This is a 4-star hotel, very close to Kyoto Station, and they offer a free shuttle bus to and from the station. The shuttle picks up on the left side when you exit the *Karasuma Central Exit* (条口) of Kyoto Station. There isn't much to explore around the hotel itself, and very few restaurants. If you plan on taking the train or eating out, it's best to head to Kyoto Station. Kyoto Station is large and beautiful, a tourist attraction in itself, and even has a big Isetan department store! The breakfast restaurant on the 14th floor is a revolving restaurant with panoramic views of Kyoto. However, the Western set breakfast is quite mediocre. The breakfast restaurant on the first floor offers both Japanese and Western options, but the value for money isn't great. In terms of transportation, besides taking the train from Kyoto Station, you can also catch a bus nearby. It's a bit far from the livelier areas of Sanjo and Shijo, making it suitable for guests who prefer a quiet stay and want to be close to Kyoto Station.

My main goal for this Kyoto trip was to revisit Kiyomizu-dera and Fushimi Inari-taisha, and explore Kibune. So I chose to stay near Kawaramachi, and ended up picking this Hilton. The hotel is right by Shiyakusho-mae Station on the Tozai Line. I'd recommend using the Kawaramachi Plaza exit, as it's the only one with an escalator; if you use Exit 1, you'll have to carry your luggage yourself. Technically, you can't see Honno-ji Temple's graveyard from the hotel, but it is close to the road and can be a bit noisy at night. In the mornings, there are fewer motorcycles, and Sundays are quiet – I even slept through breakfast one day! You can walk to Keihan Sanjo Station, enjoying the Kamo River along the way. If you prefer, it's also just one subway stop. It's not far to walk to Kawaramachi Shijo either, and there are plenty of dining options nearby. This time, I surprisingly opted for a breakfast and dinner package. The variety was better than at Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Sanjo Premier, but they don't change their menus, so eating the same thing for three consecutive days can get a bit monotonous. As for a drawback, I'd suggest the hotel checks the elevator buttons – the static electricity is quite bad; I got shocked almost every time.

Located on the 2nd floor, accessible by elevator from the central square exit, this hotel is incredibly convenient. It exudes the charm of a classic, established hotel. For breakfast, there's Ogawa and Yakiniku Hiro right across the street. We also found the best value for money meal near Komero Park – picture 4 shows a meal that was only 5000+ yen! Kinkaku-ji and Kiyomizu-dera are definitely worth visiting, and the Biwako Valley ski resort was stunning. The aquarium is good too. Kyoto is a city you can easily spend 3 days exploring.

The hotel's location is excellent, right next to Nanzenji Temple. The subway is also quite convenient, but the hotel's shuttle bus makes getting around even easier and more practical. The staff are all incredibly warm and provide exceptional service. This is truly the best hotel I've stayed at in Japan. The rooms aren't small, and the housekeeping service is the best I've ever experienced in any hotel, even better than some Ritz properties I've stayed at before. The Japanese service is incredibly thoughtful. They neatly organized our charging cables, placed our child's jewelry and toys on a small tray, and tidied up the bathroom amenities perfectly. We were super satisfied. The breakfast selection isn't huge, but everything is exquisite and delicious. I especially loved the freshly made onigiri and noodle soup, and they even had alcoholic beverages! The coffee was also very good. The hotel facilities are excellent. The pool is well-maintained and never too crowded. The onsen (hot spring) is also incredibly comfortable and well-managed. Soaking outdoors in winter was fantastic. If I come to Kyoto again, I'll definitely look forward to staying at this hotel! My only, very minor, regret is that I have a habit of collecting wooden room cards from hotels I've stayed at, but this hotel doesn't use them. Or perhaps the one given to me was made of wood, so I didn't keep a spare.

In the cherry blossom season, the hotel is difficult to set, although the location is not quiet in the scenic area. It is the signal that does not work, using the Kyoto Tourism official website network. The complimentary breakfast and dinner are good and the taste is good.

Could have give it 5stars if the bathroom is clean and not smell urine so bad. Others than that breakfast was awesome, Customer service was top not, location is perfect to go everywhere. Also they said they have bus service every 15 minutes to Kyoto station which is not true, we waited forever 1.5 hours or so, but they never came. We saw others hotel busses came by several times. I didn’t confront this to the front desk tho. We was taxi everywhere and it was cheap, furthest would be 20 minutes taxi drive and about 3,000 yen which is reasonable.

