No. 2 of Must-Visit Restaurants in Basel

Always very good. Menu carte changes frequently with the seasons and always brings interesting innovations as well as classic dishes. Very good wine selection

Been coming here for years. The terrace view is always so calming, just the right spot to unwind with a few friends after a long week. That's what keeps me coming back.

The octopus was the highlight—cooked just right, tender without being chewy. Place gets loud though, so don’t come here expecting a quiet conversation. Tapas are good but prices add up fast. Fine for a casual dinner if you’re in the area, just don’t make it your first choice for a business meet.

Solid sports bar, loads of screens everywhere. Smash burger was actually really good and the staff helped us snag a spot with a proper view of the match. 👍

Been coming here for a while now, and the coffee stays consistent. That's honestly the main thing for me. Interior's still clean, those wooden tables are a nice touch. Sat outside last time, weather was good. Just a solid spot for a quick break, nothing fancy.

Had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The location is great, the staff is welcoming and attentive, and the food is absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!

Near the train station and tram junction. Sit outside and people and tram watch. Nice staff, friendly, quick service, delicious food.

I had a wonderful time at Bar Rouge, where the view over the city was simply fantastic. The drinks were great, and the staff provided excellent service throughout the evening.

Solid steak, cooked right. Sauce was decent too. Service friendly, no complaints. French menu, nothing fancy but it works. Place was busy but we got a table quick. Fine for a casual dinner.

Stopped here for lunch after a walk around the lake. The terrace view is really nice. I had the schnitzel, pretty hearty portion. But the Black Forest cake was the highlight—honestly the best one I tried during my whole trip. Wish I had room for a second slice.

The L'Esquina burger is the only reason I keep coming back. Bun holds up, patty's properly seasoned, and the house iced tea cuts through the richness. Price is what you'd expect around here. Terrace is fine, but honestly, I'd eat this burger anywhere.

That hot wine at Pascal's place. The spices were just right, not too sweet. Best one I've had, honestly.

Daily menu changes, had the veggie option. Solid choice for lunch. Nothing fancy but it hit the spot.

This restaurant has a fantastic selection of wines, with over 100 options from around the world. The staff is knowledgeable and provides excellent service, making it a great spot for wine lovers.

The Black Forest cake was decent, not the best I've had, but the portion is huge. Honestly, one slice is enough for two people. Coffee was good too. Sat by the window with the cathedral view, that part was nice. Just wish the cake had a bit more flavor for the price. It's fine for a one-time visit though.

Tons of screens everywhere, so you won’t miss any game. Pool tables and darts keep it lively. Fair prices for Basel, staff actually helps you find the match. Solid spot.

Cash only — that almost got us at the end. Luckily I had enough on me, but definitely come prepared. The food itself was solid though, and the place had a nice buzz to it. Just wish they’d put up a sign or something before you sit down. Would’ve saved us the awkward moment at the register.

The shakshuka was the standout — rich, spicy, perfect with fresh bread. Brunch spread had plenty of options but honestly, that one dish was enough for me.

Stumbled in when everywhere else was packed. Simple place, but the food was solid and service was friendly. Exactly what I needed.

Booked it for a private thing and honestly the wines just kept coming. Team handled everything smoothly. Solid pick if you're organizing something.

The staff remembered my usual order. That kind of consistency keeps me loyal. Service was quick even during the lunch rush.

Nice spot for a quick breakfast. The coffee was solid and the cake selection looked good. Really like that they run an inclusive workplace here, adds something meaningful. Would come back if I'm in the area.

The goat cheese Flammkuchen was a bit too sweet for me, but the classic one with bacon hit the spot. Cappuccino was solid too. Quick lunch, no complaints.

Stopped by for a drink around sunset. The outdoor area is really chill, perfect for unwinding. Service was quick, got my negroni in no time. Nice spot to just sit and watch the street.

Perfect for a quick lunch. The grilled meat platter is huge and under €25. Got me back to work in no time.

Loved the terrace for lunch. The salad was fresh with a nice mix of greens, and the tart had a perfect flaky crust. A really nice spot to relax.
