Ceylon Olive Galle

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Ceylon Olive! From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was top-notch. Kumudu, the owner, was incredibly helpful and attentive, going above and beyond to ensure we felt at home. The pool was a standout feature – beautifully maintained and perfect for relaxing. Our room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed, making it a very comfortable stay. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged, and the staff’s friendly and accommodating nature truly elevated the experience. If you’re looking for a place with amazing amenities and exceptional service, I highly recommend Ceylon Olive. We’ll definitely be back!

Very stylish small hotel with elegantly decorated bedrooms in a lush garden setting. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Some suggestions for improvement: Rather simple coffee making facility (water kettle, instant coffee bags, but no tea, no milk) TV not working Poor light in the room In one of the rooms the shower was cold Note also: One of our rooms was accessible only via a winding staircase At the time of our visit (early December 2025) the breakfast area wasn't finished yet, so breakfast was served on the terrace outside the room.

It is a beautiful place and they are very friendly. The rooms are clean and the garden is full with wild birds (such as the asian Paradise flycatcher). The owners are also very helpful with the kids and the hospitality is great.

Galle made me glad and this place definitely added more to my gladness. Minimal yet everything! Clean and nice room with spacious balcony to enjoy the Ceylon tea or your own bottle of wine! Cool pool with feeling of privacy surrounded by greenery. The Sri Lankan breakfast was tasty too! Cheers to the owner and the staff for maintaining the place in such a peaceful and calm manner!

An oasis away from the busy City of Galle, although only less than 15 minutes to get to the Fort area. Kumudu will welcome you to his pride and joy. The renovations that he has carried out to date are superb and there are more to come. He is a delightful Owner and has a vision for what he wants to offer and is achieving that vision already, so it can only get better. If close up with monkeys is on your agenda, you must stay here !! The rooms are superb, lying around the pool is bliss, and you are surronded by trees which creates a real calming atmosphere. No restaurant as yet, but it is planned for later this year. I will definitely re-visit Ceylon Olive..............

This is an amazing property run by amazing and friendly staff. The rooms themselves are unusual and special in design, with an outside (but private) bathroom which is unlike anything else. The pool is nice and the area is surrounded by trees where monkeys jump around and entertain you, but we had no issues with them as they are the shy kind! Would definitely recommend and is great for visits to Galle and Dakata beach which is excellent for surfing.

We had a lovely stay at the Ceylon Olive. It was close to Galle whilst still feeling like a little slice of jungle paradise. Our room was beautiful and the pool was lovely. My kids had a great time staying here. The owner and team member Era were also extremely kind and attentive.

A tranquil paradise out of the bustle of Galle but close enough to enjoy all that it has to offer. A beautiful garden and pool to relax; clean airy and spacious rooms with open air showers; efficient air con and WiFi. Kumudu is an incredible host even by the high standards we have come to expect in boutique hotels in this beautiful country. His team are invariably friendly and attentive especially Era who whisks you in minutes in his TukTuk whenever you need, to a restaurant or beach or the Fort.
