Hotel is relative clean. Stayed in a single room with a semi double bed. Size is decent but didn’t realised it was behind the lifts, could hear the lift moving through out the day.
The shower head position is pretty bad. It’s not on an angle it’s pretty much like spraying directly into your body. It would be great if they could address this.
It’s 15 mins walk from the metro station so not closed.
Also there was a cockroach in the bathroom. Crawled out of the drain

Guest User1. Misleading Entrance Signage
Upon arrival, we followed the signage pasted on a pillar that directed guests to a staircase entrance. However, when we reached that entrance, we were shocked to find the door marked with the sign “来宾止步” (“Guests Stop Here”). When we raised this with your staff, we were told that this entrance has not been in use since the COVID-19 period. While we understand that certain operations may have changed during the pandemic, COVID-19 restrictions have ended for more than two years. If the primary entrance has been permanently closed, why has no corrective action been taken and the misleading signage still left there? Carrying heavy luggage up and down a sloped path unnecessarily was frustrating and avoidable.
2. No Staff Assistance or Clear Signage at the New Entrance
When we finally located the new entrance, there were no staff members on standby to assist us, nor was there any clear external signage indicating that this was the correct way to access the lobby. The explanation given later was that all staff were away assisting with parking which is not acceptable. At least one person should have been assigned to remain at the entrance, or the last person leaving should have arranged for another colleague to cover the position. In addition, the Operations Director mentioned that there is signage inside the new entrance directing guests to take the elevator to the lobby. However, this logic is flawed. If guests cannot locate the correct entrance in the first place, how could they possibly see a sign placed inside?
3. Poorly Trained and Unprofessional Front Desk Behavior
After struggling outside, we called the number listed on Google. Only then did someone finally come out and lead us in. By that time, we were exhausted and upset. When we confronted the front desk staff about why they ignored us, despite us clearly visible outside the “来宾止步” glass door, making eye contact and knocking for help, but they claimed they “did not see us.” This excuse was clearly untrue, as we observed them looking in our direction. Even more disappointing, none of the front desk staff offered an apology even until we requested to speak to the Operations Director and asked him to review the CCTV footage. After reviewing the footage, the Operations Director confirmed that the front desk had not been alert and apologized on their behalf. However, he did not acknowledge that the front desk’s attitude and lack of sincerity were also serious problems. Being “not alert enough” and showing no sense of apology or empathy are two entirely different issues.
As an international hotel, the front desk is the first impression of your service. Regardless of the quality of your facilities, this poor experience completely overshadowed the positive aspects of our stay. It also severely damages the reputation of Kagaya Group — a brand that has long been admired for its exemplary Japanese hospitality and politeness. Although we appreciate the Operations Director’s effort to make amends by offering us a meal and gifts (which we declined), it remains undeniable that this incident reflects a failure in staff training and management oversight.
We hope that management will seriously review this incident, especially the issues of:
- Inadequate and misleading signage at the entrance
- Lack of staff presence and assistance upon guest arrival
- Poor front desk awareness and unprofessional behavior
We trust that Kagaya Group will uphold its proud tradition of service by addressing these problems promptly and ensuring no other guests experience such treatment in the future.
Thank you for your attention.

Exceptional Stay at Hotel Royal Hsinchu: A Standout Choice for Business & Leisure
My recent visit to Hotel Royal Hsinchu (Hsinchu, Taiwan) exceeded all expectations, with flawless performance across every critical metric for a luxury hotel stay. Here’s a detailed, verified review organized by your requested criteria:
Cleanliness (9.4/10)
The hotel sets an immaculate standard. Guest rooms—including spacious beds, sleek干湿分离 (wet-dry) bathrooms with smart toilets, and city-view windows—are wiped down thoroughly daily, free of dust, odors, or stains. Public zones (lobby, restaurant, pool, and gym) are continuously maintained; even high-touch surfaces like elevator buttons and doorknobs are sanitized regularly. The entire property is smoke-free, ensuring fresh air throughout, with no musty smells common in older luxury hotels.
Location (9.3/10)
Perfectly positioned at No.227, Section 1, Guangfu Road, right on the doorstep of Hsinchu Science Park (ideal for business travelers). It’s a short drive to freeway interchanges, Hsinchu High-Speed Rail Station, and downtown shopping/dining districts. The free shuttle service connects guests to the science park, HSR station, and key local spots, eliminating transit hassle.桃园国际机场 (Taoyuan International Airport) is about a 40-minute drive away, while nearby convenience stores, cafes, and local eateries are within walking distance.
Service (9.5/10)
Attentive, professional, and warm—this team goes above and beyond. The doormen greet you by name after check-in, front desk staff handle requests (room upgrades, late check-out, local tips) quickly and politely, and multilingual support ensures global guests feel at ease. Bellhops assist with luggage promptly, breakfast attendants refill stations proactively, and housekeeping is discrete yet thorough. The staff’s willingness to personalize your stay (e.g., arranging birthday amenities) truly elevates the experience.
Amenities (9.0/10)
The hotel offers a comprehensive suite of luxury facilities. Guest rooms come with free high-speed Wi-Fi, premium linens, mini-bars, welcome drinks, and in-room safes. The heated outdoor pool and sauna are perfect for unwinding after a long day; the fully equipped fitness center caters to health-focused travelers, and the Royal Beauty Salon provides relaxing massages and treatments. The on-site restaurants serve an impressive breakfast buffet (featuring both international cuisine and authentic ********* specialties) plus refined Chinese, Japanese, and Western dining options. Additional perks include free parking, business center services, family-friendly rooms, and adapter/board game rentals.
Final Verdict
Hotel Royal Hsinchu is a five-star gem that balances luxury, practicality, and genuine hospitality. Whether you’re visiting Hsinchu for work (especially at the science park) or exploring the city’s culture and food, this hotel delivers an outstanding stay with zero compromises. I can’t recommend it highly enough and will definitely return on my next trip to Hsinchu.