This traditional onsen hotel is very spacious, and the rooms are also quite large, maintaining the charm of a classic hotel. The hot spring baths are incredibly comfortable, and the breakfast is abundant (especially the freshly baked French croissants, served warm, which I paired with red bean paste and cheese – absolutely heavenly, I had three and still wanted more!). The polite service from the staff was truly delightful. Most of the guests were ********* tour groups and Japanese independent travelers. If you're visiting Miyazu, this is definitely the onsen hotel to choose; it's an unparalleled option for great value for money.

Though the hotel itself is good (I’m staying here for a second time), this time the service was awful.1) went to breakfast, me and my friend ordered 2 dishes, when in 20 mins time there still was nothing, we reminded a waitress of our order… another 20 mins - still nothing. All in all we spent 40 mins at the breakfast restaurant and didn’t get our food. When we explained this to the hostess she just said “sorry” and we left the restaurant hungry. 2) ordered afternoon tea for 3 persons (afternoon tea is served at another restaurant at the hotel). 2 normal sets and 1 for a person who doesn’t like dairy products. That person is me. I explained that I have no allergy, I just don’t like the taste of milk, cheese, et cetera. So I’m fine with bread and with sweets, just not the ones that have cheese on top. In the end instead of the sweets they brought me a fruit platter (that’s all, my friends got a lot of different sweets), when I again explained to the hostess that I’m fine with sweets (sweet bread) and would like to eat the sweets included in the afternoon tea set she just said that they “prepared smth else” for me (she meant the fruit platter). No apology no anything. Mind you, I ordered afternoon tea last year at this same place - everything was alright! As this is a 5 star hotel and everything here is rather expensive (including breakfast and afternoon tea) this is unacceptable level if service.

Hotel is located in residential area. 3mins bus stop nearby. Your may take bus go everywhere, quite convenient. Room is quite big but little bit dark. Lounge is at 3/F. It also provides sandwiches every morning. Guest could enjoy happy hour evening. All are included during your stay.

GGuest UserThe price doubles and goes up. I have stayed in this hotel many times. It always feels good. I came here again after many years and felt that the overall service and the quality of the food in the hotel were much worse. In particular, the service may be understaffed during the peak season, but it is indeed a very good hotel. Be sure not to make any mistakes when booking a hotel, otherwise he will be unkind and only care about money!

GGuest UserThis is the hotel I was most looking forward to and the least happy about during my entire trip. I booked two nights for RMB 15,000. I arrived at the hotel at 22:00 on the first day. I could only check in at the lobby of the Westin ordinary room. I didn’t get any special reception. The guy at the front desk had the coldest attitude in the hotel during the entire trip. You can't even squeeze out a smile. When I was going through the process, something unexpected happened. The employee in charge of Kaishuien (who was not wearing a kimono, but was dressed in the clothing department) was very serious and even said to me with a black face, ”You, immediately, tell your child not to have sex” Stomping in the lobby! I even thought I heard it wrong, because the lobby was a very empty traditional lobby, and not even a single guest was seen at night. I don’t know who was affected. I felt that she just hated children, so she issued such an order. I immediately called the two children After being quieter, she rolled her eyes and said nothing. When you first meet someone, you don't even give a warm greeting or greeting, but you start criticizing the guest. Is this the etiquette that your Jia Shui Garden should have? When we got to our room, it was even more exaggerated. She wouldn't let my two children talk! This is a suite, I don't understand why kids can't play in the room to express happiness and excitement? The introduction was always very robotic, and in the end, he actually accused my child of not putting his feet on the table. When the child heard that the sister didn't like him, he immediately hid, and the whole process was like a dean of discipline who kept scolding the child! This is the room I booked. It is my right to use it how I use it. How can I feel like I am living under someone else's roof? Finally, I couldn't help but politely argued with her, and rolled my eyes a few times. I want to ask what level of executive you are? Dare you treat your customers like this? Finally, I suppressed my anger and sent her away. I was so angry that I couldn't sleep all night. I have never felt so uncomfortable staying in a hotel! The next day her leader went to work. She was a very professional and attentive older lady wearing a kimono. Her service was very good. Only then did she realize that the last woman was a low-level employee responsible for cleaning and food delivery! It’s really a big deal! Fortunately, the people I contacted later were very polite and received meticulous care, but my mood was really deeply affected by this person on the first day! ! ! I regret not taking a picture of this person's name tag, but if you check with the hotel, you will definitely find it. It was a waiter in her 20s with bangs who received us on the first night. Finally, in fact, if you book a regular room for 1,000 a night, you can also visit Jiashui Garden. You don't have to pay ten times the price to make a big mistake, especially if you step on the thunder like me, the gain will outweigh the loss.
