Detian Transnational Waterfall Scenic Spot

The Detian Transnational Waterfall Attraction is located in Chongzuo City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on the China-Vietnam border. It spans two countries, China and Vietnam, and is more than 200 meters wide. It is Asia's leading waterfall, the world's second transnational waterfall, and one of the filming locations for the TV series "The Journey of Flower".

The source of the waterfall is the Guichun River, the boundary river between China and Vietnam. It flows into Vietnam and then back to Guangxi, passing through Detian Village in Daxin County, and then falls from a cliff over 60 meters high in three levels, forming the magnificent landscape of Detian Waterfall. On the left side of the waterfall is the Ban Gioc Waterfall, which has a smaller amount of water in Vietnam. The two waterfalls, one large and one small, hang between the verdant cliffs, like a pair of close sisters.

When visiting, you can walk to the plank road on the mountainside opposite the waterfall to see the panoramic view of the waterfall. If you want to see the waterfall up close, you can also take a bamboo raft on the shore to see the scenery and take pictures on the river. Because it is the boundary river between the two countries, it is equivalent to going abroad. On the river, you will also meet Vietnamese people paddling bamboo rafts to sell small things, which is quite interesting.

1. Detian Archway

Detian Archway is known as the transnational gate. Entering here will also start your transnational journey. Is there anything special about the word "德" in the plaque? It turns out that more than a thousand years ago, "德" was like a polyphonic word. It was a multi-written word with two ways of writing, one with a horizontal line or without a horizontal line. This can be verified from the calligraphy of famous calligraphers in the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties.

2. Bamboo rafts on the Boundary River

Take the opportunity to step on the bamboo raft and leisurely float on the water to enjoy the charming natural scenery. The clear river water seems to pour down from the sky, and the splashing water mist sprinkles on your face. This sound is like a string of sultry notes, plucking everyone's heartstrings. Being in it is like walking in an ink painting, leisurely and free.

2. 836 Boundary Monument

836 boundary markers, the national border is an important part of a country and is sacred and inviolable. The determination of the national border and the drawing of the map are strictly regulated. Excluding the coastline/ocean border, China's land border alone is more than 22,000 kilometers long. You should know that the circumference of the earth's equator is only about 40,000 kilometers. Our country's land border is equivalent to half a circle around the earth. With such a long border line, how to determine the direction of the turns is a major problem.

3. Detian Temple

Detian Temple was built by the villagers of Detian Village in the 1980s to commemorate the Zhuang hero Nong Zhigao. Local people would come to burn incense on the first and fifteenth day of every lunar month to commemorate the hero, praying for peace and prosperity in the country and a good harvest.
