of lanterns, 'Twin Stars in the Park', features 'Vitality Boy' and 'Siwen Meow'. There is a Ferris wheel in the park, and you can also release sky lanterns.
Walking to the 'Cats under the Moon' lantern set, one might expect to see the twelve zodiac cats, but upon counting, there are only ten.
Wishing everyone a happy Lantern Festival!

🇲🇴 Macau's Natural Hotel
The hotel is located in Coloane, right next to Hac Sa Beach 🏖️. It is built along the coast and although the room design is a bit dated, it still exudes an elegant and gentle atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the extra-large terrace offers the most beautiful mountain and sea views in Macau 🌅.
Breakfast is a buffet served right next to the outdoor lawn 🍽️. The menu includes a variety of Chinese and Western cuisine, cold and hot dishes, and freshly made food. The staff is also attentive and enthusiastic 🤗.

Grappas Cellar (CWB)
We were happy to discover that @grappascellar moved all the way from Central to the basement of @leegardenshk and is still as spacious as before 🥳
Upon being seated, the waitress served us a bread basket with olive oil and balsamic 🍞 It was a pity that we didn’t get to see their famed live performances as we visited on a weekday night 🎵
[𝗖𝗮𝗲𝘀𝗮𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗱]
We started off with a well-balanced caesar salad that was full of crisp pancetta bacon bits, crunchy croutons and huge parmesan cheese flakes. What made it so good was definitely the chilled fresh romaine lettuce paired with the light creamy homemade dressing 👏🏻
[𝗚𝗻𝗼𝗰𝗰𝗵𝗶]
With a chewy texture like rice cakes, the gnocchis were made of potato and pumpkin, yet we couldn’t really taste the pumpkin flavor due to the rich cheese sauce 🧀 The colorful bell peppers added a brightness to the dish in terms of both texture and flavor.
[𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗶𝘇𝘇𝗮]
The pizza was loaded with smoked salmon, which was unfortunately a little too salty for me, so I couldn’t fully enjoy the charred crust and base cheese of the pie. I guess my expectations were too high from the Peking Duck Pizza we had for lunch on our previous visits to Jardine House 😌
[𝗧𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘂]
To end our meal on a sweet note, we ordered their specialty dessert. The savoiardi biscuits were soaked in a boozy mixture of espresso and cognac, which went delightfully well with the velvety mascarpone cream and mixed berries on the side 🤤
[𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 𝗕𝗲𝗲𝗿 & 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗝𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗲]
We were lucky to catch the last of the happy hour discount till 7:30pm 🍻The menabrea beer is a mild Italian lager that was more on the sweet and malty side. The apple juice was also quite sweet and concentrated, yet would have been nice if there were some ice cubes 🧊

Victoria Peak - Hong Kong
Victoria peak is a must see attraction in Hong Kong. It is very famous around the world for fabulous panoramic views of Hong Kong.
There’s 3 ways to get to the peak:
* By the Peak Tram which you can catch at the Lower Terminus. Peak Tram works from 7am to 12 midnight and it takes only seven minutes to get to the top. The only problem with this way is that most of the times the queue for Peak Tram at the Lower Terminus is terribly long, sometimes it can take up to 2 hours! So I chose the other way to get there.
* I chose to go there by Bus #15 from Central Bus Terminus. It takes a route from Central business district all the way to the main viewing areas on The Peak. The views from the bus are incredible and I recommend to choose this way to go to the Peak because its incredible views. At the moment I been there, the fare was around HK$10. The bus ride takes around 40 minutes.
* Alternatively, you can take a taxi to Victoria Peak. A taxi from Central to Victoria Peak takes around 20 mins and it will cost around HK$100.
When you arrive to Victoria Peak you will find the Peak Tower, where you will find Madame Tussaud’s Museum, Upper Terminus of Peak Tram and Sky Terrace 428.
Sky Terrace 428 is the highest 360 degrees viewing terrace in town. You will need to buy a ticket to enter Sky Terrace 428.

UREC’s exhibition
Came across the Urban Renewal Exploration Centre(UREC 市區更新探知館) website and found out their exhibitions on dilapidated housing alongside the walls full of information about the urban renewal in Hong Kong including problems of urban decay and work of URA in reserve, redevelopment, rehabilitation and revitalisation.
The exhibit caught my attention with the presentation of real life experience of dilapidated housing with small cubicles home, the famous caged homes, the less humane cockloft, the toilet and kitchen areas to be shared; giving us a better understanding of the poor living conditions in older districts. I learnt that some exhibits are collected from the authentic premises in the old districts. Everything is surreal. After visiting, I do think it provide some insight and allow visitors to understand urban renewal issues from different perspectives.
Most of the children these days are blessed. They’ve never see a lot of things, not even the housing or livings of the poor or less fortunate. Exhibitions like this not only giving them ideas, providing them the opportunity to look closer and imagine the lifestyle; it allows them to understand the importance of reserves, redevelopment, rehabilitation and revitalisation of the urban.
It’s free of charge and all tours are by appointment only.
Age : Primary and above.

