The room's cleanliness was good 😃. The location is a bit remote, about 1.5 km from the city center. If you're driving, be careful on the way to the hotel as the roads are narrow and there's oncoming traffic 😃. However, the hotel's surroundings are excellent, completely surrounded by woods, making it worth a visit 😊. The hotel service deserves praise. They called two days in advance to ask about our arrival time to prepare parking and room arrangements 👍. As for meals, both dinner and breakfast had private rooms, and the food suited our family perfectly 😝. We had a wonderful time dining together 😊. Next time we visit Kurokawa Onsen, this hotel will definitely be our top choice again 😃.

Fantastic 2 nights stay.  It’s an oasis from the world, an escape from the hustle bustle of everyday life.  Classic ryokan, but tastefully updated with all the modern amenities.  The staff are extremely nice and welcoming, arranged pick up and drop off ahead of time.  The food is delicious and beautifully presented.  There are many options for indoor and the outdoor baths, with tranquil views of the river and waterfalls.  10/10, hope to return one day.

Awsome open bath's. Good quality of service, transfer from kurokawa center. As a guest of Yamamizuki you also can visit Shinmei-kan ryokan for free. Tasty dinner and relaxing atmosphere

Rooms, open-air hot springs, service... almost perfect! I could easily stay here for two or three days alone and not get bored. If you arrange it in advance, the driver will pick you up from the bus station and also drop you off when you leave, so there's absolutely no need to worry about transportation. I'm so glad I chose this hotel; thankfully, I didn't stay in the center of Kurokawa town, which was too crowded and a bit noisy. Why 'almost'? Because the duvet didn't have a proper cover, just a thin sheet separating it, which got messy every time I moved. It didn't feel very hygienic or comfortable. The food was just okay, nothing particularly outstanding, but it was filling. However, the dining environment was very pleasant! Overall, this is a hotel I would highly recommend to friends!

Choosing Sansuimoku for my first onsen ryokan experience was absolutely the right decision. The unagi don (eel rice bowl) was delicious, and the Japanese-style room felt like it came straight out of an anime. We picked room 303, which had a private onsen, and it was truly amazing, though the room did have a slight sulfur smell. The onsen water at Sansuimoku was fantastic; my skin felt incredibly smooth after soaking. The private onsen in the room was quite hot, so I had to add some cold water to enjoy it. The outdoor women's bath offered a beautiful view, with a waterfall and a babbling brook, creating a very serene atmosphere. The next day, I visited the onsen town, but I still preferred Sansuimoku. I highly recommend it to anyone traveling by car.

The scenery along the self-drive route was beautiful, and the hot spring, nestled in the mountains and built with wood, was incredibly comfortable and tranquil. The environment is top-notch, and at night you can see a sky full of stars. The staff were very kind and friendly.

The hotel facilities are complete. The reception staff were very polite to the children. The dinner and breakfast included in the stay were very satisfying; we were completely full. In March, we even saw morning snow. A perfect two-day stay.

The hot spring was great! The women's public bath had 5 pools – 2 outdoor, 3 indoor – plus a private one. The hotel service was excellent, and the food was decent and filling. The only downside was a strange odor in our room, 206, but otherwise, everything else was perfect.

This was my first time experiencing a Japanese-style hotel, and everything from the hot spring facilities to breakfast and dinner was absolutely perfect. It’s definitely a place I’d consider visiting again. The only drawback is its location upstream of Kurokawa Onsen, which is a bit far from the town. If you want to see the town's night view, you'll have to drive. During the day, you can hike from the hotel down to the town, and the natural scenery along the way is beautiful. Since it's downhill, it's not tiring. I recommend booking the hotel's shuttle service to pick you up from the town's visitor center in the afternoon, so you don't have to hike back uphill to Sansuimoku.
