Overall, I had a really nice stay at this hotel. The highlight for me was definitely the view. I had a room overlooking the ocean, and waking up to that scenery every day was absolutely beautiful. The room itself was lovely as well clean, well-maintained, comfortable, and furnished to a high standard.
The location is great in many ways, but there is one thing worth mentioning. The hotel is right next to a train station, which unfortunately can be quite noisy. I’m a light sleeper, and I often woke up when trains arrived, especially late at night or early in the morning because of the warning sounds. I ended up using white noise to help me sleep. If you're only staying for a night or two, it probably won't bother you much, but for a longer stay it may be something to consider.
I didn't get a chance to use the facilities, but I did have a look at the rooftop bar and swimming pool, and both looked fantastic with amazing views.
The breakfast was probably the weakest part of my experience. I only had it once and then decided to explore some of the nearby cafés instead. Honestly, I enjoyed those much more, and it was a nice way to discover the area.
As for the service, the staff were always polite and helpful, but they seemed quite stretched. Whenever I called for assistance, it usually took around 30 to 40 minutes, and sometimes I had to follow up. That said, it wasn't something that really upset me or took away from the overall experience.
Despite a few minor drawbacks, I genuinely enjoyed my stay. The beautiful room, stunning ocean views, and overall atmosphere made it a memorable experience.
They’re good, and their service is also good. But their online response is very bad. I didn't get any response to when I texted and called them, as I had some queries.
But their hospitality is very good.
And food is also tasty.
I recently stayed at the Ramada by Wyndham Colombo, and overall it was a wonderful experience.
The room was extremely spacious, honestly one of the largest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in within Colombo. Everything was very clean and well maintained, and the amenities were excellent. The room included everything you might need—tea and coffee facilities, toiletries, toothbrushes, and more. The bed was very large and comfortable, and the TV, office table was huge as well. All the facilities such as the lights, air conditioning, and fan worked perfectly, so we had no issues at all.
Our room was on the 8th floor (top floor) and we had a nice view overlooking the Galle Face Hotel with a small view of the ocean. The location of the hotel is also excellent since it is very close to Galle Face Green and many other attractions in Colombo, which makes it very convenient for travelers.
The check-in process was smooth, and they welcomed us with a refreshing welcome drink. One thing to note is that the security procedure is quite strict. When we had guests visiting our room briefly, they had to provide their IDs and go through a security check. It was the first time I experienced this in a hotel, but it is understandable since it helps maintain safety.
Although we booked bed and breakfast, we later asked if we could add the dinner buffet, but unfortunately it was already full. However, something very kind happened later that night. My mother wanted chicken congee, so we asked the room service staff if it was available. Even though it was not on the menu at that moment, they were kind enough to prepare and send us a bowl of chicken congee. It was a very thoughtful gesture, and we truly appreciated their kindness.
The breakfast buffet was excellent with a very wide variety of food, and everything we tried was delicious. My family has always liked the buffets at Ramada, and this time was no different. They also had live cooking stations, and the staff there were very friendly and welcoming.
Overall, everything about the stay was great. The room, service, location, and food were all excellent.
I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel. It is absolutely worth the price and offers great value for money.
We recently stayed at Galle Face Hotel, Colombo with my family. Overall, the hotel experience was good, especially the location and service. However, the rooms feel overly traditional and colonial, which does not fully meet modern-day requirements. The heavy wooden furniture and old-fashioned, posh décor may appeal to older patrons who appreciate classic heritage styles, but it may not suit travelers looking for a more contemporary stay. The electrical points and facilities are also quite outdated and not convenient for today’s laptop- and gadget-dependent travelers. I would suggest that the hotel consider modernizing some rooms and amenities, while still preserving a few heritage-style rooms for guests who prefer the traditional experiences.
I recently stayed at Amari Colombo in Colombo, and overall I had a wonderful experience.
I was especially impressed with Nishel. Despite his young age, he was extremely professional, respectful, and attentive to our needs. He immediately helped us find the most suitable room for our stay and handled everything efficiently. Upekha was also very helpful and kind throughout our visit, always ready to assist with a smile.
The only negative point was the early check-in policy. We arrived around 5:00 a.m. and were asked to pay an additional $150, which felt quite expensive and significantly higher than the average nightly rate listed on various booking platforms.
Other than that, everything was excellent. The view was stunning, the rooms were spotless, and the breakfast was rich and delicious, offering many options from both local and international cuisine.
I would definitely choose to stay here again. Thank you for the warm hospitality!
I stayed here for two nights and found the experience to be average. The location is definitely the best part of this hotel—you can’t beat it for convenience.
I had requested a birthday cake upon arrival, and the hotel did a good job of arranging that for me, which I appreciated. However, the rest of the stay was hit-or-miss. The cleanliness was only average, and the receptionist wasn't very attentive. It’s a fine place if you just need a central spot to sleep.
Experience Sri Lanka's first theme-park style resort! Perfect for families and features a massive kids' water park, infinity pool, Gym and tennis/basketball court,"
We stayed at the hotel for one night before flying from Colombo to Russia. And it was the perfect choice! We were impressed with its friendliness, cleanliness, beautiful, cozy lounge areas, and spacious rooms!
It's a great choice for a pre- or post-flight getaway!
We were greeted from the very beginning upon arrival, our luggage was taken, and we were escorted to check-in. While we waited for our keys, we were given cold towels to cool down with and refreshments. It was the first time we'd encountered cold towels—just what we needed, as it was incredibly hot!
We were upgraded to a Superior Room with a complimentary room view, which was very nice.
Location: The hotel is 15 minutes from CMB International Airport. This is a definite plus, because the next morning we called a taxi and were at the airport in just 15 minutes.
It's not on the ocean, but it's located next to a beautiful lagoon—the view is stunning! The ocean is an 8-12-minute drive away, and the same distance to a street with shops, cafes, and bars.
Rooms: spacious, clean, with a wonderful balcony for the whole group! I'd call the shower a tropical downpour because of the incredible pressure! It has everything you need for comfort.
A refrigerator is the only thing missing in the rooms.
Amenities: The hotel has a pool, a restaurant, and a rooftop bar—everything you need.
Food: We didn't include breakfast in our rooms because the Sasha food court was nearby, where you can eat for half the price. But we did have dinner on the day of our arrival at the restaurant, at tables on the shore of the lagoon—it was amazing! The view is like being in a fancy restaurant. The prices aren't exorbitant, but the quality of the food is average. The food is worse than in Viligama. The pizza tasted like it came straight from a ribbon, the steaks were a bit dry, and the seafood was a bit underwhelming. 😏 But we've already been spoiled by the good food in Weligama. Overall, the restaurant is perfect for a snack and cocktails with a great sunset view!
The service: simply wonderful! Like a hotel in the Maldives)) They bring everything, help everyone, and don't even let you bring anything to the table yourself—they do everything for you. It was a real hit!
Conclusion: this is a wonderful hotel for a getaway before or after a flight! A couple of days here is a great option.
Location is very remote, no restaurant or hotel nearby to eat anything only grad food delivery
