Gulangyu Island is located at the southwest corner of Xiamen Island, facing Xiamen across the sea, with only a 600-meter wide Lujiang River separating it from Xiamen Island. It takes a ferry about 4.5 minutes to reach the island. (Now, it takes about 40 minutes to circumnavigate the island.) With an area of 1.87 square kilometers and a population of over 20,000, it is currently under the jurisdiction of Siming District. The climate on the island is pleasant, resembling spring all year round. There are no noisy vehicles, only the chirping of birds and the fragrance of flowers, earning it the reputation of being a "Garden on the Sea."

A Trip to Xiamen’s Centre!

Xiamen has beautiful beaches and beautiful islands.
There is a beautiful pedestrianised only street called Zhongshan Street in the middle of the main island. You can see the iconic white Qi Lou buildings and nice palm trees.
This is a wonderful place to buy local snacks and eat yummy dinner. You can spend a good afternoon here to relax and shop!

The beautiful Zhongshan park in Xiamen
Zhongshan park is a must visit for tourists in Xiamen. It is located in the south near the heart of the city.
The park is nearly a century old as it was opened in 1927, resonating a superb beauty for the city's residents. Inside you will see senior citizens playing Chinese checkers and enjoying the social space.
It is conveniently located next to exit 3 of Zhongshan park metro station, making public transport very convenient.

A wonderful place to relax in Xiamen! 🇨🇳
Miles long dike in Xiamen is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the tranquility and comfort given by nature. Many trees are planted in the long embankment section and the sea breeze is rustling with leaves. Places has has beautiful scenery. At night can see the beautiful scenery star lights and night traffic.

I had fun visiting the one country and two systems beach in Xiamen. The sculpture of the big hands and small hands is it’s landmark building. The weather there is pretty good and it’s also a relaxing place to chill and have some fun. A must visit place for those visiting Xiamen city!

The icon of Xiamen, the twin towers
The twin towers are the iconic landmark of Xiamen and can be seen for miles away, even from Haicang district on the mainland! They are worth a visit if you're into entertainment and shopping, hosting a variety of shops at the base of the tower.
At the top you will find luxury hotels including the Conrad hotel. Nearby are lots of other landmarks such as Xiamen university and the Shapowei art zone.

One of the most underrated tourist destinations in Xiamen is the Zhongshan road where you can experience old Fujian! there are restaurants and shops as far as the eye can see! 👀☺️
I had authentic local food and filled my belly up with milk tea. Afterwards I enjoyed a curry 🍛 before eating famous tofu for dessert! I highly recommend a visit and guarantee you will not be disappointed!

The Best Beach Oasis in Xiamen!
Attraction name: Huangcuo sand beach
Location: East Xiamen
Located only ten minutes from the centre of Xiamen and only twenty minutes from the airport, I recommend going to Huangcuo Beach. Why?
It’s quiet, the sand is soft, the waves are calm and there are many quaint coffee shops with sea views. We enjoyed walking along the beach and then entered a coffee shop with a sea view.
There is ample outside sun loungers and air conditioned seating in the coffee shops and it’s a great summer oasis.

I really like this place.The library is free for all people including foreigner.The place is wide and easy to reach just take subway and direct to here.There are so many books. Beautiful temple
#fujian#xiamen#china#temple We go there by bus which park in front of the temple.We dont have to buy a ticket just scan and checkin.Free entry. The officer is so kind.The view is wonderful.There are many souvenirs shops and sell beautiful souvenirs.

I went to Gulangyu island, which is so wonderful.It's super easy to go there. We went direct to port by subway and the station is in front of the ticket center.Then we go to buy ticket and wait for a ferry.A ferry is so comfortable.This island is ancient and interesting.We went to the beach and walk around.Very beautiful and nice people.I just pay everything by alipay.It's so easy.#Gulangyu#xiamen#china #fujian
Fresh Air in Gulangyu 🏖️
Went here on Spring 2018, and it was an amazing experience!
All the corners in Gulangyu were pretty. The air was also fresh. Spent 3 hours here was not enough. There were many things to see. We want to stay here longer. I came here with private group tour, and I suggest you to try it too. Then your trip will be fun. Because you'll not only do sightseeing, but also will listen to the story of each spots in Gulangyu.

Royal Victoria Hotel Xiamen 🌼
Stayed at Royal Victoria Hotel for 2 nights. One of my best experience was woke up to this pretty view! The five-star hotel has all we need as a traveler; various delicious menu for breakfast, pretty interior design, great service, as well as spacious and comfortable room. It is located 16km (30mins driving) from Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport.
So far I enjoyed Xiamen so much. It took only 5 hours flight from Jakarta, and the direct flight usually provided by Xiamen Airlines. You should try to stay here too when you're in Xiamen ✨

This tex mex restaurant’s food is top notch in Xiamen. It definitely will not disappoint. The seasoning and flavours were amazing. The atmosphere and ambiance in restaurant is nice as well. The staff was good for most part. It’s definitely a place worth going too if you love Mexican food. The prices were decent but for food you are getting, it is worth it. The margarita wasn’t bad but I felt it could be better. Overall this place is a gem and I would give it 4/5 stars #xiamentravel #xiamenguide #xiamen

Top five attractions of Xiamen you can’t miss
During the January 2023, we spent nine days in Xiamen. We visited almost all the major attractions of this super beautiful and charming city and we believe the top five ones are:
1)Gulangyu island,
2)Xiamen Botanical Garden and Zhonggu Cableway,
3)Nanputuo Temple,
4) Walking along Kulangsu Huandao Road and having a coffee at Conrad Hotel Xiamen.
5)Go Shopping at Zhongshan Road
I would say that 3 to 4 days is probably enough for completing this list and enjoying this fairy-tale island.

Getting There - taxi is your best option as it is quite a way away, if you're feeling active, you can ride the rental bikes along the shore
Attractions - Hulishan fort is a traditional Fort built into the hillside, it has a huge array of historical cannons for shore defences, its currently undergoing some renovation, but the area itself is surrounded in lovely flora
highlight is the huge Krupo cannon, it is crazy how big that thing is! 🎯🧨

Cloudy with with chance of fun ✨️
#xiamen was an impromptu trip I took during the #yearofrabbit CNY weekend. It definitely didn't go as planned as the weather was very cloudy and rainy but I still made the best of it. A lot of recommendations were closed during the holiday weekend but I still enjoyed my time visiting the places I did. I highly recommend #zhongshan Pedestrian Street, it's great for strolling and finding some great streetfood and cool stores. Also, I recommend the Helium Air Balloon ride on Xiada Baicheng beach. Overall a good trip!
Historic Gulangyu Island 🏝🏛🏘
Gulangyou its a tiny (only 2 km2), pretty island off the coast of Xiamen in Fujian Province. 🏝
Especially famous for its historic architectural heritage and its diverse subtropical nature, the island is entirely pedestrian zone! 🚶🏃🚶
No cars, motorbikes or even bikes are allowed... That makes it extremely enjoyable to visit!
The island hosts hundreds of beautiful colonial style buildings over a century old and several museums... 🏘 That's why Gulangyu holds the reputation of "Exhibition of the World’s Architecture" and has been enlisted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 🏛

Tickets: The island is free, however some of the attractions on the island have entrance ticket.
Where to stay: Yunji Hotel, conveniently located in the middle of the island, in a beautiful historic building and close to many restaurants.
What to do: Wonder around aimlessly and taste some local seafood dishes! And if it's summer, check out the beach! 🏖

Lucky me, on my way I met SAME explorers 😂 and it wasn’t boring to walk and walk and walk🚶🏻♀️
