Shanghai Greenhouse Garden

The Shanghai Greenhouse Garden is located in the center of Shanghai Expo Culture Park, adjacent to the central lake and backed by the Twin Hills. Covering an area of approx. 22,000m² with a total floor area of approx. 40,000m² above and below ground, it is a multifunctional complex integrating sightseeing and leisure activities. The exterior design combines historical memory with modern elements through the renovation of the former Shanghai No. 3 Steel Plant factory buildings, forming naturally elegant cloud-like curves.

The Shanghai Greenhouse Garden consists of 4 venues interconnected by aerial walkways and industrial trusses, including 1 visitor service center and 3 themed venues. The 3 themed venues are Desert Mirage (Venue 1), Cloud Forest (Venue 2), and Misty Canyon (Venue 3). These three major themed spaces follow storylines of mutated leaves, breathing roots, and floating flowers, showcasing tropical arid plants, tropical rainforest plants, and tropical flowering plants respectively. The exhibition format aims to extend from botany to museum + culture, creating an immersive greenhouse exhibition that is both visually stunning and entertaining.
