Good selection of beers, especially the Belgian ones. A nice change of pace from the usual spots.

Heavenly was so helpful! She took our orders and brought everything over so we could just chill and chat. Perfect for a catch-up.

Bit of a wait on a busy Saturday, but the food was worth it when it came. The presentation was really nice, my main looked like a little garden on the plate.

Been coming here for years, and the Louisiana Seafood Night is a regular for me. That Cajun seafood boil is always spot on – the spice is consistent, the shrimp are never overcooked. It's the one dish that keeps me coming back.

Lovely brunch, the sharing board was a treat. Staff were really friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience feel relaxed. A nice touch that they offered prosecco or beer with it.

The fish and chips were spot on, a really good pub version. The sea bass was lovely too. I liked the feel of the place, it's got a nice, relaxed vibe with comfy booths.

The live music was a nice touch. They had a local guitarist playing some acoustic covers, not too loud. It made for a relaxed Friday night vibe. Just a bit of background, nothing overwhelming.

Nice traditional pub with a cosy garden. The staff were friendly, especially with our dog. A pleasant spot for a quiet pint.

Rooms are nicely done up and spotless. Comfy bed, slept well. Parking in the village is a huge bonus, saved a lot of hassle.

Been coming here for years. The room's always spotless and comfy, the food's consistently good. But the real draw for me is the location – it's so peaceful by the castle. That quiet never gets old.

Been coming here for years. The staff are always friendly, they remember my usual order. It's that kind of consistent, reliable service that keeps me coming back to this little spot.

First time trying this style. The server was really helpful - they put the skewers on the grill and took them off when ready. Made it so easy for us.

Thali's a steal at £12.99. The chicken was juicy, biryani portion huge. Got a drink and dessert too. Left feeling properly full.

Food's good, portions are big. Spice level is just right for me. Some of the curries felt a bit oily, but still enjoyed it. Would go back.

Booked the private room after a service at Gilroes. Staff were really warm. The sausage rolls and pork pies were generous, good selection of sandwiches too. Felt like a proper, quiet spot to gather.

Been here for a quick business lunch. The historic building has a genuine, cozy feel. Ordered the fish and chips - decent portion, cooked well. Service was prompt, which I appreciate. Good spot for a quiet meeting.

Come here for a few pints pretty often. They keep the beer well and there's a decent choice. Just wish it wasn't so cold inside this time of year.

The cask ales are always spot on here, kept perfectly. They run these beer festivals too, which is a nice touch. Found myself popping in more and more, it's just a really solid place for a pint.

The team handled our reunion of 30+ without a hitch. Service was quick, staff were genuinely friendly. My only note is the wine list felt a bit limited for the occasion. Still, a smooth evening.

Had a late lunch, no booking needed. The outdoor area is nice for a warm day, and they have a fire going inside. Staff were friendly when we arrived.

Saturday breakfast, solid. Service was prompt and efficient, which I appreciate. The full English was cooked well, no complaints there. A bit of a wait for a table, but that's expected on a weekend morning. Good spot for a straightforward meal.

Popped in for a drink. The chocolate stout was rich and smooth, really hit the spot. The rum was good too. Prices felt fair for what you get.

Staff are so lovely and polite. The coffee is always fantastic, just the right strength. It's the kind of place that feels warm the moment you step in.

Been coming here for years. Charlotte always remembers my usual order and brings it over with a smile. That kind of consistency is what keeps me coming back.

Popped in on a Wednesday, no booking. They squeezed us in, which was nice. Got the fish and chips. Honestly, the wait for the food was pretty long. But the portion was massive for the price, so I can't really complain.

Been coming here for years. It's just a nice, cosy spot to catch up with mates without the usual pub noise.
