#seattle #washingtonstate #starbucks #roasterycafe #coffee #original #mustvisit
Starbucks originally came from America and it's first outlets popped up in Washington state, Seattle. Once a small quiet city which now grew into a big bustling city where tourists will flock during the summer and spring seasons for cruise towards Alaska.
Not too far away in main downtown Seattle is the Starbucks reserve roastery where it 1st originated from. Located 1124 Pike St, Seattle, WA - Capital Hill, this reserve is huge!! When you enter, you be created by big metal canister where i believe the coffee roasting and churning are. But do drop by, because you will not get this elsewhere!
Bellevue Botanical Garden
We visited this lush botanical garden in the Bellevue area outside Seattle, equipped with some nice walking trails and a cute cafe - perfect for grabbing a coffee and pastry for a relaxing outdoor stroll. The Bellevue Botanical Garden has several acres of display gardens, wetlands and trails. Most of it was generously donated by previous homesteaders who lived here, and admission is free to the public. They also have an adorable gift shop, plants for sale, and a schedule of activities and seminars. I look forward to going back for some of those events!

Washington Park Arboretum
The Washington Park Arboretum covers 230 acres and offers various trails to hike. It’s free to the public and contains a vast variety of plant life, and I enjoyed seeing pops of color from flowering shrubs and trees during my stroll. It’s a huge space, so don’t expect to cover all the gardens and areas in one day. There are lots of plants for sale as well, and different options for purchasing them. I saw couples and families also taking walks or biking in the park, but it was not packed with crowds - it’s a very pleasant and quiet space.

Numerous restaurants and cafes are also nearby. A short walk away is Heritage Park that includes a walking trail, benches for reading, and a tennis court. Not far from the waterfront is also the Kirkland Corridor hiking/biking trail that runs along part of the railroad tracks.

A Snowy Wonderland At Twin Falls
Seattle is full of hiking trials located almost at every corner. During winter, some of the trails might be close due to the heavy snow or hard slippery ice which might be dangerous for hikers. But for one who loves the cold weather and love to do some hiking, this is a place you have to go and I do recommend twin falls!
Twin falls is located at SE 159th St, North Bend where you can start at the twin falls trail head. This is a well maintained track and one of the many popular hikes during winter due to its moderately challenging route which only takes about 90mins to complete. But do be careful as this trial runs parallel with the river, the route might get slippery due to frozen ice and you might fall and slip(which happened to me). But nevertheless this is one of the many fun hikes in winter that you should explore!

Seattle Space Needle
The most Iconic landmark, also a symbolic structure in seattle, 605-ft.-tall spire at the Seattle Center, with an observation deck & a rotating restaurant.
Do make sure you plan your activities at the space needle as there are several things to do. From photo-taking, skyhigh selfie, lounge or even walk the skyrisers. Entrance fee to the space needle cost from 25USD to 38USD depending on the day and time you go. As this is a popular attraction, there might be a long queue at times, especially closer to sunset. Part of the space needle floor is made up of tilting glass benches leaning out to the city and also a glass floor for you daring people to step on it and look all the way down to the bottom.
As the space needle was built in 1961, there is a long history of the tower, where it was once a radio tower, it also withstand an earthquake of 9.2 magnitude, it was also once a restaurant. The space needle has stopped rotating since the earthquake, i believe a safety concern.
BUt there is much to see and do up the space needle. Spend sometime up there, get a coffee, have some food and absorb the view from the above. You can see the entire 360 of Seattle up from the tower. Oh and also, do get a jacket as it could get really chilly and windy up there as well.

Famous Snoqualmie Falls
Snoqualmie Falls is a 268-foot waterfall in the northwest United States, located east of Seattle on the Snoqualmie River between Snoqualmie and Fall City, WA. It is one of Washington's most popular scenic attractions and is known internationally for its appearance in the cult television series Twin Peaks. This is one of the most popular scenic attractions that can receive 1.5m visitors especially in summer and spring. But winter, it feels that you are almost alone at times.
The falls has 2 lookout point, 1 right at the top and the bottom closer to the falls. As this was taken during winter, the lower lookout to the falls is currently closed due to it's really icy and slippery path. This is also a very popular hiking trail with a 2.5km hike return. It is a generally easy route for many and it takes approx 45mins - 60mins to complete, it is so popular especially during summer that you will often see hikers. Coming to Snoqualmie Falls in winter feels like a winter wonderland, the view is astonishing.
Do also take note that although the entrance fee is free there is a parking charges of $5.

Alki Beach overlooking Seattle Skyline
Alki Beach is a popular place for couples or visitors to catch the entire downtown seattle. Be it in daylight or sunset or even the night lights.
Beautiful long stretch beaches with parks and running treks for people who wants to end their evening with a nice run or stroll.
Alki Beach stretches for approx 4km which definitely will get you an awesome skyline view of seattle.
Location(getting there):
West seattle juts out into Elliot Bay directly West of downtown Seattle. This can be easily reached by car via the West Seattle Bridge. From Downtown Seattle, follow the signs and find your way to I5 South and take the exit for West Seattle. Once across the bridge, turn right onto Harbor Ave SQ and this will lead you around the tip of Duwamish Head and onto Alki Point.
There are also alot of cafe's by Alki beach which is just across the road overlooking the view of Seattle Skyline. And there is also a replica of the statue of liberty which reminds people that it was once called New York - Alki.
Most people like myself, get takeouts and seat by the carpark and just absorb the views, letting the sunset slowly set and the Space Needle and skyline slowly lights up. It is breathtaking.
