Great
YYZAKThe location is incredibly convenient, right on the second floor of Kyoto Station. Every time we exited the subway, we were practically at the hotel, which was super handy. The room itself was quite spacious, with a business-like aesthetic. The night view from the window was fantastic; from our room, we could see the railway lines of Kyoto Station, and I imagine the Kyoto Tower would be visible from the other side. It seems the swimming pool has a fee. When we checked out, my son forgot his watch in the room. After contacting Ctrip, the hotel located it and held it at the front desk. When we went to pick it up, they had even packaged it nicely in a bag for us. The service was absolutely excellent.

Amazing
IIRADAThough the hotel itself is good (I’m staying here for a second time), this time the service was awful.1) went to breakfast, me and my friend ordered 2 dishes, when in 20 mins time there still was nothing, we reminded a waitress of our order… another 20 mins - still nothing. All in all we spent 40 mins at the breakfast restaurant and didn’t get our food. When we explained this to the hostess she just said “sorry” and we left the restaurant hungry. 2) ordered afternoon tea for 3 persons (afternoon tea is served at another restaurant at the hotel). 2 normal sets and 1 for a person who doesn’t like dairy products. That person is me. I explained that I have no allergy, I just don’t like the taste of milk, cheese, et cetera. So I’m fine with bread and with sweets, just not the ones that have cheese on top. In the end instead of the sweets they brought me a fruit platter (that’s all, my friends got a lot of different sweets), when I again explained to the hostess that I’m fine with sweets (sweet bread) and would like to eat the sweets included in the afternoon tea set she just said that they “prepared smth else” for me (she meant the fruit platter). No apology no anything. Mind you, I ordered afternoon tea last year at this same place - everything was alright! As this is a 5 star hotel and everything here is rather expensive (including breakfast and afternoon tea) this is unacceptable level if service.

GGuest UserThe price doubles and goes up. I have stayed in this hotel many times. It always feels good. I came here again after many years and felt that the overall service and the quality of the food in the hotel were much worse. In particular, the service may be understaffed during the peak season, but it is indeed a very good hotel. Be sure not to make any mistakes when booking a hotel, otherwise he will be unkind and only care about money!
DDFXLarge hotel located in a very convenient location close to train stations and shopping centres.
There are two breakfast options in which you can choose to eat at a diversified buffet or a set menu in an observation deck on the 14th floor.
The hotel itself is a bit old but renovated inside. Overall, it's very luxurious for the price but the bedding were not too comfortable.
Free shuttle departs every 20 minutes between Kyoto station and the hotel. Super convenient for shopping at the station or transferring large luggages.
Water and ice filler locations are available on each floor. The gym cost extra to use. Luggage delivery is possible within the hotel as well (cash only).

Very Good
GGuest UserThe hotel is located across the street from Nijo Castle, about an 8-minute walk away. It takes about 6 minutes to walk to Exit 2 of Nijojo-mae Subway Station. It takes about 25 minutes to walk to Karasuma Oike Subway Station. The location is good. Breakfast was ok. The room is a bit old, there is not even a USB port, and the bed in the twin room is about 1.3 meters long. The hygiene is good.
GGuest UserThis traditional onsen hotel is very spacious, and the rooms are also quite large, maintaining the charm of a classic hotel. The hot spring baths are incredibly comfortable, and the breakfast is abundant (especially the freshly baked French croissants, served warm, which I paired with red bean paste and cheese – absolutely heavenly, I had three and still wanted more!). The polite service from the staff was truly delightful. Most of the guests were ********* tour groups and Japanese independent travelers. If you're visiting Miyazu, this is definitely the onsen hotel to choose; it's an unparalleled option for great value for money.
GGtZnI recently stayed at Rhino Hotel in Kyoto, and it was a pleasant experience overall! The hotel is conveniently located near Saiin Station, making it easy to explore the city. The room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped with modern amenities. I particularly appreciated the comfortable bed and the quiet ambiance, which made for a restful stay.
The staff were friendly and helpful, providing excellent service throughout my visit. I also enjoyed the complimentary access to the fitness center and pool, which was a nice bonus.
However, the decor felt slightly dated, and the breakfast options could have been more varied. Despite these minor points, I would highly recommend Rhino Hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable and reasonably priced stay in Kyoto
GGuest UserThe hotel's location is excellent, right next to Nanzenji Temple. The subway is also quite convenient, but the hotel's shuttle bus makes getting around even easier and more practical.
The staff are all incredibly warm and provide exceptional service. This is truly the best hotel I've stayed at in Japan. The rooms aren't small, and the housekeeping service is the best I've ever experienced in any hotel, even better than some Ritz properties I've stayed at before. The Japanese service is incredibly thoughtful. They neatly organized our charging cables, placed our child's jewelry and toys on a small tray, and tidied up the bathroom amenities perfectly. We were super satisfied.
The breakfast selection isn't huge, but everything is exquisite and delicious. I especially loved the freshly made onigiri and noodle soup, and they even had alcoholic beverages! The coffee was also very good.
The hotel facilities are excellent. The pool is well-maintained and never too crowded.
The onsen (hot spring) is also incredibly comfortable and well-managed. Soaking outdoors in winter was fantastic.
If I come to Kyoto again, I'll definitely look forward to staying at this hotel!
My only, very minor, regret is that I have a habit of collecting wooden room cards from hotels I've stayed at, but this hotel doesn't use them. Or perhaps the one given to me was made of wood, so I didn't keep a spare.
GGuest UserHotel is quite new and tastefully decorated. Room spacious and layout is functional. Dressing/ basin area rather dim, need to have brighter ( whiter ) light for make up etc.
Location is very good, few minutes away from metro and walkable to the Hankyu train station, short distance away from the main shopping areas and plenty of good restaurants around. Breakfast area is quite cramped, food variety and taste are good, worth a try.
GGuest UserStayed for a few nights, really comfortable, heard the sounds of birds and cicadas every day, all the staff were nice and polite, had their own hot springs, after playing you could soak in the hot springs in your room, and the hotel could get your luggage from Kyoto Station round trip to the station, very convenient, because Jiashuiyuan is on the other side of the hotel, like a paradise, the only bad thing is that some insects or geckos will accidentally enter the room, because I am afraid of insects, so have called the hotel The personnel help with it, but basically me, the hotel is really nice.