Mon – Fri (except public holidays) 10:00 am to 12:00 pm & 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Grind Size @Mong Kok
Mong Kok’s Ladies’ Market may have lost its former hustle and bustle without the pre-pandemic tourist crowd, but gained a new #instaworthy cafe!
We booked @grindsize on @openrice_hk (btw love the ‘new restaurants’ filter feature) 😍 Service was quite attentive and we really admired the aesthetic concrete interior design
Apparently the cafe is pet-friendly, but unfortunately we didn’t see any dogs that day despite staying for quite a long time (without getting kicked out) 🐶
[ʜᴏᴊɪᴄʜᴀ ʟᴀᴛᴛᴇ]
The hojicha latte had a pleasant aroma and was quite rich in flavor with a balanced earthy tone. Plus the latte art and cup were super pretty!
[ɢʀɪɴᴅ ꜱɪᴢᴇ ʙʀᴇᴀᴋꜰᴀꜱᴛ]
This all day breakfast was perfect for sharing, as there’s two pieces of hash browns, sausages and walnut bread each ✌🏻The scrambled egg and fried mushrooms were nicely seasoned while the salad dressing was not too sour. We completely skipped the baked beans on top of the hummus though… 👋🏻
[ᴍᴇɴᴛᴀɪᴋᴏ ᴛᴏʀᴛɪʟʟᴀ ᴅᴇ ᴘᴀᴛᴀᴛᴀꜱ]
This dish is not often seen on cafe menus, so we decided to give it a try. The portion looked smaller than expected but the potatoes inside made it quite filling 🥔 The mentaiko sauce added a distinct umami flavor to the omelette 🍳

貝澳 Pui O Beach
Pui O Beach
Recently heard people describing Pui O beach as “beautiful beach with long stretch of soft golden sands”… well, don’t know from where you got that, but here’s the thing, I’ve been to Pui O prior kids, that’s 6-7 years ago, and there ain’t golden sands; then, I went again late June.. golden sands still nowhere to be seen 🤪
Anyway, the slightly dark sands are soft, and it’s considered smoother than most of the beaches in HK. The waves were pretty strong, we saw people surfing and kitesurfing. But Pui O beach is actually popular for the clam digging activities. You would see adults standing in the water twisting (foot digging clam) or kids digging by the beach while building sand castles. It’s low tide when we visit, so adults and kids got to go a little further.
We had fun picking shells, digging clam, tried jumping over each waves coming to us, buying snacks and drinks from the kiosk. Then, when we are done, kids farewell to the clams before returning them to the ocean.
Restaurant, bar and kiosk right at the beachfronts; local shops selling refreshments and beach equipments along the path from bus stops to beach.
Facilities: Toilets and showers available. Lifeguard stands.
How to get there:
- Blue taxi approx $100-120
- MTR Tung Chung Station Exit B and hop on to bus 3M at the bus terminus, get off at Lo Uk Tsuen or asked about Pui O beach
- 30 mins Ferry from Central Pier 6 to Mui Wo, bus 1, 2, 3M or 4 and get off at Lo Uk Tsuen

Mad Burger (Wan Chai)
Discovered @madburger_2020 near my office a while back and it’s still one of my top burger places in Wan Chai 👏🏻
It’s nice to see how the small shop has evolved with the menu expanding from 3 burgers to a total of 7 now (prices have also slightly gone up too though 💸)
The signature burger is my go-to order, as it has all the essential ingredients but better 🍔
The juicy patty is made with 3 different cuts (chuck tender, short plate and short rib) from US Angus and local beef, ensuring a depth of flavor and textural nuances 🐂
The maple syrup caramelized onion, melted cheddar cheese, huge pieces of lettuce, fresh tomato slice, fluffy toasted Brioche buns, and pickles that are thoughtfully taken out - it’s really the details that make this classic burger worth the price tag 💰
They are also very considerate to provide disposable gloves so you don’t need to get your hands dirty 🙌🏻

Hvar, also known as Lavender Island
Hvar is famous for lavender. Many hawkers on the island sell lavender products, such as sachets and essential oils.
Some essential oil bottles have hand painted on them
Generally, tourists will stay here for one night and join the blue cave tour there.
However, the weather was not really good when we arrived Hvar so we didn’t join the tour.
I heard that blue caves are sometimes closed because the water level is too high.
If you plan to visit the blue cave, you are suggested to ask the boat agent earlier.
Also, you can rent a speedboat to visit nearby islands from Hvar.
You can see many of these bakeries (PEKARA) in Croatia,
open 24 hours and the price is reasonable, you can buy their bread for breakfast. It is tasty.
Because Hvar has very famous stone terraces
The whole city fluctuates with the terrain of the hillside, so the whole picture has many layers.
It is recommended that you go to the hillside to see the whole city from top to bottom
The blue sky, the green space, the red ancient city ...
In the evening, the different flavors of Stephana Church
Rather than spending a lot of time on the street, I prefer to run down the alley
I am sure that it will surprise you!

The Beauty of Victoria Harbour
When I first moved to Shenzhen, I thought about what it will be like to visit Hong Kong, considering how convenient it is to travel there. After my Hong Kong Disney trip, I returned to the actual city to stop by Wan Chai to get this gorgeous view of Victoria Harbour.
Although it was a holiday, I didn't see that many people, which was a relief. It gave me the opportunity to enjoy the view of the harbour and listen to the gentle waves. It was a nice place to stop and unwind for a moment.
I didn't have time to board a ferry, but I will definitely consider it in a future visit. For now, I am grateful for the memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life.#hongkong #hktravel #travel #wanchai #victoriaharbour

wishing for some warmer weather and this view. Hong Kong is a breathtaking beauty with so much to offer, including a wide range of transportation options.
