Our stay at Marriott Perhentian exceeded every expectation once again. This was our third visit in less than 12 months, and each time the experience has been even better than the last. , with crystal-clear water, pristine beaches, multiple swimming pools and incredible views in every direction. The resort itself is beautifully designed, perfectly blending luxury with the natural beauty of the island. What truly makes this place exceptional is its people. Every single staff member we encountered went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and genuinely cared for. Their kindness, attention to detail, and willingness to help at every opportunity made all the difference. Special thanks to Faizal and zafirah our host. The rooms were immaculate, spacious, and extremely comfortable. The food was consistently excellent, offering great variety and outstanding quality. With 3 restaurant to chose from, Sekoci for fine dining and day time pizzas and quick bites, Dapur for breakfast and dinner with wide selection of delicious local and international food. A special thank you to the entire Marriott Perhentian team for creating such memorable experiences. It is rare to find a place where every aspect of hospitality is delivered with such passion, consistency, and genuine care. Without hesitation, I would highly recommend Marriott Perhentian to anyone looking for an exceptional island getaway. Returning three times in less than a year speaks for itself, and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

A Resort with Great Potential, but a Very Disappointing Stay Peridot has one of the nicest, quietest, and most beautiful stretches of sandy beach in Redang. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended for us. The resort has tremendous potential, but it is let down by poor maintenance, limited food choices, and pricing that simply doesn’t match the overall experience. Our biggest disappointment was the villa. Despite paying over RM1,000 per night, the spacious villa was fitted with only a single 1.5HP air-conditioner. The room was unbearably hot throughout our stay. We had no choice but to drag our beds directly in front of the air-conditioner just to get some sleep. We made repeated complaints over three nights, but unfortunately nothing could be done. On our first day alone, we had to request repairs for the leaking bidet, faulty shower head, rain shower, and several other maintenance issues. While the staff responded promptly and were always polite, there is only so much they can do. The underlying problem lies with the overall management and upkeep of the property. Even the reception aircond is leaking 🫣 The swimming pool also deserves immediate attention. It is widely known among visitors staying at other resorts in Redang that Peridot’s pool is often dirty and murky. Ironically, the seawater at the beach looked much cleaner than the pool itself. The restaurant was another letdown. The menu was very limited, yet prices were among the highest on the island. Even the breakfast selection was disappointing and did not reflect the premium rates charged by the resort. What surprised us most was that many neighbouring resorts, despite having beaches that are not as beautiful as this one, felt much more vibrant, lively, and better maintained. After travelling to many countries around the world, it is genuinely disappointing that one of our most memorable negative hotel experiences happened in our own country. I sincerely hope someone from the company reads this review. This resort has enormous potential but requires significant investment in maintenance, facilities, food quality, and overall guest experience. More importantly, it needs an experienced hotel manager who can revive and properly manage what could easily become one of Redang’s best resorts. Malaysia is well known for its hospitality. Please don’t let such a beautiful property tarnish that reputation. With the right management and commitment to improvement, this resort could truly become something exceptional.

Facilities: The hotel entrance is grand, and there's a lobby boy to help with luggage. The public areas have two swimming pools: an irregularly shaped children's pool and a 25-meter, 1.2-meter-deep outdoor rectangular pool, which is open until 7 PM. Foreign guests are advised to wear tops for men and dress modestly for women to respect local customs. Restaurant: The hotel's breakfast restaurant also offers dinner, which is good value for money, and the food is delicious. Location: The hotel is about 1 km from the airport, a 20-minute walk. If you have luggage, the road isn't very smooth, so taking a car is recommended. To Redang Island: It's suitable as a transit point for Redang Island. A taxi from here to TTI Jetty isn't expensive, the journey is smooth, and you'll arrive on time. It feels like the price from TTI Jetty to Chinatown is more expensive than to here, and Chinatown is more run-down, with poorer accommodation conditions than this hotel. Hygiene: Good hygiene. Environment: Good environment, spacious rooms. Service: Staff are enthusiastic.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A perfect stay – highly recommend! The private beach right in front of the resort offers exceptional snorkeling, just a few steps away. From my room, the view of the sea and palm trees was simply splendid. I loved the authentic atmosphere with monitor lizards peacefully roaming the pathways, and the ease of hopping from one beach to another. The customer service was incredibly kind and helpful with booking activities and boat taxis – impeccable organization. Truly a favorite!

We initially had a frustrating experience as our towels were delivered quite late. However, the situation was handled professionally by Manager Iza, who personally delivered the towels to our room and sincerely apologized for the delay. Her prompt action and attention to guests made a positive difference. Overall, the rooms were spacious and comfortable. We booked four rooms and requested them to be located near each other, which the hotel successfully accommodated. However, housekeeping services need improvement, as one of our rooms was not serviced and there were some inconsistencies in room maintenance during our stay. The hotel’s location is excellent and very convenient. It is close to everything we needed, with Restoran Singgang Budu located right beside the hotel. There are also laundry facilities nearby, and plenty of food options within walking distance, making it a great choice for travelers. The staff were friendly, always smiling, and genuinely tried their best to accommodate our requests throughout our stay. While housekeeping could be improved, the service recovery by the management team and the hotel’s strategic location made our overall stay enjoyable.

Booking the VIP Chalet was absolutely worth it the room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully designed with a luxurious vibe. The moment I walked in, I immediately felt relaxed because the atmosphere was so peaceful, private, and comfortable. The bed was super comfy, the air-conditioning was perfect, and every facility provided felt premium. My favorite part was definitely the beautiful view and the romantic ambiance at night truly unforgettable. The staff were also very friendly and helpful from check in until check out, which made the experience even better. This place is perfect for honeymoon trips, birthdays, anniversaries, or simply a relaxing escape from busy city life. Honestly, the photos online don’t fully capture how amazing and beautiful this chalet is in real life. Some Room was ok but toilet it a bit dirty. Staff not help customers to check in and luggage you need to bring by yourself to the room upstairs . Staff at restaurant is good helpful. Nice view but a bit old room.

Things i enjoyed: Clean beach, large pools with playgrounds, friendly staffs. Pools have lifeguards on duty. Huge lobby. Kids fun club is okay. Just that the inflatable playground wasn't very sturdy. Cons: Lack of activities, hallway a big dark at night. One of thhings i wished to do here is atv ride and get a spa massage. But the atv is no longer available. The spas are no longer open. A bit sad. The place have a lot of potential. Went to turtoise information center but no one there. A security staff told us to go to reception for more info but just didn't have enough time to. The place is huge. Food is a bit pricey but i guess its okay for 4 or 5 stars hotel. Just that the taste is average.

I would like to sincerely thank you for the wonderful hospitality, friendliness, and helpful service throughout my wife’s and my stay at Tanjong Jara Resort. From the smooth check-in until check-out, every moment made our stay truly enjoyable, memorable, and relaxing. We had a very happy experience at the resort and would highly recommend Tanjong Jara Resort to our family and friends. It is definitely one of the best resort choices in Terengganu. The hotel is conveniently located near the jetty, making it very easy to travel around. There is also a dive center right downstairs, which is perfect for divers. Breakfast is included and offers a wide variety of choices. The hotel is very clean and well maintained, and the overall cleanliness exceeded our expectations. However, the air conditioning was a major issue. We booked several rooms, and all of them experienced problems with the air conditioning. Additionally, the swimming pool is noticeably smaller than it appears in the photos. Overall, the location, cleanliness, and convenience are great, but the air conditioning definitely needs improvement.
