Sword Valley... Off-road bicycle trip.
Rent a bicycle in Goreme and embark on an off-road hiking adventure.
The name 'Swords Valley' is derived from the fairy chimneys that resemble long swords.
The valley, which attracts a lot of interest from tourists, has trekking courses and safaris. There are fairy chimneys of various shapes throughout the valley.
In areas where caves are densely packed, you can see old beehives and pigeon nests.
There are also off-road tours using ATVs nearby, and places where you can ride horses.
I personally do not recommend Cappadocia trekking in the summer, but if you go in a cooler season and just bring water and sunscreen, it is recommendable.
Uchisar...
Located not far from Goreme.
You can take a bus or a taxi.
The bus costs 10 lira per person, and the taxi costs about 40-60 lira if you go by the meter.
There are some sights to see on the way to Uchisar Castle, as well as many souvenir shops and delicious steak pizza places.
The inside of the castle has shade and is cool, so you can visit without feeling hot even during the daytime.
After visiting, come down to the main road and catch a passing taxi to go back to Goreme; it costs about 50 lira by meter, though it may vary depending on the location.
It's definitely a place worth visiting if you come to Goreme.
When you come down, if you take the alleyway instead of the way you went up, you'll find many cafes with great views... Having a drink doesn't cost much, so take a break with a juice while enjoying the view.
Traditional markets centered around Konya.
"Türbeönü çarşıları" means "markets near the tomb" in Turkish. These are types of markets that can be seen in various cities of Turkey. Typically, these markets are located in the historical city centers of Turkey and are situated around landmarks or historical buildings.
These markets are places where traditional Turkish culture, handicrafts, clothing, fruits, vegetables, and a variety of other goods are sold, attracting both locals and tourists. They offer a place to experience the local history and culture, with a variety of shops and stores providing an interesting shopping experience.
In particular, try the Konya-style long Turkish pizza, pide. The cheese kebab is truly a work of art.
The Selimiye Mosque at the heart of Konya...
Located next to the Mevlana Museum.
Construction began in 1558 when Sultan Selim was ruling Konya and was completed in 1567.
It is one of the most beautiful examples of classical Ottoman architecture in Konya.
The atmosphere is similar to the Fatih Mosque in Istanbul.
The space covered by the central dome has been expanded with a half-dome on one side.
The mosque interior, which has a narthex with seven domes and two minarets, is decorated with fine pen work.
The museum area is quite spacious as it is a place to be visited together.
