Hotels With spa in Aomori Prefecture, Japan

This is our second time staying at this hotel in two years. The location is excellent, right above the train station. The facilities are new, clean, and upscale. They also offer laundry service, which is a paid amenity. On the 6th floor, there's a hot spring, as well as private hot spring baths, and various beauty treatments. There's also a lounge where you can enjoy views of Aomori Bay and drink your fill of complimentary apple juice.

We stayed at the Japanese Style Tatami room for our time at Hirosaki. Location was near Hirosaki Castle Park and not too far away from Hirosaki JR station. There were local bus stops located nearby the hotel - the hotel also provided a free shuttle bus service from the hotel to Hirosaki Station (one way only service, so you still got to find your own way to the hotel when you arrive), just got to inform the front desk at least 1 day in advance.  Room was clean and had a good view of Hirosaki city, free flow of Apple Juice and coffee at the lobby downstairs was a plus.

Very beautiful clean hotel with great apple onsen bath! Excellent dinner and breakfast. Shamisen performance was entertaining too. We enjoyed staying here!

We thought it's going to be fresh in August up the mountain but it wasn't. Very hot and without air-conditioning you'll be suffering. Rooms are tiny and it barely fit 4 people. Road to get there is rough so make sure you have an off road car (the last 5 min only). The onsen is insanely beautiful especially the women's. Food was pre-served and left out in the heat to stand. Didn't look particularly appealing. Shared bathrooms.

A very sincere family-run hot spring hotel. The hostess is the mother and the son is the boss. They are both very enthusiastic and attentive. The hospitality is top-notch and full of warmth. There is a small corridor in the side hall for free flow after 5 o'clock😎 Various alcoholic drinks and my favorite Aomori apple juice. The boss played the shamisen to entertain everyone. The atmosphere was very comfortable and relaxing. The breakfast and dinner were very rich. The local cuisine was fresh and delicious. Free flow continued 🤣 The room was very spacious and clean. I slept very well. The large bath will not disappoint. I slept until dawn after taking a bath. The three-day and two-night stay was really comfortable.

The hotel is directly opposite the aquarium and next to Asamushi Onsen. It's a 5-minute walk, and after a soak, there's a market selling all sorts of apple juice and fruit souvenirs. There weren't many guests staying at the hotel, probably due to the heavy snowfall in Aomori. Both breakfast and dinner were Japanese set meals. The sukiyaki and sashimi were excellent. It was just us and one other couple dining. In the evening, there was a Nebuta performance and sanshin (three-stringed instrument) music. Even with so few guests, the performers were incredibly dedicated and put on a great show. The large public bath is on an upper floor facing the sea, and the island and bay opposite are beautiful. The open-air bath also has two barrel-shaped tubs.

I absolutely love Japanese onsen hotels. Imagine, after a long day of traveling, you can just soak in a hot bath all evening – pure bliss! (╹◡╹) Overall, Hoshino Resorts is very conveniently located. It's just a 10-minute walk from the nearest JR Misawa Station, or you can easily book the hotel's shuttle bus. For dining, you can book the buffet in advance through their official website, which is convenient and hassle-free. The variety of dishes is also quite extensive. Regarding activities, the hotel has a fairly concentrated game area. Some activities are free, while others have a fee. You can check the details and plan ahead on their official website.

The staff always treats you politely. I had coffee after breakfast, but I thought I would have a paper cup and a lid.

The reserved room did not have a private bathroom, so I spent 7,000 yen at the front desk to upgrade to a room with a private bathroom. The quality of breakfast and dinner is also inferior to that of the nearby Jokura Hotel. All in all, apart from maintaining the traditional hot spring culture, Suantang Hot Spring really has nothing to attract people.