Guest UserThe service was pretty good; I didn't touch my luggage after getting out of the car. However, I didn't have many needs or encounter much service to begin with. There were a lot of Japanese staff members... both times I checked in and out, they were Japanese women, and I struggled to understand their Chinese. Maybe they should stick to speaking Japanese... The room was a bit old but perfectly fine, standard for a five-star hotel. Two large brass keys offered the ultimate vintage experience. They're still practicing 'eco-friendliness' by shifting costs to guests, providing a sanitary bag which was genuinely inconvenient since I was on my period. The bathtub wasn't great; at 1.72m, I just barely fit in, it wasn't spacious at all, and it only had one faucet, no adjustment. No slippers or disposables, but I loved the scent of the three bath products. The welcome fruit was a bit of a joke; the welcome pastries, however, surprised me at first, coming in such a large wooden box. But then I thought, how is this different from being handed a random pile of wedding candies? I couldn't eat it all anyway. It was annoying that there wasn't a three-pin socket by the bed to charge my phone's dual Type-C ports; only the desk had two, one 110V and one 220V. Directly opposite the window was just a regular vintage residential building, but there was a distant view of Taipei 101, which was a pleasant surprise.
The public areas exuded old money charm... The underground Regent Galleria is a high-end mall... I'd never seen one inside a hotel before, quite an experience. There were also many dessert shops. For me, zero appeal, zero shopping capability. The design of the restaurant or banquet hall near the lobby was a bit poor, with many steps and no accessibility facilities, still very vintage. There was a piano and cello performance in the pool at the bottom of the building in the evening.
P12-15 The good reviews for this place really come down to nostalgia and food, I guess. I hadn't booked breakfast, but after seeing so many positive reviews, I quickly added it. It was $968 per person. Open from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM, with the last seating at 9:30 AM. I went at 9 AM, and it was mostly full, so it's clearly very popular. The variety was indeed rich, with many ********* specialties, and the taste was decent, though not amazing. Apart from the service and breakfast being standard, my personal experience felt more like 4.5 stars.

matto YI particularly enjoyed the hotel's close proximity to ximending and the MRT station, the cleaning service was excellent and the environment was clean. One thing is that the gym was a bit unmaintained and had rusty equipments, everything else was perfect other than that! I particularly liked the bathtub and the comfy beds. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to travellers who are looking for a comfy stay near the dazzling ximending!

Facilities: There's a 7-Eleven nearby and a FamilyMart right across the street, which is quite convenient overall. However, it's a bit far from the subway station, at least a 15-minute walk. The hotel can help call a taxi.
Service: The service was good. On the first day, my room had a very strong perfume smell, which made me uncomfortable as soon as I entered. I immediately contacted the front desk to request a room change. After about a 10-minute wait, staff assisted me in successfully changing rooms! Throughout my stay, all my needs were met to my satisfaction!
The hotel offers views of Songshan Airport and Taipei 101 on one side, and the Ferris wheel 🎡 on the other!

QhchenI've stayed at this hotel multiple times, and it's always been a good experience. The hot springs are very relaxing and enjoyable. I do feel that next time, there could be fewer strict rules – it's just a hotel stay after all. I remember before checking in, all I wanted to do was rest, but the front desk kept me there explaining a lot of precautions. I wish I could just read the information myself.

Sweetme Hotspring Resort is a fantastic place to unwind and recharge. The location is excellent, just a few minutes’ walk from Xinbeitou Station and conveniently close to many restaurants.
One of the highlights of the stay was the spa experience. Guests can enjoy both the private in-room hot spring and the public spa facilities. The room was clean, spacious, and thoughtfully designed for comfort. Breakfast was another strong point, with a good selection of food to start the day right.
Overall, Sweetme Hotspring Resort delivers a well-rounded experience with great amenities, a prime location, and a relaxing atmosphere. I will definitely come back again.

Guest UserThe environment is beautiful, and the service attitude is also great! 👍 What I liked most was the incredibly rich breakfast. The location is also very convenient. It's just that they were a bit too enthusiastic, which I'm not entirely used to. 😅☺️☺️☺️
